"Lord of All Realms" - the MC can fight not just a few levels higher, but with tools almost up to no limit. Besides bloodline skills such as Life Drain, Life Blend are really interesting in use. Close to the end you gonna dive in a cosmology similar to "The Silmarillion" :)... more>>

In "Martial Peak" I like how cunning and unpredictable the MS is. His trumps are unrivalled and numerous, so it always exciting to see which combination he uses to solve a problem. 

"Against the Gods" is a little bit special. The author can really play the soul strings. From time to time, you put down the book and think about and feel it. It manages to evoke quite strong emotions, which is untypical for light novels.

Apparently "Heavenly Silkworm Potato" has written "Battle Through the Heavens", "Wu Dong Qian Kun" and "The Great Ruler" in the given order, actually progressing with every new book. The last one is exceptional. The MC is especially interesting; he never stops surprising you.

The author "Mad Snail" is presented in my list with "Tales of Demons and Gods", "Nine Astra Skies" and "Cult of the Sacred Runes". All three are really cool, especially TDG which has the highest potential, but all of them are unfinished and abandoned (what a pity!). 

I had really good times while reading "Martial God Asura" and "Versatile Mage". But probably these are a bit overextended. <<less

PS : no. 4.5 " Arrogant Young master template A variation 4" , score : 60 , amazing , meta mc, refreshing trope for a xianxia , and on thr above only it would have gotten 30 points but the execution and cohesion is so well done that it produces synergy,  i had to add 20 , and 10 is my personal bias since this is something new for me.

Top 17 are some of the most scheming protagonists imo, only the first three are ranked according to whom I belive are the most schemming of all, the other ones were hard to decide qwq, though they are more or less ranked too. Those guys are really cunning...

The ones more at the bottom are, either not soooo schemming or not really schemming at all, they were caught in other people's schemes and conspiracies, don't know if it would be convinient to point them out to differenciate. <<less

Things to note if you all come at me:

1. I have not read all the novels on this list YET. All read novels are on part 1 with the according reviews. I made this list so I could have something visual to look at when looking for good quality novels to read. I judge "good quality novels" by seeming reviews and ratings or perhaps the book has an interesting premise you don’t usually find.

2.  I look for a capable MC and a subjectively respectful ML, but that doesn’t necessarily mean every book I put here fits that requirement. Once again, there is always exceptions (for example, a brat ML with character development). 

3. I don't like looking at the rating of the novel when there are barely any reviews. Thus, I look at the reviews (which have completed more than 1/2 of the novel). If the reviews (even scarce) like it, it has potential. Thus, FME indicates that a novel has been added regardless of NU rating.  

PS -->The higher the expectations for a novel, the higher the stars (purely subjective, don't take it too seriously). Hence, "***, **, *."

PSS --> Though not fluff, there will be some Feel Good (have more of a plot) novels here. <<less
