As you would expect it's another copy paste novel by IET with some minor modifications.

Demons are evil as they feast on humans. Act of killing humans make you accumulate sins and hence bring the wrath of Heavens.

But if Humans feast and kill animals as a part of food cycle the sins accumulated are almost negligible.

... more>> You see MC is someone who hates evil. By evil I mean the act of feasting on young human children. Making children orphans, etc.

But the great part is that the evil is only limited to food cycle of Demons. Because MC himself enjoy the meat of animals. Tell me when humans kill animals and eat them... isn't that the same evil humans in the novel blame Demons for?

I'm not some PETA ambassador or anything. Heck, I enjoy non-vegetarian food myself. Just saying that the author should try to be neutral instead of only calling Demons as pure evil.

It's food cycle as far as Heavens are concerned.

Author can't say that those eating fish are evil but the ones eating chicken are saints. Or can he ? Well, he exactly says that.

The novel is full of such great logic. <<less

I am really disappointed. IET is a very well known and experienced writer but this novel is way below his level. The writing quality is excellent but the delivery and the plot is really poor. Readers have to follow an unknown guy trying to revenge his sister while sometimes trying to help some unknown friends. Why should us, readers, care about or get excited and continue reading about this MC ? I didn't feel any attachment to the MC or any other characters. I really couldn't get into the story... more>> because the start point of the story and the way the author delivered the story are really really poor and annoying, which was unexpected from an experienced author. <<less

First of all, the translator now is CKtalon who also translate TMW, so surely the translation quality is pretty good.

Now for the story we have our mc: Qin Yun, who is a wandering cultivator that just returning home after 6 years travelling. He has pretty amazing quality for MC, as he isnt naive and shameless, protective to his friend and family, and ruthless to his enemy, including those courting death young masters.

Its just the beginning of the novel after all. But I must say I am really entertained by this... more>> novel. This novel has a good plot and not just faceslapping story. It just as good as other IET novels.

So I encourage you to just read this novel and dont listen to those qidian haters. <<less

This novel is the new one by IET, with sword cultivation being the main path, just like Desolate Era. That said, our MC's cultivation is of 'Seeking the Flying Sword Path'. That's right, no hand to hand combat, this is flying sword magic!

First Impression (5/5) : First things first, the novel opens with our 17 year old MC returning home after travelling the world. This is a bit of a departure from IET's usual style of opening with the childhood training of the MC. This caused complaints in the reviews... more>> stating that the protagonist is hard to sympathize with and it is hard to form connections with the characters.

Personally, I don't think so. In the beginning the the only thing we know about our MC is that he is the greatest sword genius of the County, but chapter after chapter, we learn more and more about our MC and the circumstances that drove his rise. Also, the opening with MC showcasing his magic and his first battle really drove my interest up!

Also, if we really had the MC training from his childhood, due to the cultivation, it would simply be sword training and there would be complaints that this was a rip-off of Desolate Era.

World-building (5/5) : The world seems a bit small for now, and the cultivation levels are largely unknown as well. There is Daoism, Buddhism and the Magi, along with Monsters and Fiends opposing, the classical Taoist myth backdrop for a xianxia. The Sword Immortal lineage that our MC trains in has a secret as well...

Romance (5/5) : I didn't expect IET to add romance this early. That said it is pretty satisfying, the buildup from attraction to love. Me likey!

Cultivation and Battle (5/5) : The MC's cultivation technique is the best, his speed is pretty fast and his comprehension of laws defies his realm, placing him at the peak of geniuses, IET staple. Though MC's powerups seem to take place conveniently after he falls into a dangerous situation, it is still bearable. The early fighting has sword fights but after that flying swords become staple.

I like flying swords, I really like flying swords, they are really cool!

Characters (5/5) : As I said before, the MC is introduced to us in chapter 1. The following chapters explore his character by events and actions, following the rule of show not tell. There isn't really any character development, mostly because the story has few chapters and the MC hasn't really explored much. But there will be, his past works give me assurance.

