✨There were definitely a lot of bone chillling/interesting scenes here. An interesting storyline, with a lot of character lore. Our MC here is, in fact, one of the most mysterious characters in the novel! The MC and ML's romance is slow burn, but don't worry, their relationship picks up sooner or later (sadly, they are both too dense to get straight into it). ✨Apparently the MC is a little cold-hearted at the beginning, he said something like 'I'll abandon you if I get bored' to the ML after they got together in the first world. Later he melted down a bit. I don't really remember if there are mature scenes in this, but it is definitely inappropriate. ✨There are only 3-4 arcs right now, so if you are someone who doesn't like arcs with 30-40 chapters, this book is not for you. I will also warn you that even though a tag says 'horror', don't expect a horrifying and scary horror novel. ✨It has been quite a while since I've read it, and I think I read everything except the taoist arc. Now, as far as I'm aware, this is definitely inappropriate (as most BL novels are), but there are isn't anything extremely spicy. It is similar to It's Actually Not Easy Wanting to Be a Supporting Male Lead (100% recommended), but more boring and has a lot less arcs. This is a QT novel, if you can't tell. ✨I really liked this one, mostly because the MC has a different style than the rest of the professional gamers (E-sports book, if you can't tell). There is plenty of fluff to feast on, with a little bit of angst. Just for your information, MC is the classic cute pushover bottom, while the ML is the cold OP gong that can be slightly possessive at times. However, as many of the reviews say, I also agree that this novel is seriously anticlimactic. If you are looking for an thrilling, competitive story, I am sorry. ✨One of the first ever QT novels I've ever read. This one is etched deep into my memories, because guys, this book is taking the word 'sacrifice' to the next level. Although sometimes the MC does live and die a natural death with the ML, most of the time he dies leaving the ML to blacken and give us some tasty angst. I loved all the arcs except one (The apocalypse one called Death Cycle or something like that), and it was kinda boring, ngl. ✨ It reminds me of Heroic Death System, but it has less arcs. Heroic Death System is all about sacrificing, while How To Die As Heavy As Mount Tai is a mix of misunderstandings and then sacrifice. I liked the first arc the most, even though the 'almost dying' thing got repetitive (I'm pretty sure the MC had at least 5 close calls before finally dying in the first arc). ✨ I'll have you know that I've only read 15 chapters before dropping it, because it was a little too bland for me. However, just the fact that it is on my recommendations list means that I think it has great potential, it's just that I dropped it before getting to the good(?) parts. The translator also did not laze out on this, they even explained a lot of gaming terms which I appreciate, as a gaming noob. ✨I seriously feel like this is on par with Heroic Death System and Quickly Wear The Face Of The Devil, except the MC is less ruthless. There are so many arcs, with the MC playing all kinds of roles (friend of the protagonist, villain, cannon fodder, etc). The backstories of the MC and ML, as well as their systems (yes, their systems) were very interesting as well! I love how the FL actually isn't a green tea b*tch. ✨It can be a little frustrating sometimes because the system changes targets so frequently. I don't know who to ship the MC with. As soon as I start liking a particular character, the system goes: nope, and the MC immediately starts cuddling up to another character! So, there will also inevitably be a lot of vinegar eating in this novel. If you like people fighting over MC, this is probably the book for you.
