I like stories where the MC is loved and cherished by his people (but not romantically, not into harem).Though I still ship MC with other characters sometimes (〃'▽'〃). 

Some are more of a slice-of-life, with little actions, but more focusing on the deep bonds of the main characters.  I only put series that I've actually read, with my little comments on it, I'm definitely up to recommendations for similar trope.

My go-to Chinese Novels.

Most Japanese novels have either a Beta MC or an ending that rips open your heart with tragedy. Koreans have a problem with their moral compass and Chinese think that the only way to live is through DOMINANCE... There are very few novels where the MC is not a typical douche-bag...... more>>
