In the original novel, the original owner of the body had been a cannon fodder who tried to get the protagonist (who is also the ML, Yan Heqing) to join his harem. He wasn't a good emperor, and his ending was a bad one. The MC kind of acts arbitrarily after transmigration. Basically, he thinks it's all a play and constantly involves himself, both accidentally and purposefully, to change the plot. He didn't really have a goal outside of surviving at first, and the story proceeds to be easy going and care free for a while. However, in the end, reality comes knocking, making him realize that he was walking to an even more tragic journey than the original owner.ANYWAY … If you like abusive romance, then this is not a bad read? XD It sounds horrible when put that way, but it's true. It's the kind of story that's both frustrating and heartbreaking. Making you want to tear down the script (and the author while you're at it) at the pure abuse, all while reading obsessively to find out how it ends. Like this, I guess you can say that the story is quite good at keeping the reader's engaged, even if the content may not necessarily be the best. In my old review, I gave it a 3/5 rating. I've decided to adjust it to a 3.65/5. Just enough to round up to four stars. I think it's worth it. Even if it's not my kind of read (I don't usually like abusive stories).  <<less

[Transmigration, Primitive Times, Fantasy, Infrastructure, Slice of Life] This is another one of those novels that I inexplicably found enjoyable~ Despite the fact that it embodies quite a few of my pet peeves for story writing lmao. As a book focused on infrastructure, the characters that are introduced (including the MC and ML) are not as important as the progression of the community as a whole. It all starts with the MC being sent into a primitive environment where people still group together as tribes -- focusing on hunting and gathering rather than farming and breeding. He was given a mission by a God to create infrastructure and was given the ability to do... more>> so via a magical space filled with items from his time period.

After this semi-slow introduction, the story starts to speed up incrementally to show how the originally small group of people create an entire city for themselves. This is the main focus of the story~ I like such stories, but others may not find it as enjoyable, especially since the romance and other plot is pretty negligible. It's pretty much grinding and farming 100% of the time.

EXTRA NOTES: On the matter of the TL and MTL, the TL is readable and the MTL semi-readable (I would say... 75-80%?) The issue is mainly on names and pronouns, so pretty basic stuff. <<less

I originally hesitated to read this because the TL was unfinished, and it was only now that I remembered to get back to it. Have to say, I really shouldn't have hesitated XD Although some of the terms are confusing in MTL (e.g., mother = grandma, get = little brother, etc. etc.) once you get a handle of it, the MTL is at least 75% readable (better than most, at least. So, if you're hesitating because of the same reason as me, I say give it a shot!... more>>

SUMMARY:

This novel plays out very much like your typical 'transmigrating to ancient times to farm and make money' CN novels. But it's also unique in some areas. For example, whilst the transmigrating MC, Tang Chunming, comes back with a space golden finger on his person, the original owner of the body had not only been previously married, but also had a young child and an unborn baby in his stomach. XD I mean, one can say that doesn't matter, but in those times, it mattered quite a bit! In most other novels, the story starts with the MC being forced into marriage. Here, the MC is just recently widowed, which changes things a bit. Thankfully, the MC is not your typical 'soft-shou-MC'. He's very strong-willed and he knows how to fight for a peaceful life. And so, not only does he manage to protect the original owner's children, but he also finds himself a second husband -- the ML, who is a general that just came back from the war.

THOUGHTS:

Because most of what I read was in MTL, I don't dare to write my usual in-depth review. However, when it comes to the usual criteria, I can still share a bit. For example, I thought that the characters of this novel were pretty good. You still had your typical cannon fodders that were completely unrealistic to provide good face-slapping segments. But, aside from them, the side characters were very simple and easy to like. The main characters also were not your usual MC and ML, which was interesting.

As for the setting, this novel is set in a world where there is no such thing as women, only Gers. Gers, that can give birth to children but had the same body (externally) as a man. The main characters don't touch the more complicated matters in the capital all that much, so the focus is on the simple rural life. The MC doesn't hesitate to improve his family's living conditions by making money, but he's not ambitious or greedy, so he shares blessings with everyone. ALL in all, if you enjoy poor-to-rich developments and farming novels (which I happen to do), this is definitely not a bad one to invest some time in.

