SSS - it was incredibly interesting for me to read, I consider it an excellent work, the shortcomings do not strike my eye.

SS - it was very interesting for me to read, I consider it a good work, some shortcomings are striking.

S - I was very interested in reading, the work may be shit, but I was interested in something and did not want to pay attention to the shortcomings.

A - it was interesting for me to read, I think the work is at least normal, there may be many flaws.

B - it was interesting for me to read, it may be shit, there are many shortcomings, but I ignore some.

C - it was a little interesting for me to read, I think the works are shit, there are a lot of shortcomings.

Estimates can be corrected and specified. The meaning can be distorted due to translation.

Although imo the most correct classification would be: what I finished reading was interesting to me at that moment, and what I never finished reading was not. <<less

For a story to be included they must have a great prose, excellent translation, superior worldbuilding, and three dimensional side characters.

Personal Considerations:

I personally abhor evil/edgy/"anti-hero" mcs and so those will not be featured on this list. It's very easy to be selfish, immoral and evil. It's much more difficult to be kind, just and principled when the going gets tough so I find stories with main characters who have a code and stand by it the most interesting. MCs don't need to be paragon's of justice, but when confronted with difficult choices they must display some semblance of empathy and kindness in their actions.

I also love discussions of philosophy and morality and find their inclusion in the context of wuxia and xanxia worlds to be extremely interesting.

I like romance. I dislike harems, but if I have to make a choice I prefer harems to no romance.

I have a personal preference to reading male main characters.

3. Writing must be consistent, coherent and engaging and the ending must at least not be sh!t. Clichés to a point are fine however it needs to be purposeful & executed well.

What I look for in a good novel is: logical plot, good pacing, character development and concise descriptions. I'm also a sucker for a weak-to-strong character growth, good action, and romance that actually develops instead of mindless harems.

What I hate in novels is: insane repetition of content to meet character counts, idiotic MCs that make you go "why are they doing this?", or cliche/tedious formulas that endlessly repeat such as:

>> Queue entrance of super strong Villain A that identifies MC as lowly tr*sh and causes trouble

>> MC decides to start fighting while the surrounding audience goes "wow, this fool dares fight with Villain A?!?"

>> Everyone proceeds to shout out the names of their techniques, which sound "seemingly more epic" as the battle goes on

>> Villain grits teeth and uses ultimate move. MC's pupils contract and his expression pales. Audience goes "OMG, I can't believe he forced villain A to use <epic move>?!"

>> MC somehow breaks through bottleneck mid battle and wins

>> Villain coughs up a mouthful of blood with disbelief written on his face

>> Suddenly Villain B, Villain A's father enters the scene and shouts "how dare you harm Villain A?!"
