Plot- Whether plot makes sense, and foreshadowing is given closure. All around just entertaining, and doesn't feel like a chore to read.

Characters- If the characters are fu cking tr*sh, the novel is tr*sh, 'nough said.

Translation quality- Many idioms in chinese novels tend to fly over people's head. And if the translator doesn't have an apt website, I will also find it a hassle to read. <<less
