Also, I love being able to scroll through and seeing immediately which ones have been completed since I last checked the translations. I also include any translation detail like where to find them if they aren't on novelupdates so I can read the whole story without getting stuck halfway because of no translations. Not in any particular order. It seems to be super and genuinely heartwarming. Or at least the Ban family is.
"I cracked up so much when FL said to her husband-to-be: "Youngman, you have such a good vision, I am very optimistic about you" when he was proposing her, LMFAO" ~ Honefuusen
"The FL, Ban Hua, and her family are rich, lazy imperial relatives. The FL is fiery, honest, enjoys beauty, but has a warm heart. The FL dreams that in 5 year's time, a new Emperor will take away their wealth and status and she will be killed. As a result, the Ban family decides to live each day luxuriously and happily while they can. The ML is a very handsome, capable, black-bellied official who slowly notices Ban Hua, enjoys her warm fiery personality, and helps her out. Initially, he sees her family as lazy and extravagant, but as he slowly observes them more closely, he soon realizes that her family actually has the best character, and the family is actually pretty lovable and adorable.
This author tends to write complex, well thought-out characters, whether it's historical imperial politics or modern BL stories, so I'd recommend all of her/his novels. It's Butterfly's Shadow Beneath the Moon." ~ dramamonster
"The Ban family and the ML are so endearing. The family love, as well as the romance between MC and ML are also written well. The MC is really someone you can't help but love. She's very smart, but she's so selective in what she puts importance in that she appears dumb to other people.
+ the author did not exaggerate s*x in this novel. There's no waking up at noon because the ML tossed MC all night. There's also no r*pey scenes, MC is just as aroused as ML. There's no fainting because the MC lacked strength. It might be a small thing, but I really appreciate that finally an author does not think it's cool to add mindless stuff like that here. " ~ Nelle

"This is a mixed rebirth and transmigration story. Modern soul Zhou Tong wakes up in the body of 11 year old Mu Xi Yao. Originally, Mu Xi Yao was chosen in the imperial selection to enter the royal family as a concubine and suffers greatly there until her death many years later. Upon her death, a family treasure sends her back to be reborn in her 11 year old body. However, there is a mistake and modern woman Zhou Tong instead wakes up in her body. Armed with Mu Xi Yao's memories of the future and her modern smarts, Zhou Tong has to right the karmas in this ancient lifetime and prepare for her future in the royal family. She relies mainly on her rebirth memories and modern smarts to protect herself. She is not very OP, so the story seems more realistic. It's like a lighter version of The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, one of my favourite novels. " ~ dramamonster
"Compared to its other counterparts in the 'Ancient China Romance' genre aimed at teens and young women, this novel is actually written quite well, with actual character development and emotional depth on the romance aspect of the story with a little bit of low level angst too (on behalf of the former pre-transmigrated MC as well as the other harem women).
As noted in other reviews, its very much a slice of life type romance novel with some political intrigue mixed into the background, without the same one dimensional character archetypes you find in so many other of these novels. The writing is quite vivid, descriptive and well paced enough that the plot never gets too stale.
The main character is a transmigrated soul, who basically robbed the original's body and rebirth by accident, through her casual schemes and playful personality, she gains the attention and affection of the ML almost immediately. You read about how his deeply ingrained mindset of polygamy changes as his feelings for her become more sincere, contrasting to the previous life's incarnation of the typical scummy emperor playing around with his concubines. Furthermore rather than the typical one sided demonization of other rival women, you read about their perspectives and you truly do empathise with them, those non MCs such as the abandoned wife and forgotten concubines whose livelihoods depend solely on this one man's favour, and are raised to believe their whole life's purpose is to be confined at home and birth sons.Throughout the plot, the MC maintains a kind of mask, manipulating the ML and adjusting her personality accordingly to fit his tastes and there is some back and forth between them as he recognises that she is not in love with him, but towards the ending, she does reflect on her feelings and how without her noticing, the 'enchantress' fell in his trap. (Btw, its not like other stories in that she never reveals her transmigrator/rebirth origins to him) " ~ jellybeanhater

"FL was an Empress who died in childbirth after her family fell from power. She is reborn 3 years later into the body of a young girl about to enter the Imperial harem draft. She decides to go, so that she can protect her 3 year old son in the palace. Interestingly, while she has a different name, she has the exact same face as when she was 16 years old in her previous life.
If you like historical novels by authors Qian Shan Cha Ke (Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, Rebirth of a Star General, etc.), Butterfly's Shadow Beneath The Moon (Eight Treasure Trousseau, To Be A Virtuous Wife, I Am This Type of Woman, etc.,) or Mask Feast (Counterattack of the Cannon Fodder Chambermaid, etc.), you'll probably like this one. Unlike the cover, it's not a fluffy face-slapping kind of story, but a thoughtful, detailed, rebirth story. Also, the translation is excellent." ~ dramamonster

