As other commenters have mentioned, the MC is narrow minded and has more than “regrets” about his younger brother being gay. The MC has gripes about his brother going astray and not raising his younger brother right. This is played for laughs and isn’t actually shown to be actually bad on the MCs part, which rubs me the wrong way. Now, this is fiction and all, but, I just couldn’t stand the MC and his view and thoughts. I used to enjoy this novel, but after revisiting I just couldn’t... more>> root for the MC anymore. Nor do I want to see anymore of him trying to “steer” the ML from being gay or bemoaning his fate about his past younger brother being gay. <<less

I can’t continue this anymore at first it was great and quite flawless however as the novel drags on it became repetitive also, I don’t really enjoy the other side CPs in the novel that’s the main reason I’m quitting they are too one dimensional. The villains are not great but I love the main couples. They are one true power couple I would like it better if the MC doesn’t focus one the other side characters too much.

(For those who are repulsed by incest, then I'm telling you that ML and MC's host body are NOT blood related. ... more>>

The father thought that ML was his son but in truth, his lover cheated on him and was pregnant with the child of another man. So ML is not related at all with the Xu family.

The interaction between the main characters are very engaging. The MC is a transmigrated man into a novel and he just loves the soft, sticky boy he thought his younger brother is, while the ML is the younger brother who reincarnated from the future of the novel and is full of suspicions on the reason why his older brother is acting so nice towards him. Until he concludes that the new older brother is the gift bestowed by the God to compensate for every bad thing he experienced in his past life. And he goes YANDERE MODE from there.

Another thing I love is the MC's monologues, on how he compares the ML to every other child he meet. He goes 'As expected. My younger brother is the best. Other kids are so undiscipline! So arrogant! So unruly!' and somewhere along the line. He even compares the ML to his previous younger brother, saying that ML is much more cuter. Apparently in his eyes, the ML is the best, softest, stickest, younger brother one could ever had. And it ain't helping that ML acts all innocent with him, further solidifying his views.

I am so looking forward to the translation, because MTL is just..... MLT. So much details are missing when you can't understand more than half of what was written in the sentences.

Very RECOMMENDED for everyone to read! <<less

  1. MC is fictional. There is a difference between homophobic people and homophobic characters. One is real and bad, while the other is not real and does not reflect the views of the author.
  2. Consider: there are 475 chapters. You have read 6. The "Siblings Not Related By Blood" might have been put there by someone who got farther than you.
  3. Consider also reading the following translator's note: "OK before people start freaking out its quite normal in Chinese (and I believe Asian in general) culture to spank kids when they’re small as a discipline method. It’s never hard, and at most it’ll sting when you get slapped but it won’t hurt after." Yes spanking is abuse, no most people are not aware of that, yes it's getting slightly less prevalent in some countries, no China is not particularly one of them.
  4. The synopsis contains roughly everything you complained about, so I'm not sure why you decided to read this just to rant about what the synopsis already tells people.
My review:

This novel is a lot better than I expected from the synopsis, which I've found is slightly exaggerated for comedic effect.

MC is a reasonable and doting older brother, though his logic is somewhat skewed due to his knowledge of the weird BL world he transmigrated to. He really cares about his little brother and does everything he can to protect and raise him right. The little brother, however, is a reincarnator with a darker personality than MC assumes due to the suffering he went through at his "older brother's" hands in his previous life. Though he was initially distrustful of the change in MC's personality, he seems to be slowly accepting the new situation.

The plot has a lot of potential, and the character personalities are both skewed in their own ways, so it'll be interesting to see how things turn out. <<less

To reiterate some points:

  • MC and ML aren't blood brothers.
  • MC isn't homophobic, considering laws and values in China it's miraculous he accepted his little brother.
  • Spanking has been and still is a form of punishment in some Asian countries. Yes, I'm Asian.
The summary is a good one to sum up this novel: MC is the doting older brother with a brocon streak a mile wide. He's privy to the novel's ending where ML was tortured to death and vilified, but through his own thinking he found plot holes, and he doesn't agree with that. He resolved to raise his lil bro, the villainous ML, to be a good man.

