Edit: Woa, I never expected that many users to like obsessive MLs, feels great to see those with the same 'guilty pleasures' as mine (I don't feel guilty though, not because my taste is good but because I lack shame). Personally, I prefer MLs who are usually ruthless and somewhat cruel to everyone but the MC, whom they treat with utmost love, care and respect, of course they're still 'toxic' in a way they wouldn't leave the MC alone or ever separate from him, but to make him stay, they'd rather pamper him to the hell and back than use torture or abuse. A big plus if they're paired with sly and morally grey MCs.

These are all just gems and must-reads you have to know- there’s angst (hardcore and softcore along with stuff that made me ugly sob with hiccups), there’s downright fluff(some of them literally bleed fluff), there’s some that I read just for the plot( YES PLOT IS A TANGIBLE THING IN MOST OF THESE) and some that are just orgasmically dopamine filled. Disclaimer- like 4-5 of these are pretty hardcore so if you’re uncomfortable with yandere, dubcon, kinda~in*est, bd*m (READ THE TAGS ALWAYS) etc Just take it with a grain of salt but like it’s only a few out of this huge list. I hope you enjoy! <<less

And in my own, very subjective opinion, these novels have really good plots, or at least most of their logic is in the bounds of normal human logic.

These BL's have left lasting impressions on me in the past years. This list includes the thriller/action/horror/mystery/crime genre. This list is a part of a series classified by genre ; other lists of this series include Ancient Setting novels and  Modern/Futuristic/Transmigration novels. I tried to include both known and unknown novels to give more diversity to the reading list. 

So what is my subjective version of a quality BL of this list?

-No/little plot holes & well developed plot/mystery

-Actually thrilling

-Capable MC and ML  (not aggravatingly s*upid and know when to respect each other but also put their foot down at the right moments). . 

-Lasting impression. I made this list by memory so if it's not on here...Chances are it's not worth remembering for the list. 

-Good development of all characters--including side characters--as long as the main focus is the main couple.

-Make me cry, laugh, yell or gasp. Perhaps all at the same  time. 

*****I have also included BL novels that have high expectations from me. The higher the expectations, the higher the stars. Hence, "***, **, *."

Gong/seme MC : It feels refreshing to read gong/seme as the MC. The gong/seme will not be the usual cool, cold, quiet, dominant type, but talk active, loud, reckless, active and very very annoying LOL 

Strong Shou/ukeFor the Strong Shou/uke : strong independent shou/uke that can think and defend himself is interesting to read, even overshadow the gong is rare. Also, shou/uke that bypasses the stereotype characteristic will create something new to read.  <<less