Same author as "Chronicles of Primordial Wars" which I adored!
"Despite the fact that you're reading about a story from a cat's point of view, it's not boring at all. Actually, I was surprised it was so interesting. The cat doesn't try to prove to everyone that he's a genius cat. He's just getting through life like an everyday cat and the family treat him as a smart cat who understands human speech.
You get to see interaction between the cat and his other animal friends. It's such a good idea because probably many are curious if animals have intelligence and if they're friends with each other when the owner is out of the house. The author really makes this fun to read. There's no direct dialogue since they can only make animal sounds but the cat has thoughts and surprisingly, there's Morse code! " ~ nixxara
"This was a pleasant surprise. I expected it to be a fun slice-of-life along the lines of 'Aristocats' or 'The secret life of pets' or one of the other innumerable animals-who-talk movies we all saw growing up. But Strange Life of a Cat is more interesting than my initial expectations. This certainly is a slice-of-life, and is as heartwarming as much as any animated feature. But this is not the happy-fluffy disney world where the bad guys are bumbling animal control or comically evil fluffy white cats or whatever. No, SLC exists in the dangerous world of... urban China. Now, given the fact that our main character is a person who appears to have transmigrated back in time fifteen years into the body of a cat, there is some definite magic realism scattered around the world. But most of the danger our MC infrequently comes across is something any Chinese cat that ventures beyond the confines of the home might find. There is a certain culture shock for westerners reading this as we see a society where humane treatment for animals is by no means enshrined. Strays might be kicked or abused just because they're there. They even have to deal with the danger of being captured and sold to restaurants. Also interesting is the spectrum of intelligence found in other animals than our MC. On the one hand we have a macaw who likes to sing old folk songs and can chat in fluent mandarin or a cat who is proficient in Morse code. Then there are others who are just as silly as any real animal. What is fun is that our MC doesn't really differentiate between them; some are his friends or acquaintances and they are who they are.Another unique aspect of SLC is the way our MC interacts with humans, specifically 'his' family. They know and accept that he's about as smart as any human. He's treated as a big brother to the kids, albeit a furry one." ~ Sicarius

Generally I dislike QT but this is all about different tangentially related to farming worlds so I might give it a read for the variety and once its completed.
"This novel's title is absolutely accurate. She transmigrates into cannon fodder. Her system shows up. She farms/does something else tangentially agriculture related (farming, winemaking, perfume crops, bamboo crafts, eco-resorts, ranching, growing medicine, growing flowers, growing spices... in short, a lot of growing). And then she does it all again. It's like a 4.6 for the farming novel genre. The overarching plot is basically irrelevant. Romance exists in some of the arcs, but overall, is more of a somewhat perfunctory side plot; the ML is sometimes just a tool-man. Sometimes she gets a wholesome family, sometimes she gets a dogblood plot family. Sometimes they matter, and sometimes they don't.Either way, she's going to farm. And that farming is also the highlight of this novel.I think it's nice and has an interesting variety of options. One arc is being a rancher in New Zealand, for example, and that's also the main arc where she spends most of her time out of China/fantasy China. Most of the people in New Zealand were portrayed as perfectly friendly, so I don't really understand where the other reviewer is getting "disses other countries" from.Sure, they aren't as OP as her, but... the MC is 1) the Main Character, 2) probably well over a thousand years old with multiple lifetimes of knowledge, and 3) has an OP system on hand. It's kind of hard to be more OP than her. She also wins competitions all the time because... well... it should be obvious why, right?I actually liked the fact that it faithfully sticks to farming/farming related tasks in every arc. The food is also pretty good; it's not a foodie novel because farming is definitely, 100% the main theme, but food's often present and described well. Each sub-plot is fairly engaging (although I think some of the arcs could've been extended instead of being wrapped up so quick, but that's QT for you), but the really, really big caveat is that you have to like reading about farming. If you don't, it's already over. If you have to skim past farming, don't bother; you're missing the whole point." ~ greenHills

"It's humbling to see the tyrant dragon, who used to be rich/powerful/handsome be so dependent on his hard-working wife that he was forced to marry. She's the breadwinner of the fam, lol." ~ spicyeggroll
"Though there is a Male Yandere tag, the ML is very mild compared to other male yandere leads, like so mild. He has thoughts of tying FL to his side regardless of her wishes, but he never does anything close to that.Still he is possessive, easily jealous and paranoid, but he is very honest and open about it whenever they are together and FL never felt uncomfortable. Plus, she would always try her best to clear any misunderstandings immediately. ML feels very inferior about his appearance due to being a hybrid dragon, but FL would constantly reassure and support him. It's so wholesome seeing them show their care/love for one another in their own ways. This novel is hidden gem, please give it a try if you're interested. It's a happy ending, although the last chapter make you question if it actually is :) The writing style is not face-slapping and being op just because you know the plot of the book, but more in a 'just trying to survive and get through everyday by yourself way', and I find that a breath of fresh air in this genre. "The story of the novel was a rather comfort read for me. Or maybe it was just me being weak to handsome old gentlemen wearing gold-rimmed glasses. I really enjoyed the characters of the novel, it felt very lively to read and Zhou Yan (the stepson) is an absolute blast to be around lmao. He and MC are the perfect comedy duo in the story lololol." ~ Arrange
"In my opinion, MC character is realistic. Some of reviewer wrote that MC is egoistic and just want to be richer, seriously... hey who doesn’t like money? Who doesn’t wanna be billionaire? " ~ silent hobby
"A nice, light, no-nonsesnse romance.
I really love the character settings and developments in this novel, it's like the author is building a very uniquely tailored personality for each one of her characters, including the extras. She can portray the childishness and immaturity of her teen characters, including ML's son's rebelliousness, and we can really feel the tension. On the other hand, she can also portray the maturity of the older characters like ML and his ex wife.
The ML's character is very mature, consistent and stable, a very uncommon one in between all these domineering-tyrant MLs hype. " ~Eclat123
"Really enjoyed the family vibes in this story. It does start out fairly boring and you'd think Jiang JinJin is money-minded but no she's just very thrifty and practical in her thinking. I love her slow romance with Zhou Mingfeng and how their relationship developed. Her relationship with the son Zhou Yan is also really fun to read. I love this little family alot. Even the extras are super fun to read.

