Ling Meng is a high-ranked casual gamer playing “The Legend of the Galaxy”. Infamous for his poison tongue, he’s known in the forums as Lemon Dad and he carefully cultivates a following of black powder fans over time. The trajectory of his fate completely changes the day he plays a match against the popular god-tier live stream anchor, Mangosteen. A meme created out of his dying words makes him a countrywide laughingstock and he begins to stalk Mangosteen to determine his rival’s weaknesses…to beat him in a match for revenge!

They fight with each other, stream with each other, and even exchange a naked photo with each other.

This is the love story of a lemon and a mangosteen.

You will feel very happy reading this novel. The author did really well in shooting my heart with so much fluff. It is also really funny and the relationships with everyone are really pleasing. You won't be able to stop reading, I finished this in 2 days im so sad there's no more T^T

The character descriptions are pretty rich and the plot is good too. Just read it, you won't regret!

Why is this not more popular?!!!

So adorable!

My personal favorite is the little shou's funny song. The translator was nice enough to supply us with a link to the song (which is really good btw) and the lyrics. Hahahahaa. Just thinking about it makes me smile like crazy!

I was blinded by the PDA and as a single dog was fed with loads of dog-food....I probably got diabetes and need to go buy some insulin....

SO. MUCH. FLUFF. I really needed this after binge reading The Antelope and The Night Wolf. MC is actually SO MENG. MENGMENG I WILL BE YOUR MOTHER POWDER. ML is also just so good. He’s absolutely perfect boyfriend material. It’s great because the romance is so laid back and sweet. No drama, no yandere ML, no dark pasts—although I do like them, this is like a breath of fresh air. It’s defintely good for when you’re feeling down.

Plot: basically just like their daily lives as streamers. Think Twitch streamers lol.... more>> MC’s live streams seem like something I’d watch haha. I love streamers or youtubers that do random stuff. It’s always funny and fresh.

My favourite part is the fans. They’re so cute and funny !

I will admit that the text is sometimes confusing. I don’t blame the translator though! They’re trying their best. It must be difficult with all the internet and gaming slang. I’m just grateful for the speedy and pretty good Translations. Grammar is fine and I can get the gist of what’s happening based on context and footnotes. Highly recommend! <<less

GET YOUR HAPPY FRUIT PUNS HERE~~ ᕕ (ᐛ) ᕗ

A fantastic, lighthearted, BL entertainment read about gamer livestreamers! (Yes they are ALL named after various fruits and veges...) The balance between the gaming parts and the RL parts are fantastic. Absolutely hilarious MC is known for his arrogant/sarcastic one-liners that he sends off after every match with other players. One such match ends up with him exploding in popularity because it was streamed live by the ML, an official channel streamer.

Absolutely EVERYONE is precious in this story; you don't get... more>> any angst or negative drama, just tons of supportive fluff (including the coming-out to the family!).

I literally could not stop laughing when the MC started rapping about mining and his roommate crashed his stream with accompanying dance...

I've just read the 4 chapter teaser, and I find it funny and interesting. From the cover image I thought it's about a cafe industry or something beverage related.. But no, it's actually about online gaming, lol. The MC is a gamer who managed to reach the bottom of the top ranked players but instead of his prowess with his gaming skills, he's famous because of his poisonous tongue. Players are actually happy to be defeated by him just to read his poisonous last words. Then ML, a god-tier player,... more>> came along and defeated our MC in the game. MC thought that since ML is such a famous player, he'd forget he ever existed and sent him a message that is so unlike MC's 'image'. READ IT to find out but I guess you can surmise what it is. Anyway, MC didn't know that ML was actually livestreaming their game and everyone saw MC's message. Long story short, the internet exploded and their lives become virtually connected, lol.

The story is a bit fast-paced for me but maybe because the chapters are just short? IdK, it just feels like a bit rushed. Like, why not give more examples of why his poisonous tongue is famous? Or at least give a scenario that will make me believe that this 'skill' of his is enough to garner that attention. All I got is a small sample and from that I have to trust that it's enough to make him famous and actually have many fans. Oh, well, maybe it's going to be expounded further, as well as who he is outside of the game. It's interesting though, and funny. Something to read and look forward to while waiting for other novels to get updated. I hope the translater continue this. I'll probably update this review after reading the next chapters, but so far, it's worth a try. <<less

This story is super hilarious and cute. Prolly one of the best "game-themed" BL I've have read. The plot itself is nothing extravagant but no doubt every chapter makes me want to read more. Tbh, I think I was hypnotized by our MC's cuteness 😂

Really recommend this for people who wants a break from our usual heavy yaoi plot. Definitely worth the read!

