I don't necessarily judge by the strength of the main character but it just so happens that things usually only progress when the mc actually has the capability to do something (and isn't being an idiot all the time).

Preferences (relevant cos not everyone has the same criteria for a good novel with a female mc)

- physically strong mc & strong mentality/fortitude

- comedy/ not always serious/ author is able to understand how absurd the mc's situation is sometimes

- no sexism or unreasonable prejudices

- no filler (unless it's to build background or comedic relief)

- no family drama (as in no neglectful fathers, evil stepmothers, sisters or other unholy b*tches that go on for 200ch that you see too often in chinese period novels)

- great pacing

Novels with strong female leads , funny female leads etc etc.

Some female leads are op[overpowered] okay but I like them too there is nothing wrong with them being op because the novels are really good to read.
Some are strong from the beginning. some of them have character growth from being weak to strong and here strong doesn't necessarily mean physical strength its also their mental strength I am talking about.

Some female leads might be a little bit rude  but those books are entertaining and well done for a one time read And also for once I can read jerk female lead instead of a jerk male lead alright.

NOT RANKED BY NUMBER. Lots of diversity in the novels. Different kinds like zombie apocalypse, horror, or light-hearted reads like comedy and romance. They all have their own quirks and differences, but one thing that they all have in common is that they are strong in their own way, and they are all female leads. Mentally, physically, talent-wise, etcetera. Some have romance and some don't.  If that's your cup of tea, go right ahead! I don't put bad novels on this list. Laughed so hard I started choking. These novels aren't meant to be read in silence, ooh no, you will laugh out loud. Whether the time is 1 pm or 1 am you will scream laugh, and cry laugh, and cackle evilly.

My type of humor? I'll explain. Shameless. No-face. Smashing the pot.

Don't understand? Just pick a novel and find out. These novels don't just have "moments" of humor, the plot/characters/setting/situation is entirely fcking hilarious.

(4/8) Equal parts romance to other aspects, but ML is nice so it's alright --- 

(4.5/8) Equal parts romance or ML appears as much as MC but MC is the dominant one/stronger than the ML ---

(5/8) Romance is a big portion of the story or the ML appears as much as the MC and it's not her own story anymore, more like their shared story --- 

(6/8) ML appears so much is the MC even still the protagonist at all?

(7/8) MC is smart but in front of the ML becomes a dumb dumb / MC is strong but in front of ML becomes a doormat - immediate dropping of the story --- 

(7.5/8) MC is strong but ML is stronger and she can't escape his grasp everytime - the imbalance makes me curse and swear --- 

(8/8) MC is totally useless without ML and always needs his saving. Why is she even the MC?