Every novel has a low IQ supporting female that serves as a foil to the female lead’s good and beautiful sides. She’s the stepping stone on the path of love between the male and female leads, destined to live her life doing s*upid things until her tragic end.One day, all of the villainous supporting females came to their senses. They began to rebel! And quit! For the sake of world order, the System found a human to take their place.World 1: The female lead risks her life to shield the male lead while the supporting female quakes in a corner (and watches the show)Male Lead: ?? So you never loved me.
Supporting Female: He finally found out, looks like my job was a success. The end of the year bonus is mine!
"Everyone should give it a try! Its really hilarious novel and the plot is obviously different from any other quick transmigration stories.
Our Ye Wei is the "vicious-female-agent" whom roaming different world to gain her conciousness back in her real world. She needs to gain certain credits to be able to wake up from her vegetative condition. But then, what makes this novel interesting and different from other similar plot stories is, Ye Wei is very "plain and honest". Lol. She was very "dedicated" to her vicious female role and trying hard to "fused" herself well into every realms. Though mostly, her "plain and honest" character making the stories goes wrong lol." ~ Moonson
"This is actually a really fun read. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Ye Wei is basically trying to do her job and in the process, wrecks a few things. What I really loved was how the male leads were not brainless. Most of them could think for themselves which honestly surprised me because in most transmigration novels, the MLs do not have brain cells when it comes to the heroine. " ~ Miss Ruby
"This novel truly dedicate itself for a plot. Plot first, romance is second.Besides, the identity of the Main Lead in the end is still very interesting! He's not the usual First World Main Lead who chase the MC, nor he a bigshot in the system world! His identity is very interesting, and in my opinion, is rare.Even their love journey is also very interesting despite the low exposure and limited interaction of their romance. Though, I really hope to see more of their interaction in extra chapter... alas, there's no such things.Next, about plot. In every world, don't expect that the FL will fall in love with the world protagonist. NOPE. The FL is very proffessional and hardworking, and those protagonist in the many world are not special. However! Every single plot in the world is so touching and beautiful. And all of them are so... sad.You know, In a novel or drama we will always be given: a female protagonist, a male lead, and second female lead.If we see from the a female protagonist, of course we will love the protagonist and hate the second female lead who are usually braindead. It's infuriating that the female lead was harrassed over and over because the ML was close to her instead of those second female lead.If we see from the ML then we will also blame the vicious second female lead, with the saying of "Love can't be forced! Just because you love me, does it mean I should love you back!?"But in fact, when we see from the second female lead's POV, they're also pitiful. It's really unfair. Most second female lead are very pretty, are capable, are amazing, etc, but they lost in the face of "fated love" between the ML and female protagonist. In the end, who was wrong? No one.
Only the indecisive ML who is wrong.
And in this novel, our MC here give justice towards the abandoned and forgotten second female lead!" ~ Efu-sama

"One of the healthiest relationships I have seen in this kind of novel. Both the MC and ML see each other as equals and, even if they want to protect the other, they both know to give each other agency, trust, and freedom.
The MC does not suddenly turn into a damsel in distress once the ML comes around; neither does she become a straight up sap.
The plot is complex, but also straightforward. The author impresses us, not with a dog blood court intrigue, but with the creativeness and thought process of the characters.
Characters are not there to “be there” they continually pop up and play a role. And not just a role in the MC/ML’s romance." ~ LeashQuiche
"This is one of those novels I read only for the romance and kilig factor that ended up making me fall in love with the MC instead. I love how she's sooo capable and sticks to her values. Honestly, the MC might as well be the ML of another novel. I say another novel, because as OP and awesome as the MC is, the ML complements her soooo well. He's the dark type, but not really a yandere? Like, he's not irrationally dark like the cliche, he actually has a personality, a backstory, and a motive. But don't get me wrong, he's still super intense and cunning and asfjdalksdhakhdsfa. Same as homegirl, she's so fleshed out but mysterious that as readers we can't wait but anticipate the moments that the ML will discover these OP traits of hers. I'm so freaking ready, haha." ~ here for the wronged side characters

