I know many people say that there are no good novels on this site, and it oftens feels like the top lists are filled with overpowered MC's, undeveloped harems, 2D characters, and lacking plots.

There are some novels that stand out, however, whether that be for their plots, characters, or translations.

Though if you are searching for harem novels and cliche titles, then i am afraid that you've come to the wrong place and should probably find another list. I dislike harems, repetitive novels and just bad novels in general. I made this list to invalidate the claims that NU doesn't contain any good novels anymore. I know the vast majority of translated works caters to the harem/anti-hero loving part of the community, but i quite frankly dislike the vast majority of titles in those genres due to how bad they are. As a result, i have created this list to include novels that IMO stand out due the excellent execution in story beats, excellent translations/localization (English primarily) and just have good characters. My ideal isekai novel is the one with the world building as its central theme and the romance is non existent, even if there's romance element in it, usually it's slow and just as unnecessary side dish.

NO HAREM for me. Tho few of them has harem and romance tags, for me there are those that are not romance and harem, so I'll explain in related description instead.

These are romance novels with various kinds of varieties that I have read and have not read that I find interesting and happen to have the urge to share it to you guys just bc I find it a waste to haggle all of these treasures for myself. 

The novels you're gonna be seeing here is still the same, romance novels, that are straight and are either realistic, fluffy, no dog-blood drama and 109876 chapters to resolve misunderstandings, no 5 men chasing after the protagonist, no male lead with 1000 concubines, makes sense to at least at the bear minimum, light-hearted, xianxia, or some philosophical really deep stuff(though rarely). This time this reading list is still light-hearted and sweet but more xianxia.

Before I start, I will give a brief description of what I think is a good novel. Due to these reasons a lot of "popular" and "famous" novels may not be included in the list.

1. No Dense Protagonist. He has to have a brain and a sense of awareness.

2. Good plot and storyline. There can be plot holes but it should not be overpowering.

3. Good character development. Important characters should not be forgotten.

4. Decent romance. It can be harem, but the female protagonists should be more than just Dolls that the MC have collected.

5. It can even be ero, as long as it clears the above mentioned criterias.

6. Most important of all, the novel has to keep me interested till the end. <<less
