Basically, it's a pitiful copy of The Scum Shou’s Survival Guide/Strategy to Capture that Scum Gong. The yandere comes at the very end of each arc, but it's not worth it lol.  <<less

A classic! My first QT novel...

This one barely escaped from the lower ranks because the male lead is slightly more possessive. I have never been more disappointed with a novel before. Usually novels tagged with Male Yandere are true to it. But not only is the male lead not a yandere, he doesn't even chase after the main character. For most of the arc, he hates the main character or is in denial! Even an insignificant side character loved the main character more than him. And the emotional scenes were poorly written. I also have to mention that the main character and male lead only had a few days where they accepted their love before the latter left for the... more>> next world. I didn't even feel sad. Hopefully, the author can include an extra from the male lead after the main character left.

Edit: After reflecting on this novel, I've come to realize why the Male Yandere tag is there. The male lead does torture someone who hurts the main character (off camera) and doesn't let the main character leave his house without bodyguards and a tracker. I think this escaped me because of the nature of their roles (mafia boss x pet lover) and the fact that the male lead didn't have any strong obsessive thoughts. I'm still hesitant to call this yandere. Many male leads I've considered only possessive do the same things, but lack the yandere mindset. Nevertheless, this is moving up. I'll see if the male lead is more yandere in future arcs. <<less

The summary is exceedingly deceptive. You'd think that the main character would get pregnant early on, but it actually happens in the last couple of chapters. The ending was also pretty bad, and the issue with the main character's sister was never resolved.

Honestly, this is like the inferior version of A Straight Guy's Nightmare. There's a hermaphrodite protagonist, pregnancy, r*pe, university setting, a sister, etc. <<less

Disclaimer: I absolutely HATE this novel. It just accumulated over time... but I can't forget about it. I started this novel years ago when it was still at chapter 1, and the plot is slightly more unique. But if this wasn't BL, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the script for a palace drama. It's got the annoying female antagonist who loves the male lead (and should have died way earlier), the angsty palace politics, and the cold male lead. Anyways, the male lead is possessive and jealous, but at this point that's standard for an emperor in a romance novel. If you like this, try out War Prisoner. The male leads are both scum, but at least War Prisoner's male lead has an emotional scene where he regrets mistreating the main character.  <<less