"Cold, tsundere-ish FL who has been hurt deeply in her first life, making her close herself up and focus on maintaining her family safety and making money (super workaholic) x a green tea, black-bellied, scheming ML who loves to act.
Simple story about a battle for survival for a cannon fodder family through the efforts of the FL and ML. The story isn't deep and antagonists are defeated quite easily. However, the highlight of the novel is the subtle romance between the cold, calculative almost tsundere FL with a green-tea black bellied ML. There's also many fun and interesting side characters that make the novel more interesting to read.
Many might not like the FL in this story but I like that her first life shaped how she is in her new rebirth. She's been hurt and don't open up easily. The ML is also someone who fakes his emotions and is even more unfeeling than the FL but hides it behind his gentleman facade. The way the two leads interact and eventually fall in love is what I liked. They're both trying to find a way to build trust. The way they worked together is how they developed the relationship. " ~ ntww12
"The greatest thing about this novel is the distinct and memorable characters. MC and ML love money but only MC able to make money while ML spend them. If you know Kaguya sama love is war you will know that the FL and ML have this kind of dynamic - both of them are too proud to admit their attraction and trying to topple the other person first." ~ whitespade
"Talking points: Great translations! Although the chapters are split in parts, the translator has frequent updates. Very very minor errors, like subject-verb agreement and other random grammar things that don't matter for the flow of the story. It's super readable - thank you translator! Literally a HOOT. You know it's a good story when it makes you laugh out loud. It's been a while since I've read such refreshing side characters that pop off the page. Kudos to the author! FL's brothers: monk-like first bro who's the zen stone of the fam, zany teddy bear sixth bro who likes cooking (but also poison!), and popular seventh bro who everyone likes. Still waiting on second and fifth bro to appear though! ML's servants: an OCD sweeper who not only sweeps dirt but sweeps heads off (I love him omg), housekeeper who's always reminding the ML of how poor he is, eccentric poison lady chef, and the lazy laundry dude who has yet to make many appearances. The banter: all the banter <3 Main couple is cunning and stingy. The ML is a sharp actor who looks all weak but has lots of schemes in his mind. Refreshing that he's noted as "plain" - we stan a white lotus-acting ML who's a wolf in sheep's clothing. The FL is a transmigrator who used to be a venture capitalist. Loves to make investments (lol, her ex-fiance was just a failed "stock") and good at making money. She convinces the ML to get in a marriage to protect her fam bc she knows he's very smart and scheming. It's so rare to see such a balanced couple in a Cnovel. Usually I feel like there are pushes and pulls, and one has more power than the other. But their synergy is absolutely *chef's kiss* and they scheme so well together. At face value you think the FL holds the power bc she's luring the ML with promises of money, but the ML can leave her ship anytime. He hemorrhages money but only bc he's keeping up his connections and backing, so he has a pretty good foundation. There's a reason why he initially rejected the FL so much and she had to chase after him in the beginning, lol. I'm not sure how this dynamic will continue in the future but while it looks like the FL holds the upper hand (and I think she slightly does), I think the ML brings a lot to the table too. Addressing the topic of unlikable FL: I liked her, even if her characterization is purposefully unlikable in the story. She's proactive, stingy, and direct - and she makes sure everyone knows that. She doesn't give a f*ck about what other people think about her and honestly, fits the bar for an ex-investor. Risky expenditures reap risky rewards, and she plays by those rules. Although we're early in the romance game, I can predict the ML falling first and her just girlbossing her way to success." ~ spicyeggroll

"Seriously, this is one of the few novels that can make me laugh to tears. This novel has so many good points so I'll just list down what I loved about this:
The MC is the rare type of pokemon with high IQ and an equally high EQ. The ml's experiences breaks my heart but his soulmate is the MC who fortunately has high emotional awareness. The good thing about this is that there. Is. No. Misunderstanding. The main couple is a match made in heaven. I'll gladly catch dog food from them. Their interactions, while fluffy, can be sultry due to the author's narration. This author is so good at describing simple things that applying medicine can even sound sexy lol.
The comedy. The nonchalant narrative of the situations in the book is so funny I don't know why hahahah there were some Chinese references that I did not understand but I can laugh at most of the jokes and it so made my day. This is one of the few novels that can put a s*upid goofy smile on my face due to the comedic situations and an aunty smile when stuffed with sweet-flavored dog food.
The characters have depth in them. They're either a fool, has social phobia, a lone wolf, black-bellied, a fanfic writer, a sword idiot, a pauper, and more. You can tell them apart from each other because they have their distinct personalities and I love that.
When science meets cultivation world, it's a level-up man. But the scene where He Zhizhou and Xu Yan used their sword as a propeller to create wind that would disperse the poison in the air made me go WTF LMAO. The way the author narrated that scene made me cry laughing. I can just imagine their s*upid faces T_T. But I really love that they applied scientific concepts in their world such as chemistry and physics. All hail atoms! All hail Newton's apple!
There are times when it's serious. Although this novel is mostly in comedic tone, the author did not fail to be serious when needed to be and sad when it should be. Moreover, there were side characters who have their background. The way the MC unravels mysteries and discover other people's stories are fascinating and does not make it boring.
Lastly, the CPs in this story are sooooo cute. Every couple makes me gush and giggle with sprinkled rainbow and strawberry shortcake topped with whipped cream. I always have my aunty smile ready to go.
This novel is perhaps not perfect but I'd rate it 5 stars because it made me happy. And as a reader, what more do you want? I certainly love to read stories that are not boring but also make me laugh, cry, and in the end leave with a goofy smile.
P.S. Those elders and Cheng Ying (ml's sword) in the story are certified CP fans. They howl and cry like hyenas when something happens with the main couple in the secret realm and they see it on their magic mirror (TV). They fight when the channel switches from the main couple and they bet when the main CP is going to get married. They are true CP warriors man. As a reader, I feel ashamed.Well, I do scream along with them when something heart-racing happens between the MC and ML lol.
P.S.S THE LAST CHAPTER MADE ME DIE AND COME BACK TO LIFE. THIS AUTHOR IS A MASTER OF AMBIGUITY. I SALUTE YOU. " ~ IloveWebNovels

