Not sure about Silent Reading, but in 2ha's case I believe it could be because, compared to other higher-ranked novels (like The Legendary Master's Wife, Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil etc etc), it's pretty new and once its popularity sky-rocketed, it got published with eng translations and the fan translation was removed, so about 40% of readers of this novel probably bought the novel instead of reading it on NU — which is why they didn't add it to their reading list and those readers weren't counted.  <<less

I'm tired of the double standards, third parties, unnecessary drama, scumbags etc. This list features extremely devoted couple! 1v1 HE. Totally safe to read. 

Gong (Seme) and Shou(Uke) are each others first & only s*xual partner; first & only love.  (Either it's explicitly mentioned, mentioned by the author, mentioned between the lines, or assumed in some cases if no other partners/ prior experience is mentioned). No exes, cinnabar moles, substitutes etc. 

No other partners in case of a seperation or breakup. 

No getting r*ped/ assaulted/ kissed/ mol*sted by passerbys or supporting leads. No love triangles or leading others on. If there's a harem it should be dismissed by the end. If either Gong or Shou are actors, then they should be the type that doesn't do intimate scenes. 

No kids involving other women (surrogacy). No marriage of convenience with other woman.

It starts from the stuff I like (the order is based on themes, setting and genre not how much I like them), then goes into classics territory, then into "stuff that were kind of entertaining and okay but definitely not amazing" and then into "okay but kind of boring" and lastly into "I would rather have not wasted my time reading it but the ratings were good so some people may like it" (the ones here were either really bad or were good at first or in someway built expectation only to heavily disappoint). I've recently also added ones that were bad and had bad ratings which speaks for itself. Novels that aren't on NU but are interesting are in the comments.

I've removed most of the novels that were categorized as smut from this list but some of the yaoi (and also some of the shounen ai) stuff may still have some explicit scenes. 

Also, I really hate lecturing and virtue signaling in novels but I forgot to add comments for that and now I don't remember which ones were like that. If I remember I'll add that to my comments. <<less

Those novels are well-written, with coherent story, coherent protagonists, coherent fantasy/modern world-building. Coherence and consistency in both plot and character behaviour are really important for me. I am not looking for realism. I am looking for cohesion and escapism. I don't mind characters who are OP, filthy rich, tsunderes, yanderes, geniuses, black-belly, child-like adults, evil demons, amoral characters, shota, obssessive, possessive etc.. i don't mind excessive characters because that's exactly what i like. I like that in Asian lit, those marginal characters are heroes and not defined by standardised morality. In Western lit, i don't meet many characters like that, and i have 45yrs of reading western literature. The only character set i avoid are indecisive protags who have no self-knowledge and keep self-analysing which i find quite boring. IRL, i also avoid such people lol... <<less

Somethings I never had the chance to note because I (also) filled up the description boxes’ capacity limit in the first list. 

1. I have not read all the novels on this list YET. All read novels are on part 1 with the according reviews. I made this list so I could have something visual to look at when looking for good quality novels to read. I judge "good quality novels" by seeming reviews and ratings or perhaps the book has an interesting premise you don’t usually find.

2.  I look for a capable MC and a subjectively respectful ML, but that doesn’t necessarily mean every book I put here fits that requirement. Once again, there is always exceptions. 

3. I don't like looking at the rating of the novel when there are barely any reviews. Thus I look at the reviews. If the reviews (even scarce) like it, it has potential. Thus, FME indicates that a novel has been added regardless of NU rating.