Surprise surprise, the ML turned out to be the ML from original novel's ending, rebirthed. He's suspicious of his doting older brother, but after some events, he took him as god's gift for every bad thing that ever happened to him in his previous life. Starting from there he grew possessive of this good older brother of his.

This novel is hilarious, because we get both MC and ML's perspective; MC was determined to raise this little brother right, but he has like really thick tinted lenses because of his brocon and already thought of him as the softest, stickiest, best little brother anyone could ever have--despite other people warning him of ML's manipulative/vicious streak. ML's perspective started out really angsty, because he died a painful death by torture, but after he got attached to MC he stuck to him like glue, and tried to keep other people from interacting with MC at all.

I'm looking forward to how their relationship will shift as they grow older, especially considering MC's very heavy brocon glasses. ML has a long, long road ahead of him hahaha. Of course, as of current translated chapter, there's no romance in this--be assured.

I dislike the main character so much that it just brings everything else down to an otherwise good concept and here's why

Already in the synopsis it explains how regretful he is towards raising his real brother because his real brother turned out gay. Then he tries really hard to make his novel brother straight, trying to dispel "gay" actions of the novel brother. Already I'm disgusted by this character's outlook on homosexual people. It's like he thinks being gay is a shameful thing (as he says he's regretful of his real brother being gay), then he thinks he can change or guide someone's sexuality through influence (as he's trying to make his novel brother not gay), which I think is soooooo f*cking disgusting. If the kid turns out gay, he turns out gay. Accept it.

Others may think nothing by his actions, but I can't handle my frustration, which is the major reason this scores so low. I don't expect the MC to be gay or open to having s*x with a guy to make this story acceptable. If the author wants it, the MC should be straight as a pole, but definitely not so narrow-minded like this one in the novel.

Sometimes the MC says it's fine to like "pink" and it's fine if my real brother was "gay", but I can actually see the MC isn't fine and is just a f*cking prick that is clearly repeled by homosexuality. SO, if there was just a bit more respect and consideration for homosexuals in the mc's actions, it would have made the character 100000000 times better. But judging by his initial reactions and tone of the story, I bet there's going to be a lot of "laughs", then shock and cursing on MC's part about the ML sexuality coming out. Thus I don't expect any sort of character growth and the kind of mind set change I want to see happen

There were also some morally questionable things that may or may not disturb people

For instance it says the siblings aren't related by blood on the tag because I guess the MC is not blood related to the ML mentally. But, they are actually related biologically by half-blood since the MC did TRANSMIGRATE into the ML's half-brother, thus it is incest.

Also in order to initiate obedience into the novel brother, the MC "spanks him". Spanking was accepted back in the day, but what time period did this guy come from? Spanking is still physical abuse, anyone who disagrees with this statement, look it up. So, I don't know when this guy came from, but I assume that he should be within this later decade so he should know that spanking is detrimental to a child. Maybe it's a culture thing in China still? Whatever I'm still peeved about this character's moral behaviour

Other than all this, the translations are written well and coherently. Like I mentioned I liked the transmigration part into a BL cultivation novel, where the ML is reborn and there was potential in this story. However as I dislike the MC a lot, there's no way in hell I'm continuing.