Although you can't say that this novel is top-quality goods, I think it's a lot better than some of the other similar novels out there. Mostly because it's a lot more chill (though there's still lots of irrelevant drama that you can skip if you want.) When the MC was dropped into the role of demon king, it's without any of the original's memories. Oh, and the lower realm is also facing a large debt after losing a war against the Church and the Human Empires. Fortunately, the MC has a golden finger! This golden finger is his cellphone, which can be recharged and is always connected to the internet -- giving the MC direct access to the modern world's technologies and knowledge.Ahhhh I love this kind of worldbuilding novel~ And this one is fun because it takes lots of culture and knowledge from all over the world. To begin with, there are lots of movie and anime references (as well as novel references), and the author is always throwing out shocking, obscure facts by way of humorous exposition (the MC is very humorous in general). The only downside is that the development of characters and relationships is not a focus. There are great characters in the novels -- all of whom play their own roles sooner or later -- but they're most self-aware than most, so they don't have to go through too much polishing. The MC is also mainly focused on developing the lower realms with modern culture, so the perspective is definitely skewed.Overall, I recommend this novel if you're interested in infrastructure or poor-to-rich development, as I like to call it. The translation is of good quality, so there's no reason not to read it! It's also almost complete too (which is why I started reading it in the first place, hehe.)(Update: 12/26/2022) I reread the first 80 chapters and then skipped to where I was before (c182). I can see why I stopped now. I enjoyed the first half of the story because it felt very whimsical. The focus is infrastructure and stuff. It would be fine if the characters were up to standard, but as fun as these characters were, they really weren't all that complex and inviting. So yeah. I was initially hesitant about it because the reviews looked like they were half-positive and half-negative. But I guess that worked out in my favor too? Anyway, let me explain... The MC of this novel transmigrates in a novel as the 6yo Little Earl of a small territory in the Western Kingdom (the novel is historically set in the Middle Ages). He's equipped with a SYSTEM that gives him access to modern and futuristic technology so that he can deviate from the intended plot of the novel.... more>> If he doesn't, he runs the risk of getting the same bad end as the original Earl, who died as canon fodder because he dared to chase after the heroine's main lead.

Ironically, while this novel satirizes the fact that the original protagonist of the novel was a Mary Sue, the MC of this novel ends up being a bit of a Gary Sue himself. Because of the SYSTEM, he is able to accomplish practically anything, and with his beauty and skills, he manages to wrangle a number of male leads who inexplicably fall in love with him along the way. Anyway, because I was pre-warned about this OP-ness and the poor romantic development, I didn't mind it so much and just focused on the way the MC slowly advanced the development of his territory with modern technology and practices. I enjoy that kind of thing~ Though I understand some people may not people the same LOL.

The TL is a little bit difficult to understand at times, but its quality is pretty stable. I would definitely have preferred to read it completed, but since it's not, I ended up going for the MTL -- which actually was not bad. The mix-up with the names (translation of Western Names written in Chinese back to English is... well >.< not good) kind of confuses things, but the general text is about 80% readable (definitely better than most novels.) <<less

So you can fully enjoy the chill farming/poor-to-rich development. Of course, if you're not the type to enjoy such stories, this novel may be a bit boring for you, but if you're interested in such novels, I guarantee that its worth the read. Just, be aware, it's a bit difficult to understand at times (IDK if it's because of the author's writing style or the translation), but yeah, some things are really a bit clumsy. SUMMARY:

This is your typical case of someone from modern times transmigrating to the past with a golden finger in order to get rich XD. The MC, Miao He, awakens as a recently married Ger with a horrible reputation. He falls into the category of 'soft-kneed and soft-hearted shou', so unlike most MC's that you see falling into this kind of 'family drama' situation, his first instinct is to get along with people (rather than break relationships). This ends up working just right for him. After all, his current husband (the ML, Yang Dalang) is very responsible and hard-working. To spice things up, the MC transmigrated with a golden finger (living soil = a ball of soil that can nourish the land and increase rate of growth of plants by x100 times) and there is another transmigrator around (though he ends up not playing all that big a role, he just provides contrast to the MC.)