"Is there such a thing as a perfect story? I don't know. But this novel certainly came close, I can't even see it as a story sometimes.
Just as a warning, this story isn't like others in the genre. It covers heavy topics with the realism and complexity it deserves, so I'd like to mention these trigger warnings:
Chi Xiaochi does not play god and lets the owners decide their next steps regarding their abusers, and actively paves the way for them to a brighter, healthier future.Chi Xiaochi is the best MC I've ever had the pleasure to know. The premise of this novel is "Scum Gong reconditioning", but in the hands of Chi Xiaochi it is so much more-- rather than revenge, what he truly focuses on is the future emotional wellbeing of the people whose lives he's redeeming. This difference is incredible, because then he treats the lives he temporarily takes over with utmost respect; this is not a frivolous game, nor a simple task-- it's a life. This man is the most empathetic, compassionate, strong, intelligent, and incredible individual I've ever had the pleasure to know. But those types of people are rarely born from happy lives. As the story progresses, we get to see how the Chi Xiaochi of today came to be born, and why he wanted to go back to his world just to sweep a childhood friend's tomb.061, his system, finds it curious, too. Step by step, world by world, he becomes more and more emotionally invested in his host, and discovers the entire entangled truth underneath it all...." ~ namio

"Hello, this is KEIGHTY and I'm the current translator of Route Of Retreat! I decided to finally drop my own review of this novel. 1v1. Power couple. It's not one-sided. They value each other just as much, mutual doting. "Rabbit that bites when provoked" shou MC × Hot, straightforward (vulgar, even), strong, and rich gong ML who "had a temper of a young master and a character of a gangster". Gong appears around Chapter 10, so let's be patient, okay?Personally, I really like this one, especially the characters. The comedic undertone is great. I also love their couple dynamics so much (which amusingly consists of physical and verbal fights, but they still end up in bed cuddling together gently XP). Gong might come up as someone who is playful, impatient, and easily annoyed, so he's quite intense sometimes. Anyway, He Yu is there to calm him down. He had Qiao Mudong on a leash, don't worry.
Content Warning: So far, there are 'brief' mentions of sensitive past events such as s*xual assault, non cons, dub cons, deaths (su*cides and accidents), and other mature themes that is to be read at your own discretion. Qiao Mudong once touched He Yu back in prison (although it's just a sentence long and wasn't explicitly narrated in the main text. However, it was written in the prison extras). Unfortunately, something like that happened between the two of them :' (but Qiao Mudong at that time wasn't the same as the Qiao Mudong that he is right now.
The current Qiao Mudong is very protective and cautious of He Yu, and he sometimes makes He Yu laugh which no one else could. They're actually sweet and casual with each other. For me, they're very unique. The obvious difference between them somehow balanced out their energies. Hoping y'all would still be with them 'til the end. This is a story about fixing and finding warmth in each other. " ~ k80

Recommended by a reviewer of another similar fic. Says this is much better. Lots of engagement with raising the kids. Wholesome and heartwarming.
It has been six years since the country stopped admitting college students, and no one knows when the college entrance examination will resume. Su Xiaoxiao, who was an outstanding student, was now humiliated after not being able to attend university.
She was too high for the people in the village and too poor for the people in the city. Due to this, she became a “leftover girl.”
An educated youth said he was willing to try. When Father Su then asked the educated youth when he planned to marry his daughter, the educated youth said it was Su Xiaoxiao who took the initiative to pester him before agreeing to give it a try, and he wanted to go back to the city in the future and did not plan to marry a country girl.
Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t take this humiliation anymore and decided to jump into the river to commit su*cide. This made her reputation become even worse. The matchmakers had to go around when they passed by the Su family’s house. Mother Su and Father Su were so angry that they almost rode a crane to death. They decided to marry their daughter in the city regardless of the dowry.
Han Cheng, who had lost his wife for a year, went back to the city to visit his sons on his vacation. His two sons, who were once white and chubby cubs, became skinny and gloomy after living with his teacher’s wife. He was so angry and immediately asked the matchmaker to go to the countryside and find him a match. The only requirement he asked for was, that she must be literate.
The matchmaker went to the Su family’s house, and there, Su Xiaoxiao, who came from the 21st century, didn’t raise any objections and accepted it.
However, the unreliable matchmaker actually invited another girl besides Su Xiaoxiao and arranged their dates at the same time.
Han Cheng asked Su Xiaoxiao, who looked like a good match for him: “Are you literate? Do you mind taking care of my two sons?”

