The kind of novels I HATE  :

1. No Romance

2. Slow paced plot

3. Lots of unwanted useless info which ruins reading experience.

4. Bland plot (Novels which fail to stir any emotion. Which feels like reading textbooks instead of Novels. Lol)

5. Lack of character interactions and a lot of forgotten characters.

6. I mostly hate Game settings (except one novel)

So these wont be there in my list

Before I start, I will give a brief description of what I think is a good novel. Due to these reasons a lot of "popular" and "famous" novels may not be included in the list.

1. No Dense Protagonist. He has to have a brain and a sense of awareness.

2. Good plot and storyline. There can be plot holes but it should not be overpowering.

3. Good character development. Important characters should not be forgotten.

4. Decent romance. It can be harem, but the female protagonists should be more than just Dolls that the MC have collected.

5. It can even be ero, as long as it clears the above mentioned criterias.

6. Most important of all, the novel has to keep me interested till the end. <<less

Here some of my favorite novels, i tend to like novel without romance, harem, ecchi, or tragedy tags. I also like stories with great side characters rather than just focusing solely on MC. I prioritize stories with well written characters, well written plots, and not repetitive. If the story has that all but doesn't have the "cool" otherwordly feel that we all seek for in this novels, it will not be in here.

But I edit this list every time I finish reading a novel, so most of the time, the newer ones will be higher up. So the ranking is pretty biased. 
Just saying that I'm very picky and values rating (4.5 or above is usually my cut off, although there are some exceptions. OR sometimes the novel rating decreased over time)

Just keep in mind that I'm a person who if a story can make me cry my eyes out, that story will inevitably rank higher than those that are just as good, but do not have a tragic element to it. Generally, tragic stories leave more of an impression on me <<less