THOUGHTS:

Because most of what I read was in MTL, I won't be doing a full review this time. All I can say is, that while the novel is far from perfect, it just so happened to hit all the right spots for me. I love farming novels like this, I find it really satisfying and relaxing. The reason I didn't end up reading this before was because I was afraid of the MTL, but it turned out that the quality of the MTL is not all that different from the TL available. Seriously! IDK how the author did it, but the MTL is very good! Outside of a couple of terms not being translated (e.g., yuanshen = i think it's original owner, xiyang = the cheat) that I could only guess from context, the reading experience was not bad. At least, 80-85% comprehensible. SO, if you're hesitating to read it because of the TL matters, there's no reason to not try.

I was expecting this to be a farming-type novel -- you know, with the usual family drama and stuff. And while there is a little of the later involved, the main focus of the story is actually on cooking and business management. The MC was sold to the ML and he decides to pay the debt back by establishing a restaurant slowly. His background as a chef allows him to do this easily, and he's hard working enough that he manages to do make money in no time.

I would recommend this novel to those that are looking for something simple and semi-sweet. There's a bit of background drama cause the main CP keep a lot of secrets from each other. But the slice of life aspects are mainly on business, so! Yeah! If you like that poor-to-rich kinda of vibe, this is worth the read! The TL at Knoxt is still ongoing but the quality is good! I read some of the MTL, which is not the best, but it's not the worst either! <<less

This is very much like your typical 'modern man transmigrates into ancient times to make money' novel. It's just ... hm. It's just a little more chill than the usual ones! Here, the MC, Zhang Ziqi, finds himself transmigrating into the body of a young Ger (this is a world without females, just males and males who can't give birth -- called Gers) who had been sold off by his guardians to become the wife of the village's fool (the ML, Zhao Zheng'an). After marriage, nevermind having the support of his husband's new family, they were quickly separated and forced... more>> to live in the old ancestral home at the edge of the village with only one tael of silver and three acres of farmland to start off with.

Of course, as a "poor-to-rich" novel, this start doesn't stump the MC at all. He makes use of modern knowledge and his above-average cooking skills in order to make a living (that's right, cooking. There's not much actual farming in this novel). The novel is short and relatively simple, not bad to read if you have spare time, but it's not all that exciting either. There's nothing too special about it, which is both its good and bad point. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that it wouldn't hurt to try it out, just don't have too high expectations!

The first time I read it, I only read up to c68 and rated it at 3.5/5 stars. This time, I read a little more, making it all the way to c82. Still not quite to the end, and there were times I almost gave up at the same point as last time XD But, altogether, it's not a bad experience. I changed the rating to 3.4/5 stars. Not because I thought the experience was worse than before, but because my rating scale changed since the last time, and this is more fitting. <<less

The story would go into great detail about all the meals that he cooks (which he shares through live streaming) and intersperses some plot and romance in the background. As for our ML, he takes a background role for the most part -- showing up only when the plot kicks in as a fan of the MC and the impressive Marshall that becomes one of the MC's strongest backers. (Note: I didn't finish the novel! But, I did like it. Just wasn't all that invested cause the plot was pretty minimal and the food aspect not as enticing as a non-foodie). <<less

My current opinion is that the novel is a good read if you’re interested in novels with “game elements” and “primitive/tribal” environments.Theres is a focus in the romance here as well, though it’s admittedly a little clumsy (complete with the typical straight-guy!shou and the silent-and-stoic!gong.) I wish there was more details about the game elements and the infrastructure T.T as it is, I only got hints of that. Though that may also be the fault of the MTL. The TL quality is good but the MTL is only 65-70% readable. If I had to give this a rating now... I would give it somewhere between 3.12-3.3 out of 5 rating. Either way, it would be a 3-Star Novel for me. I’m not doing a full review because a large chunk of the story was read in MTL, and I can’t say for sure whether my impression is wrong based on misunderstandings T.T <<less

