Nice read but nothing unique to remembered.

It's a story about a man named Eugene who got reverse-isekai'ed into the Earth to help people fight off the monster waves. Eventually, the world got their deserved peace and Eugene thought 'I want to have my happy ending too' and decided to return to his original world. There, he opened an inn. Both to appreciate his parents' wishes and to enjoy his early retirement. A slice-of-life novel. Each chapter is mostly about Eugene... more>> trying to expand his inn and turning it into the best establishment ever (by bringing the modern knowledge he got from the modern world here. Like a hairdryer, air conditioner, even a massage chair lol. What a cheat). But there's finally a plot in the newest chapters, so it won't stay slow. The monsters he encountered on Earth somehow breached his original world. Now, along with making sure his Inn stayed successful, he also tried to eliminate the monsters before it could evolve into a full-blown war.

There are funny moments and others full of feels. The interactions between Eugene, his employees, and guests are solid. But I got a feeling that the author couldn't really handle this many characters in one place. Yes, parents are a blessing and it's good that Eugene finally reunited with them. But they didn't contribute much to this story. They are prominent in that particular chapter yet are now swept aside like some unimportant NPC. The mandragoras are just there for a brief comic relief. And his pet, which was already there since the very beginning, was kinda forgotten too for a while just so the author could focus Eugene's attention on the newest, shiniest pet. I legit completely forgot about the first pet because it really was gone for that long.

Other than that complaint, it's still a nice slow-life novel if you don't have any good story to read <<less
