Started reading novels since 2016 and this list reflects all things I've read.

You know, novels that always lingers in your head and makes you laugh creepily all by yourself. Please note that this is just a list based on my preferences. How I spent my time in the last 4 years.

Chinese and Korean Wuxia novels I have read/reading. Chapters might be off as I use a different website to read all these novels.

1. Rank highly on novels websites like Qidian and Zongheng (mostly QI)

2. Are strongly recommended on novel recommendation websites (eg at least 1k recommendation upvotes or at least 7.8/10 or 4/5 ratings with 1k reviews)

3. Commonly recommended on forums, search engines and blog posts (eg zhihu, sohu)

Notes:

There are novels that meet the criteria but not included like Lord of the Mysteries and Perfect World. May add them in later.

I picked the novels according to what caught my eyes (mostly comedy) or have more well known donghua adaptations (eg soul land, btth) so there may be many novels not mentioned

*Well received may not always mean good or well written, they may just be wish-fulfilment, OP-MC novels that generally cater to many, therefore, highly ranked. (eg popular 'junk food' novels).

This list is used as a compilation for me to ‘try out’. I will update my reviews if I’ve read something here. While I may not have read the novels, I may have read/ watched the dongman adaptations. <<less

Most of these novels will no doubt be familiar, it's unlikely for there to be any hidden gems here. This isn't really meant to be a list of recommendations, more of just me wanting to put some thoughts down regarding novels I like. That being said, if you want to read them (if you haven't already) because of this list that's your prerogative.

I just noticed the somewhat obvious lack of KR and JP novels. Nothing against them, I just don't like the endings for most KR novels, or I just haven't finished them. I'm not that big a fan of JP novels either, dunno why.

As an avid wuxia/xianxia/litrpg novel reader for the past 8+ years these are some of the best of the best out of the hundreds I've read. I personally enjoyed the journeys and some even have somewhat decent endings. All are mostly completed novels, with a few enjoyable ongoing ones, arranged from highest rated to lowest. Most are worth the read. Of course these are all my own personal preferences, everyone has their own.... more>>

Rankings are totally random. It's gonna be updated. It's still a new list so bear with me. Min +500 chapters translated (although there will be... more>> rare cases of some novels having a little bit less chapters). I've been reading Chinese/Korean novels for 7+ years. If you don't see the chapters don't worry, novelupdates... they don't upload unofficial translations. Use novelfull or noveltop for reading, they're anti "webnovel" web sites, or other similar websites.
"Preferably" Chaotic Neutral and Lawful Evil MCs. Male MC only. Hate IET novels except for the Stellar Transformations as it was my first novel. Hate cheap faceslapping and arrogant youngmasters. This is a forbidden territory for The Desolate Era lovers.. go away. Chinese & Korean novels only. As everyone knows, there are two different perspectives for a novel review. The true, detailed analysis and the one that is based on personal opinion. The novels on this list, are all selected after detailed analyses, not personal opinion. They all (seriously) are quality works but you might not like them. It depends on your taste. Nothing is perfect. <<less

SSS - it was incredibly interesting for me to read, I consider it an excellent work, the shortcomings do not strike my eye.

SS - it was very interesting for me to read, I consider it a good work, some shortcomings are striking.

S - I was very interested in reading, the work may be shit, but I was interested in something and did not want to pay attention to the shortcomings.

A - it was interesting for me to read, I think the work is at least normal, there may be many flaws.

B - it was interesting for me to read, it may be shit, there are many shortcomings, but I ignore some.

C - it was a little interesting for me to read, I think the works are shit, there are a lot of shortcomings.

Estimates can be corrected and specified. The meaning can be distorted due to translation.

Although imo the most correct classification would be: what I finished reading was interesting to me at that moment, and what I never finished reading was not. <<less

Novels that i read and enjoy.

Characters who have self-serving personalities or tendencies, and may or may not show it in interactions, actions, emotions, intent, and thoughts. Or just that the character has a willingness to do things that aren't compatible with our modern and diverse views regarding morals, ethics, principles, and ideals of good. The list was created with much subjectivity, as I won't put protagonists whose good qualities overshadows all their impactful grey actions and evil actions, which is important to me regardless of whether they are truly good or evil. -> Different examples of who I won't include are Song Shuhang (kindness), Klein Moretti (principles and heroic actions), Kim Dokja (altruism), and Chen Ge (goodwill and generosity).

Work in progress. Of course I have read these, I will simply state if I did not. Most are good novels but I will add some non-favorites, which is purely my opinion because I have a personal standard of quality.

Though  these reasons are not simply negative though as some good novels are here ---- reasons these may be here:

(a) Dropped because not good enough, not to my taste, too boring, was mistaken of the story, or I enjoyed them without thinking of the quality itself (b) Not bad, but reading-on-hold for now, (c) Hiatus, Stopped novels (d) Enjoyed and read but not good enough (e) Locked behind paywall so I put aside for now because I'm paying for other things (e) Not translated yet or only read the start so I have initial impressions (which may be neutral or has some negative in it, for example: Dungeon defense WN as I inevitably get somewhat disappointed it isn't more like the LN)