(Updated: 2nd Reread - 03/22/2023) Reread it, and can now confirm that it is not a mood thing. The reason why I can't get myself to continue reading this novel is that it's a bit of a mess. The world is set in the zombie apocalypse but the zombies are not really zombies (most of the ones we see on screen are conscious) and there are plotholes everywhere. Anyway, no amount of ranting will truly get my point across, so let me just say this --- it's an okay novel, but the plot was clumsily executed and the MC and ML were not strong enough as protagonists to hold up the failing plot (I hope that makes sense XD).

SUMMARY: The MC, Mu Yifan, is an author that transmigrates into his own zombie apocalypse novel. He takes on the role of Mu Yifan, the Zombie King that was directly at odds with the protagonist (AKA, the ML Zhan Betia). He fully expects that the protagonist will kill him after he regains his memories of the previous timeline (wherein the protagonist dies at the hand of OG!MYF). MC thus decides it would be best to kill the protagonist off so that he could go back to his own world. Unfortunately, he's trumped again and again by the fact that the protagonist looks like his best friend in real life (also named Zhan Beitian). So, instead of successfully finishing off the protagonist, he ends up magically pregnant with the ML's baby lolol.

And it could also because the author fails so hard when it comes to setting up the world. IDK. It's not for me, but I'm glad I picked it up anyway, since it was a good way to waste time for a while. Oh, btw, the first time I read this, I only read up to 117 and my rating was vaguely 3 stars. This time, I made it a little further (C163) and the final rating is 3.08! (As a final note, the TLs for this novel are all over the place. I recommend reading the first few from the original translator and going straight to MTL-ing it on Google Translate.) <<less

I think I'll remember the first arc for a long time!The main premise of this novel is transmigration into an alternate world. Here, there are no females or males (at least, not as we know it.) There are males who have two pen*ses. And "females" who can give birth who have only one pen*s. Yeah, that part doesn't make much sense, but I found the rest interesting. This world can be considered a fantasy world. Not necessarily your usual cultivation one, but there are similarities. To put it simply, it's a world that's ruled by the strong. Pretty chaotic, especially since certain people, with special abilities and bloodlines, are able to rule over others quite easily. The three main characters all appear as children at first. They lived in the lowest of the low — the slums of this universe.The MC transmigrates and realizes that he's considered a female in this world. He meets ML1 (red hair) early, who discovers his gender, and ends up becoming his future wife-to-be. Not long after, he's also introduced to ML2 (white hair), who is a little more distant towards him, but undeniably fascinates the MC more from the very beginning. The romantic development between the the starts off sweet, but poor handling makes the 3P rather awkward and unhealthy (I consider it unhealthy since both MLs are constantly feeling hurt and the MC constantly feeling guilty.)I don't recommend reading this if you don't like infidelity in novels! But, if you're curious about the setting I described, then I think it might be worth a try? The TLs so far are good, and the MTL is at least 65-70% readable. So there's no reason not to!EXTRA NOTE: This novel does have a couple of smut scenes (more so after the first 70 chapters.) They're not super graphic, but the characters still do the do on screen (and such scenes take up one or two chapters, so yeah!) By the way… the MLs are both younger than the MC. They're both considered adults (15 in their world) by the time they do anything serious, the two are quite mature (both mentally and physically! by that time, but some may have an issue with that! Especially because of the MC's Unknowing-Mary-Sue-Grooming of both of them from the age of ten.  <<less

I read it till the end this time (previously, I only read up to c42). The MTL is readable if you plug the raw chapters into google translate (simplified Chinese to English). All I can say is that it's a novel that's more comedic than serious. The focus isn't really on survival, as the zombie apocalypse setting may imply. The tone of the novel is very comedic because of the POV character and the style of narration (which is full of slang). The direction is also a bit... more>> silly --- so, it's not really a novel to be taken very seriously. I say read it if you want to turn off your brain for a bit and just relax. It's not bad for that purpose~ My initial rating for this novel was 2.8/5, which seems just about right to me!