(Easily 4.5 stars, if it allowed half-stars.)

This is an entertaining, witty and easy-to-read story. It features a delightfully lively, quirky, cute, skilled (but a little naive) MC and a fairly "perfect", but personable and pleasant, ML. There's no real drama in this, but it's enjoyable to see the way the relationship between the couple gradually builds up through their mainly-online interactions. Normally, I get a bit bored when stories feature reactions from internet fans (they're often just used as a mindless tool, mainly in entertainment industry stories, and... more>> drag the story out), but in this story the fans feel like the main supporting character and I got rather fond of them.

As well as the overall storyline, I enjoyed the light-hearted intelligence this author writes with, and the translation is good, too.

I just recently finished reading The Antelope and Night Wolf, by the same author, and enjoyed that this one was was a simpler, less-convoluted story (and that the ML is also much better in this one). You don't have to have read that one first, but there is one fleeting/unimportant cameo you won't get if you haven't.

This is a story to just sit back and enjoy, without having to deal with inane writing or plot, nor annoyances or drama and angst. Quite delightful. <<less

ITS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!

Love the series and how it can make you into a dribbling mess suffering from an overdose of cute fluffiness! So adorable, and highly entertaining and humorous. You gotta love the dynamic between the two mains! 10/10!

what the actual heck. This is literally the cutest thing to exist on this planet. And while there is drama, it's so f**king hilarious. Also, everyone is SUPER supportive: the school peers, the fans, the mother-in-laws. Everyone is so friendly, even the rivals and it's just so perfect

Very very very cute, whether it is Meng Meng himself or MangNing.
Very very very funny, with the situations Lemon Daddy would get into.
Very very very sweet, heartwarming, and light-hearted.

In any case, it's a really good read for anyone who just wants to relax and read a cute gaming novel. It made me really happy while I was reading it, and I bet it will do the same for you!... more>> (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝) The fluff and sugar will give you diabetes, seriously. <<less

Honestly, I was a little skeptical about this at first, but OH MY GOSH!!! This is just sooo cute! It's like food for the soul after reading so many of those depressing, long a**, slow moving romances. It's a really great read that makes you laugh and smile until your stomach hurts. The translation is awesome and, wahhhhh it's just sooo good!

This is a funny, fluffy story and very different from Antelope and Night Wolf. The MC isn't super smart or talented, but he's not stupid, either. Impulsive and a little rash at times, but not a total idiot (thankfully). He's easy to relate to because he's fairly normal. He is, of course, dense when it comes to the ML and to his own feelings. The ML is sweet, not overly domineering and possessive and he's intelligent and down to earth. The family interactions were warm. Most of all I love... more>> the fan comments on Lemon Daddy's live stream, he's so easy to tease.

The story gets a five because in the end I was completely satisfied with it. That's really rare in online novels, usually there are one or two things that I feel dissatisfied with in the end but not here; from the translation to the writing it was all very well done. This isn't a story with angst and drama, it's all about humor, sugar and dog food and it leaves you with a big smile at the end of each chapter. This is a story i'll come back to and read again when I'm down and need a mood boost. Also, I would love to see a live action version (maybe from Taiwan so it doesn't get changed or banned like it would in China).

Oh and the game is, for all intents and purposes, a slightly bastardized edition of Starcraft, so if you know that game you should be familiar with the layout here. Even if you don't know starcraft the descriptions here are general enough that you won't get lost and confused by overly detailed technical descriptions (unlike certain other LoL based stories). <<less

This is so funny and cute!

MC has a poisonous tongue but he's also cute in an innocent tsundere way. And ML loves teasing MC online but he's diligently taking care of MC ^^ Their relationship is progressing in a really sweet way. It's refreshing and fun to read!

I also love how the author named everyone after fruits! Even their real names are homonyms heh

The gaming aspect isn't too hard to follow. The overall game structure is kind of like League of Legends (the ranking, streaming, etc aspects), but the gameplay... more>> itself is more tactics based where they have to build their resources and strategize their army to fight. <<less

I wish I could give this novel an extra star!

It's really hard to come across a novel that's perfect, for lack of a better description. It's hilarious, I found myself laughing out loud the entire time. It's got a cute, extremely likeable, shameless MC and a sweet, driven, doting ML.

The gaming aspect is really well done; not too much, not too little and fun to read (you won't find it confusing even if you don't game) ! MC and ML's fans are super supportive and just great entertainment.

The romance happened... more>> so naturally and the ending was simple but beautiful. It reminds me of what it feels like when you fall in love with someone who also loves you just as much; there is tacit understanding and the ease of being together that only comes along with that. <<less