Edit: After reading comments, I understand more clearly on people's point of view of this novel, and I really do appreciate some of the constructive responses that were written and perhaps my "standards were put too strongly on a place like china" as a reviewer mentioned. However, I wrote this knowing I'd get hate by seeing the obviously high ratings. But, I went out on a limb so I can say my piece on the subject as I feel strongly about it (although it's fictional). I still hold my opinions and that's all I will say. <<less

Not finished reading the raw since its like 400 more chapters I would burn out by the end of it. Might as well give my opinions on this novel. The uke whose transmigrated into a cannon fodder? Was a brother who was a bit bothered that his own little brother was gay but chose not to change him. Found out he has a little brother in the novel world, the villain himself also the seme. Aiming so the seme become straight that goal went down to the gutter since the... more>> seme is a reincarnator. MC has no way of knowing this therefore he kept caring for the little guy (lolz). Now the beginning felt long cause not much action going on except the two not yet couple cute and funny moments. Their relationship has not become close or intimate up until the first action. From there things got pick up speedily and both have good relationship but can't be considered as a couple just yet. MC as always was clueless but he is a genius regarding cultivation so he is not useless in combat. The seme is an excessively possessive towards the MC however rest assured he hasn't done anything bad ;)

As for the plot itself I can't be sure of cause its only to chapter 152 and that's not even half way unfortunately for me. What can be expected however is some cool actions, cute moments, some cultivation stuff, rivalry?, more cute moments, mystery perhaps, pets (you guess), more rivalries, some other couples has pooped that are gay, and the moment the MC and seme became couples. That's pretty much it. A lot to be expected from the story and so far its really enjoyable for me. <<less

Enjoyable read so far. The interactions between the two main leads are hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing in some of their scenes, especially the bathing scene.

To answer the question of reviewer, yes spanking is still being done in some parts of Asia. Asian countries are different to Western countries. There are some customs in Asian countries that are being pratice today that Westerners souldn't understand. The translator already explained it in their notes.

As for the MC's view in homosexuality, we have to accept that not all people in the world is as accepting of homosexuality and considering that he obviously came from from a conservative family from China, it was actually a surprising thing that he actually accepted that his first brother is gay. He seems like a strict guy based on some of his paragraphs. <<less

First of all, there's no incest.

A lot of the comedy revolves around MC trying to turn ML straight (already clearly mentioned in the description), so if you can't tolerate that, don't read it.

As for the spanking, that's still a very common way to discipline young kids in China and other asian countries (I find it hypocritical that someone is bothered by the spanking in this novel but is perfectly fine with overbearing rap*y ML who doesn't know a thing bout consent and even gave 5 stars like wth)

I rarely... more>> care about other people's reviews but seeing someone give a low rating and a misleading review when they only read a few chapters (barely the start of the story) annoys me. What's worse is when someone rants about all the stuff that's already mentioned in the description/synopsis (you already know that you won't like it but still read it anyway... masochist much?) <<less

I decided to write this review today even though I'm only at c30.

I received news today that the China Govt (Xi) is cracking down hard on certain themes in media. Danmei and snu snu are two of the many banned topics. Repercussions will be enforced (jail time) if restricted materials remains published.

Publishing platform JJXWC (where this novel and many others are also currently under) already announced a blackout of new content for 15 days to take down all incriminating content... These genres of stories will cease to exist on the... more>> platform v soon.

Its truly a sad day for the community and the authors...

Many read translations and raws for free. Don't take these stories for granted. I implore that you support your favourite authors and Translators while you can.

Story 4/5, TL 4/5

The premise is really really cute and it's my first danmei Transmigrator vs. Reincarnator combo.

So far really liking the interactions between the MC and ML. It's hilarious and also slightly sad to see the ML so guarded against the MC initially. But the fun truly starts after ML begins suspecting the origin of the MC. I will never tire of the wolf in sheep's clothing act, I look forward to reading how the romance between these two progresses!

My biggest con is probably the author's writing style. Too draggy with needless explanations. There's no need to account so clearly for every single actions made by the MC and ML. If everything is laid out bare in the open, the anticipation and suspense element is missing. As the reader, I much prefer and will have more fun if I come to realisation by myself through foreshadowing hints and incidents in the story. <<less

I'd give it 0 stars if I could, I just absolutely abhor the main character, I just couldn't, The general tone and vibe of his character and how he supposedly "regrets" the fact that his brother was gay, and how he was probably "led astray", reminds me a little too much of my passive-aggressive homophobic family, He constantly says that he "accepted it" but just reading a few chapters makes it very very clear that he feels genuinely ashamed of them and he quite frankly hates them. If he genuinely... more>> actually loved his brother, being gay should never have changed that, instead he should've instead changed in his outlook on the whole thing. You can be straight and come from an Asian heritage and NOT be homophobic.