So, I really like this. So, I'll give it a 5-star. <<less

First of all I would like to say that the people reading this novel should not make assumptions that quick. I'm getting really tired of people dismissing the fact that the author left his backstory a bit vauge. For all we know they may be a reason that he left it like that as we are only nearing 100 chapters currently. And also for that person saying the MC had no motive for what he did.

He helped the childhood friend because she was the younger sister of a friend that he cared about. He just wanted the best for her. As for helping the governor, he did that because the governor offered an item that can help him refine his weapon easier. For the girl, the water god was the one who killed his sister and he already planned to kill the water god anyway, but decided to help because the water god may break through anytime.

Seriously read the novel correctly before you make assumptions, or I will just view you as an idiot that can only make s*upid reasons to hate something. <<less

Very good novel. IET is my favorite author and he continues to write excellent stories.

I read some reviews and honestly they are unfair. They call the MC dumb because he can't recognize something that seems obvious to the readers because we KNOW what it is. It's like not finding the solution to a problem but once you have the answer it's so obvious.

As for not caring about the MC because he is already grown up is just wrong. IET likes to start the story when the MC is born or... more>> very little so a bond is easy to forge with him. Here he is 21 years old at the start so it just takes more time to figure him out but after that the MC's feeling, thought and ambition are easy to understand.

If you have already read and liked IET's other novels, this one is just as good. And for those who don't know IET, try it for 50 chapters and if you still aren't feeling it just quit.

The hero is talented and becomes powerful on his own and not because he has a special bloodline or a powerful artifact. Each progress in power feels like his hard work. He is compassionate with people but ruthless with his ennemis. He has experienced war and knows what is important.

The cultivation system is new. IET has always new ideas about that so that you don't have the feeling to read the same thing.

The plot is alright but the story is still too young to have a good idea about that. The story goes on naturally and you don't have the feeling some things are too exaggerated.

Just don't believe all the negative reviews because even if this novel ends up being the worst one of IET (and so far it doesn't look that way) it's still way above of the other LN crap that is popular. <<less

Biased rant based on personal experience:

The story is ok until around the 330ish chapters. You have a self-righteous MC that goes cleansing evil and eventually avenging a personal loss with his selfmade sword skills gained from an incomplete inheritance.
Then it suddenly changes in a Desolate Era type of long-ass chase that pretty much kills it for me.

But my problem isn't with the change itself, it's with how it's introduced and handled.

The wife is turned into what's supposed to be a badass dragon during her pregnancy, but instead gets kidnapped like a powerless damsel from one of the most secure drgonkin baby growth foemula pools and then hidden from the eyes of the entire world with the help of a number of treasures spawned out of some shitlord's ass.
The MC then spends years mucking about in different worlds while his wife is very painfully using her own lifespan to slowly turn into that powerful dragon no one actually bothered to nurture and protect, because who the hell needs another powerful ally, right? Solely to get a pseudo-powerup instead of a real one and save the tortured and now useless wife, only to find that their daughter was taken to some unknown world.

Simply put, the major and oh-so "wise" characters ruling that world could have gained an entire family of sword-wielding, evil-hating, strong-from-birth badass dragons and instead of protecting them and helping them grow, they did absolutely nothing.

The author made an entire universe of paper thin cardboard props and then favoured one to move around in an otherwise dead world.

No stars to be given. <<less

When I read the two chapters I thought that this seemed like combination of Coiling Dragon and Desolate Era but it seems this is sequel to Stellar Transformation (not sure if its direct sequel or or just same universe..

Still the beginning seems interesting as the MC is decently strong at the start. Will update this when more of the world and cultivation is revealed.

I was not disappointed, but then again I also don't stay waiting up for Santa anymore.

This is more of the same from IET;nothing more, nothing less. And at this point it is pretty obvious to anyone that IET is churning out these novels at about the same rate and quality of a McDonald's meal.

I do have a problem feeling any sort of connection to the characters like some of the others have stated. That said, the main problem I'm having is that like many of IET's other novels the MC... more>> always seems to able to power up just when he needs to. Defeating one antagonist means nothing because there's one more right around the corner who will do something way out of character and eventually be taken out mostly because of his own s*upidity.