Plot: MC Lian Hua gets transmigrated into a novel that he had just finished reading. It's a BL novel set in the apocalypse! The only issue is, as a manly and simple kind of man, he ends up in the role of the novel's white lotus scum villain Bai Lianhua. This scummy shou stole the protagonist's love interest and ended up killing the protagonist in the original timeline. Of course, the protagonist got his revenge on him in the second timeline, which is what MC is now scared of! Sucks to suck, however, he ends up being dragged into the protagonist's storyline. <<less

UPDATE REVIEW: October 28, 2022

I made it further this time! After reading all sorts of messy MTLs, the quality of the TL was a bit more bearable for me. The reason I ended up quitting is because it got kind of boring. I think it's fine if you're looking for a chill novel with strong slice of life vibes, but anything outside of that?? Nah.

The initial premise of the story: The MC (Gong!) transmigrates back into Ancient Times with a magical space filled with the products of the convenience store he had owned in his previous world. He uses this and his modern knowledge in order to make a name for himself during such backward times. So that's how the story starts!! But, as the story goes further, it kind of loses focus. It becomes more about the drama of other people (face-slapping that is not so satisfying because the people in question are not so reprehensible in my opinion) as well as occassional poor-to-rich developments that don't leave much impact because of a lack of drive. I just didn't care that about the characters all that much, I guess. They're not bad characters, but they lack a little something something, and are pretty easily forgotten.

All in all? Not a bad read, I'm not doing a full review because I didn't make it halfway. But my rating for the novel is around 2/5 stars. Specifically, idk... maybe 2.5? <<less

SUMMARY: MC (Gong, Xu Ran) transmigrates to Ancient China and ends up as the married fool of the Xu Family. His new family (his Ger husband, Shou - Liu Tong -- and twin sons) are not treated well by his paternal family, so he cooks up a plan to separate and then make money after pretending to be cured. This doesn't really explore the character or romance aspect. It's based purely on Poor-to-Rich Country living where the MC and his family start off with literally nothing and work their way up — tho they remain humble and stick to farming life the whole time.

THOUGHTS: Recommended if you're looking for that kind of wholesome Get-Rich story. However, keep in mind that the writing style is very perfunctory. This is very much a plot-driven story, the characters are just there to fill in some roles (literally, they just act cute XD they have no substance to them at all.) Because of this, the story goes against everything I like about reading novels, which is why I rated it so low tbh. I mean, two out of four of my criteria are based on the characters and their relationships. So, the fact that the characters are so blank here makes it impossible for me to have given it too high of a rating no matter what.

(Oh, btw, the first time I read this, I was still pretty new to the CN novels scene and ended up mistaking MTL for the TL. As a result, I thought it was horrible XD. This time, I read the TL from Wattpad, and that was a little better.) <<less

[Transmigration, Modern Day, ABO] This is the kind of novel I usually avoid, but after rereading a pretty wild novel, I thought it would be healing to read a bit of this slice of life ABO~ The experience was not bad, but I have to sleep now and don’t think I will be finishing the novel in the future. The main focus of the story is the romance between a late-differentiating omega who transmigrated into a novel thinking all he had to do was avoid the main characters in order to live a good life. His counterpart is an Alpha who, after repeatedly being forced to suffer through countless omega springing their pheromones on... more>> him, prefers a beta to marry in order to inherit the family property.

Its a pretty chill novel. The tone is very dry, with similarly dry humor interspersed. The main character starts off as an indifferent salted fish type character but he gradually evolved to become a bit bratty and over spoiled (which is one of the reason I don’t think I’ll be picking the novel back up in the morning). The ML is an overbearing CEO type whose main key point is being narcissistic (which I admittedly found pretty humorous and charming LOLOL)