The author could've instead made his h*mophobia out to be a genuine problem that had consequences, showing how it had a genuine negative influence on the people around him, BUT NO his h*mophobia was played up for comedic laughs and I just don't understand how you can write a danmei, a story about mlm, and make it homophobic, it does not compute. <<less

The story started out interesting enough, but quickly got old. The premise is quite fun: the MC is transmigrated into the novel from the real word while the ML is reborn with the memories from his previous life. In the beginning, the situational comedy from the scheming of the ML and the cluelessness of the MC was funny and refreshing.

However, both the MC and the ML becomes more and more unbearable as time goes on. Both characters never evolve or grow - they stay within the confines of the same... more>> trope. If every person and animal hate the ML, the MC will figure out his little brother has something strange about him. Also, you would think after being treated well for several years the ML would mellow out. The characters remain static while the plot progresses in a manner of typical cultivation novels. From what I can tell from skimming the Chinese RAWs, it doesn't really get much better. <<less

Definitely one of my top danmei at all times. Not fully translated. First translator did EXCELLENT job, then comes various confusing translators (was thinking it was MTLed), but the last translator is OK, starting c70 I think. So dont give up on this novel.

Reading the ML and MC PoV are hilarious, especially since they really try to maintain their image in front of each other.

This is good, but the translation from chapter 60 on is basically unreadable. Waiting to see if anyone else will take this on.

This is a Transmigration vs Rebirth story. Smart brocon who loses IQ when it comes to his younger brother + younger brother who is vicious and wants to take revenge on the people who wronged him in his previous life.

When I first read it, I really fell in love with it. It's funny and good but now I can barely read it. Why? Because the translation has dropped so low, it seems like it's MTL. Yes, I know and have heard that the novel is really hard to translate. I'm happy that someone is willing to translate this but at least have an editor because the grammar is very painful.

It makes me sad that I can't continue to read it. Or, I don't know, maybe I'll change my mind... more>> one day and continue reading it despite the awful grammar, or if someone else decides to pick this up and make it readable. <<less

A 3.5 stars for this somewhat charming Chinese BL cultivation xianxia webnovel with a twisted love interest everyone with right mind should avoid other than the book's super tolerant and mildly masochistic protagonist

Aside from the romance, cultivation and transmigration is the main focus of the story. The romancing is slow burn but super passionate and cray-cray as the love interest is a very possessive and yandere (cold) type of person. There is no one on his mind and in his soul except for his beloved, the protagonist.... more>> To him, everyone and everything else is just a waste of time and space. Yes, he has a very extreme type of personality. He is lucky the protagonist is highly accepting of such suffocating type of love and he is constantly spoiled by the protagonist as the protagonist is the doting type of boyfriend everyone wish for. Writing wise, there are admittedly obvious shortcomings here and there especially that the author seems fond of telling rather than showing hence tons of inner dialogues by characters which I find somewhat repetitive. I would rather think and feel for myself than being spoon-fed like a clueless child. Where is the fun of reading if we don't get to use our brain and imagination? Books that makes you think would stay longer in your head and you would appreciate it more. On the other hand I really enjoyed the cultivation journey and the adventures after adventures they both gone through together and loved that I get to see their relationship grow day by day and watch my ship becoming so majestic and smooth sailing. I also adored the total devotion they both shown to each other. The protagonist is easy to like and he is not without flaws plus he is no martyr and a well balanced type of guy who values self-preservation without being a d*ck about it. No doubt both of them has skewed personalities but it's hard to dislike their passion and devotion towards each other. Apart from the lovey-dovey couple, there are also quite a number of other interesting and entertaining side characters that breathed life into the story. Such as those cute little sidekick creatures they picked up during one of their many adventures. They are truly fun and handy to have around. I want one of those fluffy cuties too.

