Delz Recommendation List (detailed)
As an avid wuxia/xianxia/litrpg novel reader for the past 8+ years these are some of the best of the best out of the hundreds I've read. I personally enjoyed the journeys and some even have somewhat decent endings. All are mostly completed novels, with a few enjoyable ongoing ones, arranged from highest rated to lowest. Most are worth the read. Of course these are all my own personal preferences, everyone has their own.

Also a few highly recommended Novels outside of NU you may enjoy (see synopsis in comment section):

1. Mother of Learning

2. Shadow s*ave (S-L-A-V-E)

3. Supremacy Games

4. The Primal Hunter

Disclaimer: These novels are highly addictive and can get you lost in and immersed in their own worlds resulting in a lot of personal time/life wasted, read at your own risk.

One of the best. It's about our MC - Klien's adventure to uncover mysteries one by one and how he gets stronger while gathering various people from different places and forming an organization together with them even to influence the world. Our MC isn't overpowered from the beginning but he uses his brains and tricks to win and get stronger. The writing is genius for a CN novel. The characters & world-building are awesome, plot twists are delightful, a real masterpiece. The start is slow so be willing to read 200+ chapters before the story gets interesting and pulls you in.... more>>

From weak to strong, it's our typical saga of the growing spear-wielding protagonist who strives to reach the peak. Instead of a lonely MC fighting against the world for treasures and face, this MC has a family, has an organization, and is consistently strong and talented compared to his peers. The arcs continue to just get better, one of IET's (I Eat Tomatoes) best novels. Really enjoyed this.... more>>

All-time best novel is Lord of the Mysteries, however, in the genre of transmigration-gaming, this one is a favorite -MC becomes an NPC in a game before it starts (basically another world) as the world reacts to the players when they arrive. MC goes the looked-down-upon tech route and becomes OP, he uses his knowledge of the future, as well as the players that appear over time, to make a name for himself.. Great world-building, Guild-building, and even the ending is decent compared to most CN novels.... more>>

This starts slow, from the POV of the biography of our MC- Richard's childhood that delves into this world's rather in-depth system of: Swords & Sorcery, Runecrafting, Deities, Ancient Bloodlines & Noble Families. But then the real story of planar warfare begins along with his growing batch of companions, who grow and develop with him. An enjoyable read, fascinating in its planar warfare, army building, kingdom/colony building. The author is also a spectacular story weaver that lets this novel be considered as a landmark for CN novels.... more>>

The novel is actually quite good, especially for a mmorpg novel. Follows an MC who hops back in time to himself as he restarts the vmmorpg as a veteran bad-ass thief/assassin. Surprisingly he actually makes use of his previous knowledge quite effectively. It's a "guild-building novel", so I would classify it under kingdom-building which I personally enjoy. Has an enjoyable start but as usual for most CN novels, fast rushed ending.... more>>

This one is considered so good it's become a popular manga and anime. In a nutshell- the whole world is moved to another dimension to fight for survival and find the best Hunter on the planet. This is something similar to a system apocalypse style except our MC has already gone through this once and starts with his second attempt of surviving to the finish line.. It's one of the more refreshing Korean novels that I've read. Premise is nice and love the overall plot progression. Ending was a bit rushed but it was really not a bad ending. A quick fun read is a plus.... more>>

Our MC - Qin Yun starts as an adult and as a skilled martial practitioner, thus avoiding some of the 'cultivation wank' that goes on in the first 100 chapters of many other novels & getting right to the meat of the plot. In this war between humans and demons, people sacrifice themselves nobly for loved ones, other people have tragic pasts, villains are cruel and rapacious and are not as quickly mown down as some xianxia villains are.. There's also some good romance. Simply put, this is a short hidden gem by IET - they always start off slow and become more and more epic as you go.... more>>

Our MC -Teng Qingshan again isn't a total blank slate as with other novels. He was a top tier assassin and a Grandmaster level martial artist, and his skills and experiences carry over into the new world wherein he starts pioneering a new field of martial arts, and eventually his own Sect. This novel is another one of those hidden gems which simply stands out from the rest. Yes, being an IET novel, it contains his usual tropes but it executes it well. Since it's one of the shortest of IET's novels, the plot which while being generic moves at a steady pace which always keeps you interested.... more>>

