MY ABSOLUTE ABSOLUTEEEEE FAVORITE!

These novels are hands down the absolute best when it comes to quality in world-building, plot twists, character development, or melodrama.

Read Lord of the Mysteries and fell absolutely head over heels for it. these are some novels i think have similar elements: lovecraftian/occult horror, steampunk/victorian vibes, themes of humanity fighting against fate, etc.  A mix of read and TBR, as well as BL/GL/gen.... more>>

- Mother of Learning on RoyalRoad, TBR. time loop f*ckery babeyyy. apparently there’s a good magic system and some character development. I’ve heard nothing of good things about this one!

- I only add titles where I've experienced the knife, or know there would be knife for sure (ex: mudaoli's novel)

my scale of pain, ranged from 'not really hurts' to 'it haunts me every time I see kite': 
1-3: wooden rice spoon (getting hit by one hurts okay)
4-6: paper cut (hidden but suddenly you feel pain)
7-8: knife. be wary. 
9: you're almost ascending via 刀道
10: machete. you've already reached godhood of 刀道. congratulations.  <<less

The novels I have read on this site started mostly in the Wuxia/ Xianxia Genre but with time I came to read more and more KR and JP stuff too. As a result, the contents will revolve around the usual genre tropes so I won't bother with a long list of tags. I don't have a lot of expectations for most titles I casually pick up.

What I consider when actually calling a novel "bad" is mostly bad writing ability (author) or translation quality. Otherwise there are some things like excessive NTR, those mostly have horrendous writing/ storytelling anyway. There are also things I just subjectively find boring of course.

I hope the list contains stuff that you may come to like just as I did :)

I've rated on the scale of 10 and wrote descriptions for some of them or just few lines otherwise. 

[If not, then either it's has too less chapters (below 100) or I've stopped half-way (translation problem, didn't feel like re-reading to catch up to the latest chapters due to long brake or the story started going downhill) and just rated it to what I remember.]

My criteria for the novel recommendation? Nothing.. because there's no bad story, only bad writing, your limitation to picture the stories in your head, or sometimes contradiction from story's idea with your sense of value (even for me).

I will only include the one's that made me stick through thick and thin. Mostly no romance, if it's harem then you should expect that the MC is just using them for greater benefits. I don't like DUmb characters so you should also expect that most of the Male leads here or Female leads are smart or sharp. half of my list also include survival and teaches you some bitter reality lesson unlike those cliche novels that makes you scared or dream about nonsense fantasy stuffs.... more>>
