Edit: Woa, I never expected that many users to like obsessive MLs, feels great to see those with the same 'guilty pleasures' as mine (I don't feel guilty though, not because my taste is good but because I lack shame). Personally, I prefer MLs who are usually ruthless and somewhat cruel to everyone but the MC, whom they treat with utmost love, care and respect, of course they're still 'toxic' in a way they wouldn't leave the MC alone or ever separate from him, but to make him stay, they'd rather pamper him to the hell and back than use torture or abuse. A big plus if they're paired with sly and morally grey MCs.

However, I like it because even if I hate a ML or two, there's bound to be at least one other ML in the harem who might be likeable. On the other hand, 'The Cruel Tyrant' has a similar theme — a modern dude transmigrating and carrying the responsibility of restoring a kingdom on his shoulders, but it's a harem with different kind of MLs so even if you skip the parts of some MLs you dislike, there's still around 2-3 MLs left you can enjoy reading about. That's not to say I like every harem novel or dislike every non-harem novel though, it's just that I'll like anything as long as it won't have those insufferable characters I'm forced to sit and watch. <<less