I got a lot farther this time, but I really wasn’t expecting the novel to be so slow-paced! The main premise of the novel follows the typical, MC time travels to the Primitive Era and is picked up by the ML. Here, things are made a little more complicated with the presence of Beastmen and Dragons. The environment is very different from Earth as well. And without a golden finger, all the MC can rely on his modern knowledge to improve his standards of living in this strange new environment. This novel is a slice of life novel through and through. I was expecting there to be more clan building and infrastructure building. But the slow pacing makes it so the main focus is on the day to day living instead. So you get a lot of primitive era cooking, house building, hunting, etc. This is not what I was looking for specifically, but I enjoyed it quite a bit regardless. It’s good for a casual read through. I didn’t end up finishing it cause I wanted to wait for the more Betwixted TL chapters T.T The edited MTL at idleturtle is not bad either though! It’s readable, but the slow pacing makes it a little difficult in the long term. I decided fo leave this unrated for now because I only read about half. I’ll write a full review next time! The only reason I didn't finish reading was because the MTL became more and more intolerable after a bunch of characters and new tribes were introduced T.T MTL and Chinese Nouns are not very friendly with each other... If you're looking for romance, this is not the novel to look for it! The ML is mostly just... there? The main focus of the novel is infrastructure, childcare, andddd external conflicts (tribes vs tribes, etc.) The first arc is very close to simple pastoral living. Then we get to bigger clan building in the second arc and finally kingdom building in the last arc (with a focus on education in a tribal community.)

I enjoyed the first two arcs most, this latest arc with the students and the war doesn't interest me as much. Still, I consider it an enjoyable read overall! Even if the quality may not be the best? For those interested in trying it out, the MTL is around 70% readable in the first two arcs. The further you go, the more difficult it is to read. I think, around the 80s-90s, it it began to drop from 65% readable to 60% readable. <<less

The premise of the novel is very similar to your usual "MC-Transmigrates-into-Ancient-China-and-Makes-A-Lot of Money" story. He has a 'cool' background that enables him to make everything from jam, to wine, to improved steel, etc. with this, he makes a lot of money.Of course, just like any novel of this type, there are countless cannon fodder villains getting in the way (shrews, shameless family members, etc). And, in the process he creates a big family and falls in love. Though the romance is rather potiable. The development is awkward af. If I had to rate this novel (I'm not going to because I didn't even read half of it), I wouldn't give it a very high score. Barely 2-3 stars (maybe 2.5/5) at the highest. Even then, that's mainly because I enjoy poor-to-rich developments. If that's not your think, I think you wouldn't like this novel very much. <<less

[Transmigration, Historical (Ancient China), Wars, Kingdom-Building] I really like this novel, but while the MTL is readable, I would prefer to wait till the CG TL is done T.T They did very well for this one! It's really a great novel if you're interested in learning a little something something. Most of what happens in the story appears to be consistent with what happened at the time -- though, of course, the appearance of the MC with his golden finger (modern knowledge) shook things up after a while (and it did take a while, because the MC was really focused more on protecting his people at first and had no true ambition when it... more>> came to taking down the throne and becoming emperor).

This novel mixes kingdom-building, infrastructure-building, political intrigue, and action. The romance is mostly a side thing, though it's great if you're looking for internal conflicts (the ML's development is really bitter-sweet to watch!! T.T) since the MC starts off as very straight.

I wouldn't recommend this novel if you're not interested in history since there are a lot of chapters spent recounting history from the views of the people at the time. There's another novel very similar to this one when it comes to style. I think it was called... "Doing Charity in the Ming Dynasty??" only that one was more fast-paced. The two are similar because they're plot-driven. Though I prefer the "Royal Road" more because it spends more time on the MC and ML~ It's also a little bit slower paced -- which is good for someone like me who prefers long novels! If you're the opposite, you can check out the charity in the ming dynasty novel instead!

