I have a soft spot for strong MCs, unusual relationship dynamics, plotty action, and a well-developed side character cast. I tend to prefer feel-good stories over dark, overly complex ones. These stories don't have everything I like, but they're all great for at least one aspect. 4/5 = like it, 5/5 = love it! MXTX novels not included because they are classics.

#REAL Crematorium. Just search around for full explanation but impt. point is: THEY ENDED UP WITH ANOTHER PERSON. For those who had a sadistic liking seeing a scum ML grovelling but still fail to take MC back, THIS IS FOR YOU.

 Warning: Most stories here are only for the strong-hearted. However, those I regard as "bad (or messily-written) dog blood" that I really cannot tolerate will not be included here  

I will indicate if it's bad ending. If it doesn't have the #BE tag, it's automatically a happy ending.

These BL's have left lasting impressions on me in the past years. This list includes the thriller/action/horror/mystery/crime genre. This list is a part of a series classified by genre ; other lists of this series include Ancient Setting novels and  Modern/Futuristic/Transmigration novels. I tried to include both known and unknown novels to give more diversity to the reading list. 

So what is my subjective version of a quality BL of this list?

-No/little plot holes & well developed plot/mystery

-Actually thrilling

-Capable MC and ML  (not aggravatingly s*upid and know when to respect each other but also put their foot down at the right moments). . 

-Lasting impression. I made this list by memory so if it's not on here...Chances are it's not worth remembering for the list. 

-Good development of all characters--including side characters--as long as the main focus is the main couple.

-Make me cry, laugh, yell or gasp. Perhaps all at the same  time. 

*****I have also included BL novels that have high expectations from me. The higher the expectations, the higher the stars. Hence, "***, **, *."

PS. Novels I've read are the only ones rated according to number. The rest (unread) are just listed randomly.

I tried my best to leave some trigger warnings on this list where I think some readers might find objectionable content (there seems to be more of that in dramatic and action oriented novels). I hope that people can take the genres labeled Adult and Mature as well as tags like R*pe, R*pist Becomes Lover, S*xual Abuse etc seriously. I think it's always a good idea for people to check tags and reviews of a novel before starting out, otherwise you can end up wasting time because halfway through (or even further on), you read something that is upsetting and then drop the novel. That's a habit I picked up after reading a ton of manga and webtoons. It's also very useful with novels! If you want to do that with Western novels, I would check out the website/app Goodreads (which also has Asian web novels, mangas and more listed there along with reader tags and reviews). <<less
