This was good read for a short novel. Story revolved between Yu Ming (FL) and Yang Jing Zhi (ML) who dated during college, got separated and met again after 4 years.

Their misunderstandings were actually understandable.

FL thought that ML didn't like her and just forced. While ML despite liking FL, he has many concerns like not enough for her... plus her parents' disapproval and bvllying (called gigolo). But after FL left, he really did everything to find her including creating a tech company to locate her.

I liked that after meeting up, it was immediately cleared. They both deserved happiness together.

Idk know but ending left me wanting more like wedding, babies, etc <<less

A bit too melodramatic. I normally really enjoy separation + reunion style stories. This followed an extremely stereotypical route.

and MC running off just bc she saw the screenshot and the MC complaining about the debt, pushed the story from "acceptable" to "too annoying" for me.

Don't know why the author couldn't have the MC just tell the ML the truth, especially when

he already made it clear he still loved her and tried to give her the bracelet. All the stuff that happened after the ML tried to give her a new bracelet was just dumb AF. Like how did MC secretly contact the fake fiance to pick her up? The logic was completely gone at that point.

This story just goes to show that when money is involved, the power dynamics in a relationship is set whether it’s intended or not. As always with couples that went around in circles to cement their relationships, communication is crucial but that’s something that has to be developed. Also, contract partners always have problems. What I do love about this story is that they’ve both walked in each others shoes now so while there’s still a vast difference in financial power, communication is smoother now.

Definitely 5 stars for me!!

If you’re an angst lover like me then this is definitely a must read. I would’ve loved for it to be a tiny bit longer (maybe a little more angsty chapters?) but it being short AND completed is good for the heart lol

I don't know why this story got a low rating because I think this story was quite good. Indeed there were myriad of misunderstandings between FL and ML but it's not enough to annoy you since this story was only 8 chapters so the misunderstandings would pass quickly. And although the beginning was a bit angsty, this story had a happy ending.

I LOOOOOOVVEEEEE IT

And there is three mains reasons:

1 they COMMUNICATE ! How rare to see a main couple actually solve their misunderstanding and express their feelings such as how they felt during the "event". A true forest.

... more>> 2 the psychological aspect : the novel really shows how deep can the rumors impact our own understanding of the reality. How people’s opinion can modify our perceptions of events or relationships

3 the realistic side : in these types of story with one of the main character is riche and the other poor, author often forgot that they both has different vision of life as they didn’t grow in the same environment. They didn’t have the same principle, life standard or priority. I really like how the author almost succeed in doing it correctly

I personally like the character of the FL, modest and hard worker, from what I’ve read so far.

And the ML, a true man. May be a little bit suspicious but still someone worth being called a green flag.

My advice : read it <<less
