The summary for this story makes it seem like the relationship will be developing fairly quick, however that is not the case. I am in chapter 51 out of approximately 70 chapters and they are still not together. It is super slow to develop. As of chapter 50 the MC still thinks he likes girls, even though this is an ABO world it kind of feels like this is a regular world with the MC struggling with his sexuality. 

Mind you, while I am complaining about the slow development it is still a very entertaining story to read. Just go into it with the right mentality. It is a slice of life story, with the two main leads being in high school. The relationship will develop slowly and the ML falls in love first. But they are still kids, still immature (even though the ML is extremely self possessed and restrained), and the MC is struggling with his sudden designation change. It will take him a long time to even be aware of the ML's feeling.  <<less

Basically a collection of short stories with lots of face-slapping. There is an overarching plot, but 6 arcs in and it is very minor.  It is a fun read, even if all the arcs feel rushed and there is no sense of danger since the main character is so over-powered. He is always the best at everything (smartest, strongest, best scholar, best singer, best composer), this series truly likes to deal in hyperbole, the MC has no parallel. They give a reason for this (all his previous reincarnations as a villain), but it just has the effect on the reader of not feeling excitement since you know he is going to be ok regardless of... more>> circumstances, and it also makes us roll our eyes when he succeeds tremendously in every incarnation.

That being said, so far it is still pretty fun to read, since the world setting changes continuously and it is fun to see the two main characters get together again and again.  <<less

The main character transmigrates into a story, meets the original ML of the story and starts a friends with benefit relationship with him. They help each other deal with some unpleasant people in their lives by acting extremely dramatic and over the top possessive. They fall in love without realizing, but the MC is hesitant to act out on his feelings since he knows the ML is destined to fall in love with someone else.    

My main issue is when the original protagonist of the story appears. The situation goes down the same way as how it did with the previous antagonist. Like literally the same. So we had all this build up about meeting the main block to their relationship for it to fall flat. Not to mention that the whole thing was a small blip on the story, all this build up for nothing. 

Two other small annoyances I have with it are the following. The car metaphors were kind of funny at first, but they become tiring and infantile the more they are repeated. The ML is a bit childish, which the author tries to justify, but it is a bit annoying.

All in all I am about halfway through and will try to finish it, but I might need to take a break for a bit since I am not that invested in the story at the moment.  <<less

Just started reading (in chapter 22.2 now). So far I am interested enough to continue, but not crazy about it. The "Reader" does not really... more>> hate the novel (just pretends to to get it more attention), he is also deaf and has some trauma due to this. He has issue communicating, not only because of his disability but also due to crippling social anxiety (due to past trauma). The "Protagonist" seems very harsh and overbearing so far, and at this point completely obsessed with the MC.  <<less

The start is pretty slow. MC goes back to one year before the apocalypse. Most novels only go back a few months or speed through this "preparation" stage. However, in this story we have a whole year, and we are not speeding through at all. At 20 chapters in we are still about halfway through that "before" year. Lots of spiritual cultivation, and training, and buying, which are frankly not the most interesting. 

By chapter 20 the ML has shown up once, but due to the quality of the translation it was a bit hard to understand what was going on. You can kind of deduce things by the end, but mostly there are some big chunks where we are left wondering WTF just happened. 

Also, not sure if it is due to the translation or to the original writer, but the MC has some inconsistencies when it comes to his feelings about the ML (before they meet in the second apocalypse). At some point he is saying that he just wants to take care of him and keep him safe and repay the debt he owes. But then he is saying how he misses him and has feelings for him, but then goes back to the original thought of just taking care of him. To be honest going by his past experiences it doesn't make sense for the MC to feel anything other than gratitude for the ML at this point, since their relationship was not particularly romantic in any way (originally the MC was forced to be in a relationship with ML by the ML). 

Update: By chapter 41 we have a new translator, so thankfully the translations get a lot smoother. Sadly the story is still mehh. The apocalypse has finally started. We have taken a weird detour into gang life and the brotherhood of the ML. The ML is also weirdly obsessed with the MC, and the whole "kitten" thing is a bit cringe for me. Idk how I feel about this and if I will pick it back up or drop. 

Update: On chap. 63. This novel can get very morally uncomfortable. While in a true end of the world situation we imagine that we will see the worse of humanity (we could also see the best, who knows), we are reading a "light novel" which to me means likeable main characters to follow as they survive, fall in love, and some good face slapping and revenge against the ones that wronged them the first time around. What I was not expecting or liked at all is for the main characters to be utterly ruthless. Killing children and innocent bystanders because they are in a blind rage. Or being calculative and manipulative with their followers. In other words these are not tortured heroes doing what they need to survive, or redeemable antiheroes that feel remorse with their decisions. These are bad people that don't even feel like they have done anything wrong. Even the author comes across as "yeah they did so and so, who cares".  <<less