"“I have forgiven him a long time ago.”
On a rainy night in Chang'an, fate conspires to collide a sword and a pendant, and with a blinding burst of light, the Heart Lamp finds its way into Li Jinglong, setting into motion a desperate wish from long ago...
So here's a premise: A human man with the power of Heart leads a team made up of a half-yao, wolf gege, one campy Foreigner, an encyclopedic nerd and a fish with hairy legs in the effort to keep Chang'an from the clutches of yaos that want to take it over. The plot seems to follow up its kickstart with slapstick comedy, and promises team-building as its core, with a found family as a destination.
It is not an adventure team-building slapstick comedy with the occasional historical fantasy plot points. If it is, I wouldn't be emotionally hungover 2 days after reading it.
Tianbao Fuyao Lu is a historical fantasy with the energy of a 60 hours JRPG: first two hours you're descending a secluded mountain you call your home and deal with catching a cat as your first mission, at the end you're killing god. It builds a structure it calls a team with one brick missing, leaving something just off-kilter enough to be noticeable, yet not so bad that it all came falling apart-- and then it takes apart the structure and rebuilds it so it fits the number of bricks it'd been given. It's a story that leads you in with tropes and yet seeds discrepancies, and then it deconstructs, recontextualizes, reframes what it had laid out in Book 1. As someone who loves this kind of things, it is frankly a joy to see all the ways things break down and have to be rebuilt. Li Jinglong is shown time and again in the first 2 books as a reliable, visionary Leader, and yet you could see the hairline cracks that results from such a 'role': it stunts the team's overall growth, it isolates him. But then that trope falls apart like smashed pottery and in its ruins everyone finally finds their places and grow, and the house of cards finally is rebuilt as a sturdy, new home.
And there is something beautiful about what this does to the main two leads, too. When we begin, Li Jinglong and Kong Hongjun feel firmly like they're designated ML and MC; Li Jinglong is in the position of power literally, figuratively, and all other -lys. But as circumstances break down, Li Jinglong's unraveling also gives Hongjun the push to self-actualize, and in his own way finds a place for his own voice as a leader next to Li Jinglong's, allowing for an endgame dynamic that feels less stagnant, more whole, more content. They fundamentally do not change. They just are open, honest and at peace with each other. After defying fate and nature itself, fighting again and again everything that seemed set in stone, that they started out typecasted and ended up comfortable in their own flawed skins felt a lot more meaningful.
In a construction sense, I think it's worth it to briefly contrast Tianbao with Dinghai Fusheng Records. Dinghai Fusheng Records is a lot more straightforward as a story, with relatively static character roles and arcs, dealing little with personal growth and more on understanding between the two main leads. It is half Tianbao's length. It is also immensely enjoyable as a plot-driven story. Tianbao, on the other hand, might at first feel like an eclectic mix that only shows its layers halfway through, reveling in how characters are forced to grow when everything that brought them confidence are smashed into pieces. As such, despite being equally as plot-heavy-- it is a historical fantasy set on the brink of a historical rebellion-- half the meat on Tianbao's bone is in how the characters learn and adapt. Furthermore, Tianbao also deals a lot more with cause and effect; if you feel like Dinghai doesn't deal enough repercussions in tying up its loose ends, then Tianbao might give you more of that oomph.
I really enjoyed Tianbao Fuyao Lu. I don't think it is particularly for everyone; the first two dozen or so chapters are somewhat emotionally agonizing to read, and I would know because I'm one of the translation's editors. But if what hurts you is how Li Jinglong is treated and how dysfunctional the team is, I have good news: this novel might actually be right for you." ~ namio

