NOT RANKED BY NUMBER. Lots of diversity in the novels. Different kinds like zombie apocalypse, horror, or light-hearted reads like comedy and romance. They all have their own quirks and differences, but one thing that they all have in common is that they are strong in their own way, and they are all female leads. I don't necessarily judge by the strength of the main character but it just so happens that things usually only progress when the mc actually has the capability to do something (and isn't being an idiot all the time).

Preferences (relevant cos not everyone has the same criteria for a good novel with a female mc)

- physically strong mc & strong mentality/fortitude

- comedy/ not always serious/ author is able to understand how absurd the mc's situation is sometimes

- no sexism or unreasonable prejudices

- no filler (unless it's to build background or comedic relief)

- no family drama (as in no neglectful fathers, evil stepmothers, sisters or other unholy b*tches that go on for 200ch that you see too often in chinese period novels)

- great pacing

- enjoyable <<less
