[After I chose to farm, I turned the cannon fodder female supporting character into a winner in life!]

With the help of the life support system, Xu Yin entered the countless novel that she’d given a low rating and a negative review to before. All of the original hosts had met miserable ends, and even if they survived, they were at best cannon fodder foils to the female lead and constantly deal with bad cards!

Xu Yin, who just relaxedly farmed: … Survive at all costs! You can lie around like a salted fish, as long as you don’t meddle with the plot!

Eventually, Xu Yin managed to become a winner in life by persisting on surviving.

Story World No. 1: The evil sister-in-law who lived in the 80s bid farewell to being a cannon fodder and became rich through farming!

Story World No. 2: The cannon fodder female supporting character chose farming over schemes and created a strong farming fief!

Story World No. 3: The burden of the broken home family bid her goodbye and went back to her hometown to farm!

Story World No. 4: The World Champion’s ex-girlfriend!

Story World No. 5: The cannon fodder foil to the almighty movie queen!

Story World No. 7: The vicious female supporting character farms in a wasteland!

Story World No. 8: The white moonlight of a surgeon!…

First impressions of the story so far:

    • Good translation.
    • Protagonist's background is interesting: she is not a system agent, a powerful cultivator/demon/spirit/god/etc., just a normal person. She started transmigrating because she received a mysterious pendant from her grandmother. When she fell ill, she was bound to a "life support" system in the pendant that started transmigrating her to different worlds as cannon fodder. We are told the first she went to was the Republic of China, where she died because she didn't know her role. In the second world, she has some experience farming and lived a better life. Now, this novel starts off in her third time transmigrating.
    • The author seems to be setting up the main character not to be pitted against the "female lead" just because she is cannon fodder. In fact, the MC even acknowledges the female lead is hardworking, diligent, etc. Time will tell if this is true, or if she is just pretending, but it is promising so far that the MC does not want to fight against the female lead. Too many novels where women are pitted against each other.
Edit: I was right! The original female lead of the world is not the MC's enemy! I love the author so much for that. Also, the story is very good and well written!

The novel's plotlines are actually a little above average. There are some good lines and awesome moments wherein you root for the MC. (+2). There were plots that got you hooked. (+1). But most of the time though, the plot gets draggy. I tend to skip a lot just to get to the end of the arc. (-1). Her ML is the typical cold but loves her in the end, which tbh looses its charm after multiple arcs. Sometimes I wish she were just single 'cause ML's just not appealing... more>> enough. (-1). Also there are multiple occasions wherein author is too biased towards other countries. At first it was tolerable but later on it was just very very uncomfortable to read. It felt like every other arc author disses other countries and the rant gets longer each arc lmao. IMO it was unnecessary to the plot hence I almost dropped this multiple times (-3). I guess I continued to read this 'cause I had already read 5 arcs. If I were to describe this novel's effect on me, it's kinda like coffee. It gives me migraines but I just can't stop.

All in all, if you push pass these "defects", if you squint hard enough, it's bearable enough to entertain you. It's not too bad but it's not too good either. <<less

If you don't like farming and agriculture novels, close the tab. This is like 12+ farming novels condensed into one megalith. If you have to skip farming to read this, why on earth are you reading a farming novel in the first place?

This novel's title is absolutely accurate. She transmigrates into cannon fodder. Her system shows up. She farms/does something else tangentially agriculture related (farming, winemaking, perfume crops, bamboo crafts, eco-resorts, ranching, growing medicine, growing flowers, growing spices... in short, a lot of growing). And then she does it... more>> all again.

It's like a 4.6 for the farming novel genre. The overarching plot is basically irrelevant. Romance exists in some of the arcs, but overall, is more of a somewhat perfunctory side plot; the ML is sometimes just a tool-man. Sometimes she gets a wholesome family, sometimes she gets a dogblood plot family. Sometimes they matter, and sometimes they don't.

Either way, she's going to farm. And that farming is also the highlight of this novel.