Title speaks for itself. Me and my bugs .. what more can one possibly need.. Mc comes back from the past, from like 500 years with a gu bug that takes him back in time where he uses his knowledge to get ahead. This is a unique read compared to the most CN cultivation novels, the protagonist is a smart ruthless anti-hero, the power ranks/ cultivation system is truly uniquely fascinating. Er Gens's latest ongoing novel. (a.k.a. "Beyond the Timescape") With this novel, it seems like Er Gen is back to his best writing. Starts off a bit gloomy and slow and the settings are different from the typical cultivation novels but as it progresses you'll begin to get engrossed with it and our MC - Xu Qing. In the early chapters, he's a bit as in Renegade Immortal, edgy, cold, and a loner, but his character evolves slowly the further you read. The world-building is quite deep with lots of mysteries as in Er Gen's previous novels, and thus it is definitely worth reading. Enjoying it so far and can't wait for more chapters. Highly... more>>

Also from the same author (Goose Five) of "Immortal Mortal", it has a twist as the story's setting in the beginning is set in our modern day world, where our MC is transmigrated from the cultivation world!  As he figures a way to re-cultivate & return back to the cultivation world he slaughters his way to dominate this world and the next.. The writing style and protagonist is similar to Immortal Mortal's which I quite enjoy - decisive and smart. Similar to IM the ending is disappointing as this one abruptly ends on a cliffhanger? Still worth the read though.... more>>

Lin Ming, our MC seems to be OP with his talent, growth and 'cheat' item but he constantly has extremely powerful and invincible enemies looming over his head trying to destroy his race or kill him, and he's constantly struggling to look for a way out for himself and his people. This leads to a lot of interesting plots and arcs in this classic novel. Martial World is one of the novels that created a lot of the tropes and cliches that people complain about now a days. If you've read too many xianxia, you probably know all the stereotypes already. However, Martial World just does the whole xianxia thing better than most others. It... more>>

From the same genius author who gave us City of Sin, MoE along with CoS are some of the best novels with western elements. This novel is unlike your standard cultivation novels, the technology is pretty advanced (Post-Apocalyptic setting), and an entire civilization is built, with races like vampires, werewolves and arachnes, the protagonist is forced to walk on the line between human and monster. This is a rare novel that gets better while you read... it's also not a novel for the weak. I actually dropped it at first because of its disgusting descriptions, racist moments, and questionable morals, but you have to understand that it's set in a Post-Apocalyptic Steampunk era, and all those things build for an interesting world, different from what we know. The MC has gains and losses, things happen around him regardless, and it feels more like he joins the world rather than the world moving in his own story. All of this creates a unique world with a believable MC resulting in an enjoyable story. If you can get past the excessive explicit... more>>

Loved this. A rare enjoyable wish fulfillment novel gem that surprisingly was good from start to end (despite the many frustrating translation issues). This is about a man (Abel) who transmigrates into a western like magical world populated by humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, & magical beasts. He starts off learning to become a knight & discovers that he can access items from the dark world of Diablo & eventually can train & acquire limitless resources there. One of the first novels Ive read by Er Gen, aside from IET, this author is really one of the best CN cultivation writers. ISSH is one of the most lauded Wuxia novels on cultivation as it was a ground breaker back then. This may not be for veteran readers that have read other cultivation novels first, as they'll find this generic; but like Coiling Dragon it's the best place to start your path down cultivation novels. Hilarious at times and different from your usual plot of loner and mainstream CN novel MC. Don't expect this to be a one man show. His sidekicks are amazing. In fact, his sidekick is like the mainstream MC. He is just the ugly dried up scalping zombie that got stuck down the mainstream mc's way. The best thing about this novel is the traveling and exploration. Other novels skimp out on this, but here our MC- Zuo Mo gradually builds up his own forces while traveling in this "world of cultivation". If you like IET novels, you'll like this one. It's one of his smaller works, similar to the Nine Cauldrons & Seeking the flying sword. But it's long enough for my taste. It has the requisite elements of a boy growing up to become a superpower. In addition, because it's shorter, the scale in much of the novel is closer to human -- cities are in the low millions, distances in the world are in thousands of miles; character ages are in decades or at most centuries, not millions of years. Pretty enjoyable.... more>>