The new governor actually went and made himself an enemy of a guy who spent 3 years on the front lines AND just finished killing a monster who had terrorized their territory for 200 years. Still, I guess it was worth risking his cover (he works with/for the evil monsters) so that he can get some cultivation item

Wait until the chapters pile up, don't think too much and enjoy. <<less

The story spends way too much time on BSing around on the most useless of stuff. From the start, you can tell that this is just another novel were the MC is already ultra powerful and he just spends his days stomping on mortals. MC's adventures are extremely lacking in interest and you can clearly tell that the author is putting way too much effort putting as much filler content as possible. A piece of information will get repeated as much as 10 times because the author is just writing... more>> for the sake of writing and can't be bothered to remember what he/she wrote. The fact that the novel start out with a beauty pageant contest doesn't help this novel either. <<less

I like this novel so far one of the best romantic developments you can find. Also I was reading through the comments and saw someone was raging about the author describing the demons as evil. The MC clearly said, he has no grudge against the natural law of the world, where demons eat humans and humans eat demons. They are however mortal enemies because he is a human. If you had a lion eating people, would you be okay with that lion slaughtering humans? However when you see a human... more>> eating a chicken, would you be upset? I think if we use the logic where all living things are equal then consumption of anything would be a sin, as even eating plants is consuming life. The value of humans (to us humans) is far greater than the value of other living things. <<less

Got caught up with the raws and so far I am really liking this novel. There are a lot of small things that are done differently compared to other novels which is a nice touch even though it is not anything major.

The male and female lead are both likable. There have been a few side characters that have been introduced but they have not had much development but the story is still early on so plenty of time for that. The female lead/main love interest is pretty well developed and... more>> the romance is a nice breath of fresh air in my opinion there is no pu*sy footing around they do fall in love pretty fast but it isnt done in a horrible way.

The world building so far has been fine but nothing amazing hope it gets better later on.

The translations are very good and the updates are very stable so gj CKtalon keep up the great work.

Overall I very much enjoy IET new novel and would recommend people to give it a try. I personally would read about 150 chapters before deciding to drop it or keep reading.

I have finished it and overall really like it especially the ending. Probably my favorite IET novel and hope we get to see more Qin Yun in the future

Based on the first 50 chapters or so, I think this story is a notch above many of IET's other works, showing a maturity in storytelling and plot that really isn't apparent (in my opinion) in many of his earlier novels. The main character starts as an adult and as a skilled martial practitioner, thus avoiding some of the 'cultivation wank' that goes on in the first 100 chapters of many other novels & getting right to the meat of the plot. Also, Flying Sword Path is just plain stylish... more>> - it draws on very classic wuxia tropes and gives them a daoist spin, rather than being a daoist novel first and foremost. People sacrifice themselves nobly for loved ones, other people have tragic pasts, villains are cruel and rapacious and are not as quickly mown down as some xianxia villains are... I'm definitely curious to see how this story develops and hope that it continues to hold true to its early promise! <<less

Ah this novel is so disapoting I wanted a Coling Dragon but got a shity Xue Ying version in this one I don't get why master tomato keep going on this direction.

First of all the novel start with a 22 years old MC returning home, we don't know anything about him so we can only learn about his past, cultivation and goals after 40 chapters in a very lazy way.

The problem of not showing his grown like in CD is because when we meet say a friend or a love... more>> interest we just don't care about them because IET only said they are old pals, no flashback or anything and even his goal of revenge for his little sister was just shove in there for convinince. At no point at all the MC said why he wanted to be a cultivator only when he need to fight the person he wanted revenge upon did we learn about his sister so its almost impossible to care about it.

Also the best part of the novel was when the MC decide to just go to a battlefield and breakthout or die agaisnt a horde of monsters the problem is IET never wrote about that past one line so we miss that too.

