Ranking based on:

Plot- Whether plot makes sense, and foreshadowing is given closure. All around just entertaining, and doesn't feel like a chore to read.

Characters- If the characters are fu cking tr*sh, the novel is tr*sh, 'nough said.

Translation quality- Many idioms in chinese novels tend to fly over people's head. And if the translator doesn't have an apt website, I will also find it a hassle to read. <<less

Sorted roughly from most obsessive to least obsessive (I used to have a bias for QT novels, though). Favorite to least favorite where I couldn't decide. Edit: Woa, I never expected that many users to like obsessive MLs, feels great to see those with the same 'guilty pleasures' as mine (I don't feel guilty though, not because my taste is good but because I lack shame). We're out here bonding over unhinged guys lmao. Also, what's your ideal obsessive ML? I'm quite curious, so feel free to comment it below. 

Personally, I prefer MLs who are usually ruthless and somewhat cruel to everyone but the MC, whom they treat with utmost love, care and respect, of course they're still 'toxic' in a way they wouldn't leave the MC alone or ever separate from him, but to make him stay, they'd rather pamper him to the hell and back than use torture or abuse. A big plus if they're paired with sly and morally grey MCs.