I really love this ! The MC's character is very nice and the ML is very yandere. I especially like the MC's character - "I'll train as hard as I can, the plot is not everything, knowing the plot won't save me. I'll gain power to live safely and honorably... if I can't... lets hide from the protagonist... no one who challenges the plot armor ever survives"

this is actually a very logical decision for a reading who got transmigrated. Plot armor is always absolute in novels so yeah

This novel is a very interesting one if you like a possesive seme then this is the novel for you. I don't know where the one star guy read maybe in chinese but right now the novel is very good and it is still at the initial stage so if you are interested in BL then this is one of the good one out there. The translation is very good easy to understand and for those who are weird out by the description let me clear some point for you:

1.... more>> He transport into the BL novel but he is the MC in it meaning his original character is gay.

2. His brother that he is trying to raise is not gay originally what he mean by turning little brother into an exceptionally good man is that he raise him on the right path so he wont be like his original character who is a misunderstood villan.

3. Some minor incest consider they are half brother so if you not into this you can forget about it but it still is a good novel. <<less

A hidden gem! Updates regularly, the plot is interesting, povs from different characters (well, more like a third person pov style), which I absolute adore. ^_^ There are interactions with side characters, and it’s not like there are only 2 people in the world lol. The author + translator style of writing the text absolutely does not bore, and on tippy toes for the next update! ^_^

This novel is verrrryyyyyyyyyyyy gooooooooooood!! The MC and ML is very likeable! MC is not a weak type and a smart man with tough personality. The ML is a yandere of course but he's so kind with our MC, full of consideration and will not dare to force MC to do anything MC doesn't want to. Instead, he is all cute, sweet and protective to MC and MC love him too, both of them have a sincere heart for each other! The storyline is good and can make your heart... more>> pound with the thrilling adventure! Y'all must read this and you will never regret wasting your time for this novel! I've been following this story since the first translator, so I thought I'd give a boost to it! I'd been hesitant to continue reading since it changed translators, so I suppose my main goal is to reassure readers.

The first translator was excellent. Changing sites this story first went to a horrible MTL translator. It was a rough 10ish chapters, not going to lie. Mixed up genders, inconsistent terms, nonsensical sentences. Push through it. The 3rd translator is doing wonderfully! It's worth it.

What to say about the story? It hits my... more>> tastes perfectly. You have a possessive yandere gong X pampering and protective shou. Our MC transmigrates into a BL novel as a straight man with a brother complex. He thoroughly adopts a reincarnated gong as his most precious brother; a brother much more mature and bloodthirsty than he let's on. Relatively slow build in this one. As of this writing MC is 15/16 and the gong is 11/12. Nothing has happened between them yet, but those sensitive to underage might want to give this a pass. This is at its heart a cultivation novel. Less term heavy perhaps than some as there is an emphasis on the relationship, but there is a lot of world building and cultivation progression. This isn't suited to people who prefer fast wear/instant love novels. It takes character development for this story to get there.

I'll also add not to be distracted by the h*mophobia tag. It's not at all extreme in nature. It's the common "straight is normal" brand of h*mophobia I see in almost every straight uke/shou BL novel I've ever read. MC loved his gay little brother from his past life. The summary makes it seem worse than it is. At any rate, his almost complete lack of a bottom line when it comes to his brother complexes mean his sexuality switch will flip easier than you might think!

A note for people on the fence about the incest angle:

1. The gong doesn't consider the shou as being his blood brother as he knows based on the shou's reactions that he isn't the same character as from his first life.

2. I'm not sure if this info got lost in the very badly translated 2nd translator, but they aren't even related at all. Due to this unclear period, I'm not sure if the characters are aware of this yet themselves.