I think it's nice and has an interesting variety of options. One arc is being a rancher in New Zealand, for example, and that's also the main arc where she spends most of her time out of China/fantasy China. Most of the people in New Zealand were portrayed as perfectly friendly, so I don't really understand where the other reviewer is getting "disses other countries" from.

Sure, they aren't as OP as her, but... the MC is 1) the Main Character, 2) probably well over a thousand years old with multiple lifetimes of knowledge, and 3) has an OP system on hand. It's kind of hard to be more OP than her. She also wins competitions all the time because... well... it should be obvious why, right?

I actually liked the fact that it faithfully sticks to farming/farming related tasks in every arc. The food is also pretty good; it's not a foodie novel because farming is definitely, 100% the main theme, but food's often present and described well.

Each sub-plot is fairly engaging (although I think some of the arcs could've been extended instead of being wrapped up so quick, but that's QT for you), but the really, really big caveat is that you have to like reading about farming. If you don't, it's already over. If you have to skim past farming, don't bother; you're missing the whole point.

Reading this novel and skimming the farming is like going to Olive Garden, ordering pasta, exclusively eating the cilantro on top, and then complaining about the pasta being shit. Just close the tab and save your time. <<less

It's interesting and boring at the same time. Author does not know how to write fantasy settings. Most of her arcs are set in reality at certain points in time. Which, ok, but really not too interesting after repeated arcs of the same stuff. The author is trying desperately to stick to the farming theme so it's a little frustrating when you're reading and seeing hints for a direction the story could go to make the story interesting but the author chooses to go against it because it's not about... more>> farming (I wanted her to be a pro at motorcycling in that one arc - that would've been so interesting!). Don't get me wrong, I do like that each world is about farming and I even like the lengths to which the author goes to stick to their theme. From winemaking to perfumes to fish ponds. If you like farming this is for you. I just want some fantasy elements though and we haven't gotten it so far. Will change review if we ever get such an arc.

Oh I also really appreciate how this novel doesn't go out of its way to punish antagonists. They live their lives while MC lives hers. Mostly the antagonist just end up living mediocre lives while comparing themselves with the MC. Which I think is a harsher punishment than some of the other torture I've seen in other qt stories but it also makes sense and doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. So kudos to the author for that

7/31/24 Edit: Bumping up my review from three stars to five stars as it has now been completed. Everything I said is still accurate but I've found this story to be quite charming as I was finishing it it over the past couple months. Still a problem with not enough fantasy settings, although there has been like 1-2 more since my review. I understand it's about farming but there's only so much you can do to make a farming story interesting. Funnily enough I think this author did make the farming interesting but I still stand by my statement that the author could've made the arcs more interesting had she not chosen to abandon more interesting plots for the farming. I think I wouldn't have minded so much had I not seen the hints for a better development. If it was just straight farming all the way through I think I wouldn't have been so disappointed. But there was potential for more! Alas. Still, I appreciate what we've got and I bumped up my rating because it was such a comfort read. There aren't going to be some annoying characters jumping out to die all the time. The story was pest-free, you might say. There were still antagonists but it was enjoyable reading because you knew that the author wasn't going to suddenly decide to devote the entirety of their story to making that antagonist their new protagonist. I've seen so many of those stories, man, I'm sick of it. Because of that consistency from beginning to end, this story was a breath of fresh air. I still say it's a little boring if you're a binge-reader like me. But if you're only planning on reading one arc, taking a break, and then coming back (like I did by the end of the story), this story is SUCH a comfortable one to read in bed. I felt safe and warm reading this funnily enough. Just take it arc by arc. <<less

It is good that the MC is kinda avoid the protagonist thing to avoid problem.

A bit repetitive about the farming thing, the system is at least still working and giving something.

The cultivation world is suspicious, not yet explained the connection with MC.

... more>> A little boring where the male lead is kinda waiting to appear and too helpful for MC.

Dunno when complete but it is a good reading, not too much dog blood cause MC is trying to avoid the main story as much as possible. So far about less than 60% progress so maybe 2000 chapter is the most. <<less
