In the glorious modern 21st century, an old fogey who’s stayed up in the mountains for who knows how many years borrows a body, carrying pocketfuls of silver dollars, and heads down into the city for the sake of reviving his sect.

Then he realizes that in order to revive his sect, he needs land, housing, renovation, workers, insurance…. a whole mess of items. Modern entrepreneurs really have it rough. Earning money is hard, working is hard, and when his stomach grumbles, he can only sustain himself on the likes of wandering souls and wild ghosts.

The Wei family’s eldest son, beaten by his father and neglected by his mother, was sent back months after going missing. But his personality has undergone a major change, his mood became unstable, and his martial abilities turned extraordinary. Anyone who rubs him the wrong way will inevitably receive a beating.

Neither an obedient child nor a serious actor anymore, instead engaging in superstitious activities all day long. How could things have gone this far?

This story starts with lots of hilarious scenes that made me laugh so hard. MC is too OP, and 'innocent'? His real identity is mysterious at the beginning of the story, but if you've read a lot of chinese mythical creatures/gods, you can easily guess MC's identity. ML spoiled MC a lot while being jealous of his own self, and he bragged to others everytime MC gave him something or show affection to him. At first the interaction between them was like a master and a dog?, because ML was... more>> rich in yang qi and MC like to feed on him.

One thing I didn't expect at the beginning was...

Spoiler

I thought MC's first disciple was just a normal human!

[collapse]

MC is too OP that I felt pity for those who met him, and especially those who ended up being eaten up by MC.

The plot might look a bit repetitive, with new characters appear, MC defeat/solve them, the sect get bigger, then the cycle repeats. Anyway this story does not conform to the normal norm, it is filled with brain-hole characters, but just have fun with the ride. <<less

Very entertaining. MC is very naive and innocent. Loved him. There isn’t a lot of romance but the interaction between MC and ML is cute. Lots of funny parts. I think I smiled through out the whole time I was reading this lol

MTL Completed, readability 70%.

This novel had no seriousness and the complexity at all, anything that should turn into a major or severe event in other cultivation novels, would turn into comedy here.

However MC personality was not talkative or easy going, it's his action and his three views that were challenging to follow.

Most importantly, he was a Gary Stu through and through. It's like he's the heavenly Dao most beloved child without even the heaven acknowledgement of it.

This story is very entertaining. I always laughing out loud in my room every time I read where MC does things that are not norm for the people especially during encountering the ghosts (poor normal people). MC is a bit naive but it was understandable as his shifu/master didn't teach him much about human social interaction. You should know

Spoiler

MC eats everything and I mean everything.

I can't wait for the MC and ML to be together and I wonder how will the MC understand that certain feelings for the ML.

I hope this book will gains more readers in the future. Please leave a review as well.

I know it's still early to give a full star, coz I'm only at chapter 40+. But the story is really promising.

The MC is really OP, extremely OP. ? He has a bad temper as well, the way he 'exorcist' the ghost is by eating them-he literally ate them- ? I laugh so hard whenever they ghost raiding, when he think he can eat the evil ghost it turn out they're not evil at... more>> all. He can't eat pure soul, his master made him promise that. The only thing can soothe his feeling by making the ghost as Taicang sect's employes ?

ML and MC know each other back then. MC has no memories about it. From at the current chapters, back then whenever they meet they always bicker ? Maybe because ML has a thick yang aura around him (MC love to eat) ? <<less

Overall, the story is plenty hilarious and in general, enjoyable to read. WeiXi and his companions are really, really chaotic and it's so funny.

Spoiler

I thought that there would be a lot of infuriating family drama but it's actually not the case. It's a relief that such issues are handled fairly quickly.