But the worst part is the MC doesn't look to be the one making the choices in what to do he acts like somebody devivery boy working for his chieldhood friend when she didn't ask, risking his life for a greed governant and now helping a naive female cultivator. Sure the MC does have reasons to help them but alwasy looks like it wasn't worth the troble and he took a lost, unlike in CD when the MC help his friends but since you buy there frienship it never looks like it's not worth even when the MC must face soverings to help his friend unlike here. <<less

First, this is an IET novel. However, I feel that unlike the other novels, it doesn't have that peaceful cultivation that I love his novels for. Instead, though, the interactions are much more mellowed here. Qin Yun never really leaves his homeworld. We have the usual fights, but some are resolved without fighting. He doesn't hesitate to call for help, and rarely resolves situations single-handedly. That makes the novel 4/5 for me.

What makes it 5/5 though, is the Meng Yiqiu arc. In that arc, I had the same feeling feeling... more>> towards cultivation as in IET's other novels. I enjoyed his life and trembled in excitement when we got a continuation. I loved that arc. It, alone, made the novel 5 stars.

PS: I will address 2 other things. First, I really appreciate that the MC is not trying to be special. A major part of the story line is

Qin Yun must create his own sword immortal cultivation technique. There is one, but he is not allowed to learn it (unless he reincarnates) as he comes from another lineage. He keeps failing until

I feel that sets it aside from the other IET novels. He doesn't have a cheat technique.

Secondly, most of the criticisms here criticize minor plotlines and generalize to the entire novel. The courtesan Not Red Yet mentions? Qin Yun doesn't obsess over her. She

turns him down and he accepts that

But IET has not stuck Qin Yun with a similar object in 500 chapters, so why exacerbate a minor issue? <<less

It's a very good novel when compared to other mainstream Chinese novels. The MC isn't OP in the beginning but has a legit reason for revenge which drives him and his hard work is clearly mentioned, no lucky encounters yet. Translation is really good as well.

This novel is awesome. I think this is the only IET novel with good romance too. I almost catch up with the latest translation right now (chapter 220). The interaction between qing yun and his wife is really intense. I hope his wife will still be significant in the future. The world setting is interesting with war between human and demon.

I think the best thing I can say about this novel so far is that it didn't just shove everything about the MC down your throat and we didn't have to go through yet another nobody to somebody story.

Over the first few dozen chapters we slowly get a feel for who the MC is and what his motivations are. In this we are able to start off with an already strong MC just a few steps away from entering the realm that most people would consider strong. And after learning... more>> his motivations after 50 or so chapters it puts new light on past actions.

When we find out about his sister being eaten by that water shitty and his entire reason for relentlessly perusing cultivation being to kill he water god. This also puts a new light on some of the things he did like slaughtering all the demons who targeted his brother and going far it out of his way help his old friends sister (his sister substitute)

All in all its an enjoyable read so far but with only 50 chapters and the MC main goal being removed soon who knows what he future will hold. <<less

Seems sorta similar to IET's other novels (really epic/fresh at the start, not sure about later).

lol the MC's name reminds me of Qin Yu from Stellar Transformations. *Wiggles eyebrows*

Sure, the MC is OP, but he isn't GOD level yet. Just around his dinky little area he's OP. He doesn't have much variety (sword immortal) but the other characters seem to have various talents.

... more>> As usual, MC helps his family and girls.

I find it different that the story starts a while after MC starts cultivating. That's pretty cool. The MC also doesn't seem to be absolutely s*upid, so I'm good.

Haven't seen any absolutely awesome (alive) male characters for the MC to buddy with. <<less

As with most IET novels its best story telling is in the beginning when the power levels are low and its a more focused and intimate experience. The higher you go in cultivation the lower the quality, the more disjointed and impersonal the story and the more padding it gets.

There's a lot of random sh*t in the middle and lots of inconsequential shit, story threads dropped and all that garbage. The greatest sin of this novel is that it just ends out of nowhere, its abrupt and tries to tie... more>> all lose ends in the last few chapters in a rushed way, the story showed glimpses of other worlds and bigger things and kind of indirectly promised the readers more, then pissed off to never be seen again. Most novels don't know when to end, but this one didn't even feel like it knew where it was going, or who knows... maybe the author just got bored or it wasn't popular enough.

I finished this a while back, and so I can't go in to too much detail on power levels and all that stuff, its all over the place anyway, but I don't feel like it is needed as the core issue with this is that outside being mediocre at best it just doesn't really give you a satisfying ending or anything. <<less