IET novels have a certain style that draws you in as long as you don’t like to nitpick. Currently adapted to manhua and 3D donghua. This novel is set in a post apocalyptic world (futuristic setting) so it has one of the few interesting premises that you can only find in just a few xianxia. The amazing world building and martial arts crossed with tech feeling, right down to the little things like POV changes and other characters feelings and thoughts are all well done. The is a very classic vrmmorpg game esc novel. Well worth the read even if just for the magic system alone. MC chooses mage in a new 'vr' game. Questions the truth about the game and eventually discovers that abilities from the game can be brought over to earth such as magic, just that there isnt much mana here. The plot is sufficiently interesting to guide the MC to explore and develop his magic right up until the very end where it devolves into mostly nonsense where a whole bunch of loose ends were left hanging at the end, but still despite that, a pretty enjoyable read.... more>>

Here are my reviews/ synopsis of the recommended Novels outside of NU I gave above:

Supremacy Games - At first I was a bit turned off by the title and comedy but boy was I wrong. This is one of those hidden gems that you hope you'll eventually stumble upon. It's about a guy- Felix Maxwell who was destined to be a loser, he was forced to face adversity head-on when he stumbled upon a ruin where a supreme being laid imprisoned, trying to take over his body. He then wakes up in his younger body, 20 years in the past with the fallen being trapped in his soul. Earth needs a hero as it's going to be invaded soon so he does his best to prepare for whats to come. In his past life he had been a loser, but now he swears to take advantage of his knowledge and emerge as a supreme being. The world building and action is amazing. For anyone reading this just go straight ahead and dive into Supremacy Game, and i guarantee 99/100 people will love it.

Shadow-s*ave - Another hidden gem. This is about a guy named Sunny who lives in a dystopian future where people are forced to periodically visit a magical world and battle terrible monsters (like KN system apocalypse novels but done better). If they survive, they receive special powers. The world is believable and realistic, detailed and fleshed out. The story development is fairly intriguing and immediately hooks you in. It jumps quickly to the action, making the plot move at an enjoyable pace. Every chapter is filled with suspense and will keep you longing for more. As the story progresses, the mystery keeps climbing. All in all, it's a solid novel, the one true gem of webnovel.com. The writing is captivating, the story is compelling, and the characters are full of life in a world full of death and abounding with terrifying beasts.

The Primal Hunter- This is a great post apocalyptic system style litRPG that gave me loads of fun. It follows the paths of a group of office workers that are taken from their work place suddenly and transported to the Multiverse, due to a system apocalypse in which they have to survive a period of time within a designated tutorial scenario. Our MC- Jake Thayne then proceeds to kick-ass with complete disregard for any pre-system norms to become the strongest human on the planet.

Mother of Learning- One of my absolute favorites. The premise of MoL is simple. Zorian Kazinski is an average 15-year-old mage with equally as average magical abilities. At the end of the month, on the night of his cities Summer Festival, everything goes unimaginably wrong. Somehow, he finds himself reliving the previous month over again. He has to find a way out of this never ending time loop by any means necessary. To do that, he has to learn all there is to know about magic while finding unlikely allies along the way. Luckily, he’s got plenty of time to get things right. After all, repetition is the Mother Of Learning. Overall, I loved reading MoL. Zorian's growth in character and power was pretty enjoyable. The time loop never felt repetitive or exhausting, even though it consisted of reading about the same month repeatedly. If I had one complaint, the final few chapters before the climax felt slightly rushed compared to the previous 90 chapters. In the end, MoL was an addicting, fun, and overall joy to read. Even though it was a bit long long, I wish I could read more. Whether you are a fan of time loop or time travel in the fantasy genre, MoL is worth the read if you are a fan of magic school in fantasy also.