"I was reading this novel on Wattpad. After the first book, the translator has suddenly gone mute. So when I found out that this novel was picked up by another translator, I was really happy. And a fast updater too. But the thing is I can't understand the translation at all. I tried to keep up until chapter 63 but I just couldn't understand what was going on with the story. Some phrases are weird. Sentences are complex. In fact, the whole translation is not stable. Like when we are reading as a third person POV, it suddenly has gone off trails and become I/We which greatly confuses me. I really tried hard to keep reading since I loved the story. But my head aches just by trying to comprehend what is happening." ~ NoRestraint
" I definitely recommend this if you like a strong/independent MC who isn't feminized the usual way CN writers like to feminize BL protags (ironic since the MC is in a female body the first half of the story).
The MC is a very intelligent and incredibly capable general/strategist, so there are many scenes where the MC shines and successfully wins the battle or provides the winning battle strategy.
Despite the first half of the book being him transmigrated into the body of a woman, he doesn't act like one at all. It's quite easy to forget the MC's gender (kudos to the author for that) and readers get to see him as an individual instead.
The romance is enemies-to-lovers and slow burn (which I love!). There's a lot of mutual manipulation and bantering back-and-forth which make for great character development as feelings deepen. It also doesn't take center-stage of the plot.
The plot is like a simplified version of Three Kingdoms. There are essentially 3 major countries (a 4th one does show up as a small side plot) in conflict with each other, featuring 3 main couples (+3 minor couples, 6 total).
The war/politics are pretty simple but still done well and it's entertaining to see the MC out-wit the other side. The interwoven country politics and battles make the moments of humor/banter and romance more enjoyable.
The side characters are well-fleshed out, as well as their romances and motivations. There aren't a lot of cliche'd tropes here and people don't just exist to be faceslapped.
There's a lot about honor between gentleman, a kind of old-school historical feeling, so fallen enemies are more likely to be converted than straight-up killed, which is my jam.
PS. MC really isn't some heaven defying beauty (actually scarred/ugly) and characters aren't introduced with lengthy repetitive descriptions on how beautiful they are, so it's their actions that make them awesome, not their looks, which is absolutely a gem in CN ok?! " ~ earlgreyt

"A story that takes itself seriously.
Reading this sort of reminds me of the way US movies/dramas often portray the end of the world. As the author has bluntly stated in the synopsis - this is an apocalypse with no rebirth, no transmigration, no system - the sole focus is humanity fighting hard for their survival.
Here, humanity actually comes together to defeat a common villain: the aliens. Many touching topics are brought up: friendship, comradery, sacrifice. The political system hasn't entirely crumbled, likely because the cause of the apocalypse is aliens, not zombies. The government and the military remain an important role in coordination, battles and leading their citizens. Meanwhile, the Internet and many relevant institutes are still working fully to help humanity combat this unknown terror.
The leveling-up system is quite interesting as well. The characters' abilities need to be trained in battle, which could eventually manifest into many different forms. The logical thing here is that no one just suddenly know how to use their abilities, so every ability user needs to experiment and finds out for themselves how they can utilize their ability in the best way, be it for combat or for supporting the redevelopment of society.
The battles are very dramatic, I would say. Do expect that quite a lot of people will die along the process. The author is clearly strong at writing battle scenes, and I think that is one of the best things about this novel.
Now, on the characters. ML may be your staple OP fighter coming from a military background, but rest assured that he's no cookie cutter ML, especially with his "venomous" tongue and very bold character. MC may seem weak at first, but he's truly determined to get stronger, and trust me when I say that the author saves most of the golden fingers for him lol. Throughout the story, we'll follow his development and watch him grow into a fine soldier (still with occasional moments of abysmal EQ, but that's his adorable side I think). A nice thing is that both characters have almost equal screen time.
On the romance, hahahaha, both the ML and MC are mature in age, but they're greenhorns on the romantic front, so join them on a slow exploration of "what is love" and "do I actually like that guy". They naturally progress from haters to unwilling partners to friends to comrades, and eventually, to two boyfriends who are very supportive of each other. Oh and they have a very cheesy touching confession scene, almost the most unique confession that I've ever read about in BL.
Of course this novel isn't without its fault. Given the author's choice to go with rather realistic story-telling, the story might dive into lots of details and get a bit dry at certain points. But it is overall a very nice read, do give it a try if you're into action BL, or looking for a novel that has an interesting take on apocalypse." ~ riyuan.rc
"Great couple dynamics, equal relationships, no overprotective lover. Side characters are interesting. As for the plot? Extremely ballsy and good. Sorry for using that word, but I cannot think of any other.
The plot, oh dear God, the plot. This is the first novel I had read that has aliens and this one handles it so well too! For those that aren't fans of BL, I do suggest to read this for the plot. The aliens are genuienely scary and are given this sense of mystery and depth. This causes fear and uncertainty for both the reader and characters.
Finally, the all important ending. Most survival and apocalypse novels end, in my opinion, too rushed or too awkwardly. BUT, this novel succeeds immensely. It ends properly, it clarifies and ties up all the important loose ends. And happy ending!" ~ frozenlimabeans

"Let's start with how the very first chapter hooked me. The plot starts with the MC, Jian Mei, living in his old man's village with his fam at the age of 14-15 during a summer vacation, MC helps his old man plant and treat nearby residents with medicinal herbs for free. And then at some point, the old man has given MC an odd-looking advanced mobile phone that he got from the mountains which basically leads our MC into interconnecting with ML, Lu Xingwang (only months olders than Jian Mei), who is a million light years away. This is only the first chapter, I won't say anything about the rest anymore but you could prolly guess what would happen afterwards.
About the progress of the plot, this story has 140 completed ch + 2 extras. As far as my mind could remember, it has slight to moderate slowburn as the first 50 chapters focuses on their growth as young teens who are going throught abrupt yet significant environmental, emotional and psychological changes, especially our ML! This is the stage where the both of them learn to trust and support each other despite the seemingly indefinite distance and large differences between the worlds they live in. The story also has timeskips! (Be prepared for some major and minor twists, prepare tissues too!! I advise you to not think too much of the sypnosis xD)
As for our lovely pair of lovers, after a particular timeskip, look out for their growth both as individuals and as a pair!! Apparently, the two is a walking transparent storage box of dog food whenever they're *****.
So, first with MC. You can see Jian Mei's development through his resolve to go beyond the capabilities of a simple human in order to aid and provide great care for those who are in dire need. He's not of a typical naive character that you'd rather endure than be pissed of with due to his impulsive nature and illogical thinking. He has his own ideals, he stands up for what he truly believes, and isn't easily swayed by those higher than him. But damn, in the presence of LXW, almost everything would just seem to go 'poof!'. Starting from his teenage years, he is already adorable AND embarrassing at the same time (which LXW finds endearing, ahem), please take care of him thank you very much.
As for our ML, Lu Xingwang has been added already inside the box of my piled ultimate Lu (s). This man, is like that one shounen protag where he gets beaten while in his vulnerable state by his foes without knowing that he has this hidden great power the could dominate the lands, the seas, and even the celestial entities. LXW follows that kind of exaggerating process but it isn't cliche with how the author made it refined and less infuriating. ALSO, said cold and distant man who could overturn almost every single thing with a flick of his finger is actually a tender and doting man on the inside... Yes, only when it comes to his beloved.
Lastly, the remaining.2 in my rate comes from the dissatisfaction that I got from mtl-ing (who hasn't anyways) —— either the mtl really just messed up, jumbled and mistranslated some words that ended up into making little to no sense when put together (basically going out of context) or there is a tiny, almost unnoticeable plot hole near the end. But that's fine, one of the expected disadvantages of using mtl. Overall, the MTL is good and readable!!
There is no perfect story, but this one will always have a special place in my heart. I believe that some of our personal preferences and the state/mood we're currently in affect the result of our reading experiences, so I am once again reminding you that this review is solely based from my own perspective. I don't know their official CP name yet but pls, for those who want to eat dog food, witness an ML void of warm emotions suddenly become a pile of honey goo in front of MC, and amazing futuristic and interstellar worldbuilding (helo little mushroom, mist and can ci pin likers) ——then let us read Jian Mei and Lu Xingwang's journey starting from their teenage years to adulthood in ODBA! ੭ ᐕ) ੭*" ~ xue ge

"Wow, this novel is an absolute gem. Initially, I had some hesitations about reading it based on the summary, but once I started, I couldn't put it down. It's a captivating slice-of-life story that also sheds light on the corruption prevalent during the early stages and even today.
In one of the chapters, there's a brilliant portrayal of how the police often prioritize the wealthy, and the moments of face slapping are truly satisfying. It's definitely a worthwhile read, although some readers may find the age difference between the female lead (16) and the male lead (24, approximately) slightly unconventional. However, overall, it's a well-done story.
I was deeply moved during the orphanage arc, and the novel explores various other arcs that highlight the treatment of women in China during the early 90s. I admired the female lead's decision to become a teacher, and while the romance aspect is minimal and doesn't develop until the female lead graduates from high school, it doesn't detract from the overall quality." ~ zuzuo3o

Hilarious, light-hearted but heartwarming novel.
MC is easy going, somewhat coquettish but sharp tongued. He loves to mess with people who bother him by 'staging a scene' creating full on dog-blood scrips and many misunderstandings (with the external party)
ML is somewhat tsundere, clingy, attempting to be domineering president type. Loves to play along with MCs scenes and loves takin care of MC.
Dialogue is super sharp and funny. I loved all the mock parodies of cliche plots MC/ml/their friends stage to get back at people. MC and ML's car+driver euphemism for their physical relationship.
Romance is lovely. From friends with benefits to something more to lovers. There's so much communication between the two of them, it's not perfect but they learn to navigate and make each other happy.
ML is MC's rock, his only safety net in this brand new novel world (even if MC adapts fast) and MC genuinely wants the best for ML.
Spoiler
it's rare to see an actual explanation for an MC to believe in fulfilling the plot but I do understand MC's thought process.
ML also loves MC loads and has possessive problems in the early beginning but tries to get better. He's patient and willing to talk to work out problems. Both of them love and support each other. There's some nice descriptions of love towards each other.
The physical relationship is also fun to read. They communicate and enjoy the uh drive together, no MC being reluctant or ML making MC 'drive' more times than he wants. Not shy to just cuddle and kiss and be clingy to each other.
Side characters- some are better than others and the best of them are the ones who play along with MC when he begins his 'script'. Love how everyone is just so down to act out a dramatic love or die scene. ML's family is really nice and has a funny dynamic.
TL;Dr : sweet, funny novel with enough genuine moments and really good relationship dynamics. Not too deep but worth to read just because of the healthy communication and dynamics." ~ Ecirteab