For now, I won't be writing a full review because not even half was translated and I skimmed through most of the MTL-ed chapters I ended up reading. My opinion of the novel is already pretty high though! I think, if I were to give it a rating, it would be between 4-5 stars! <<less

I ended up dropping it because it got a bit repetitive.... more>> I think it would have been fine if I was reading the full translation, but the further you go, the more confusing and senseless the descriptions of the stone gambling becomes when read in MTL XD. This story mainly focuses on that aspect, but it explores quite a few facets of it. The MC (Bai Jing) came from an apocalyptic world and due to his special ability, he was able to make a name for himself in this world where jadeites are a necessity of life. Not just in gambling, but also in converting energy and such. He's definitely your 'Gary Stu' kind with lots of abilities and very little shortcomings. The ML is also your typical toolman. Both of these are not necessarily bad, but it does mean that the character development is a bit meh. Just okay?If you like poor-to-rich development, then you should like this novel just about as much as I did! I really did enjoy those aspects, and the way the stone gambling interacted with the sci-fi environment was also interesting. I wasn't all that into the mecha parts. They kinda felt forced in, and there was no real purpose for them. So I skipped most of those parts and can't comment much on it LOLAll in all, an okay read. Not too bad. I won't be giving it a rating because the MTL was not the best in quality and I'm not sure if my impression of the novel was critically impacted because of it. But, at the moment, I can say that, based on this very biased experience, it would have probably been about 3 stars. The lower end. Not surpassing 3.3. <<less

However, if you're like me and you enjoy the aforementioned tropes, then this is something that can be read when you have free time. The only reason I stopped reading is that I'm antsy for something a little more lively. Plus, the MTL, while at least 70% readable, is still a bit dizzying. There are so many name errors (The MC is called Li Feng, the ML Li, and the original owner Feng. The author changes it later, but still, I kept seeing them call the ML Li Feng, and the MC Li, etc., etc.)

SUMMARY:

The MC, Li Feng, is a journalist that ends up transmigrating after being struck by lightning. When he came to, he was in the process of giving birth (as a male XD), but he doesn't really register this. The first thing he registers upon waking up later is that he has been transmigrated into a primitive era. And, unlike other primitive-era novels, where the characters are either beastkin or the like, the humans here cannot be any more normal. As such, the MC doesn't have any other golden finger outside of the modern knowledge he brought with him upon transmigration. As for the ML, he was already together with the original owner before the MC transmigrated, and their relationship wasn't bad. It's just, I guess, in ancient times, people didn't really care much for their partners. Or, at least, not to the point that they noticed them changing so significantly lol.

THOUGHTS:

Outside of what I mentioned in the beginning, the story has a lot of other small issues. When it comes down to it, it's a self-indulgent slice of life novel (similar to the other low-quality ancient china farming novels that you see where the development is mainly on making money or infrastructure-building -- the characters are secondary and it's not the most realistic.) Because of this, I wouldn't recommend reading it unless you just happen to be interested in such tropes. I happen to be that kind of person, so I plan to come back to reread it later lolol XD low-quality or whatnot. It's readable and to my taste, so why not? AH, but I won't be rating this until I reread it later. <<less

Of course, I'm not saying that it's good, but if you like fast-food-level entertainment, it certainly works out! jflskfjlafj i sound like I'm being sarcastic when I put it that way but I really mean it XD. I read this till the end, which proves that I liked it well enough (well, I skimmed the extras, so its technically not till the very end, BUT yeah). Just keep in mind that this novel is quite flawed. You'll have to suspend disbelief quite a bit, and tolerate a very OP MC with extremely convenient abilities (as in, abilities that are super powerful that only come... more>> up once before being forgotten about LMFAO) ... BUT, if you like face-slapping and royal family drama, it should be enough to spend your time on.

SUMMARY: The MC of this novel, Jiang Lin, is a modern transmigrator. He's not your typical one, however. He came from an apocalyptic time -- one with zombies and magical space abilities. After transmigration, he makes use of his cheat and his various skills to face-slap his opponents one by one. All while flirting with his new husband, the ML, Wei Yunzhao, who was poisoned by malicious people. The general plot is a bit hard to summarize in a few sentences. It's complicated xD. The development is all based on a book where the original owner of the MC's body and the ML are both cannon fodders that were meant to die and give the heroine and protagonist a chance to thrive and rule the country. The original heroine has a SYSTEM in her head driving her to become the empress, and she'll do everything she can to achieve this. Aside from her, various troublemakers will come knocking down the MC and ML's door again and again.

THOUGHTS: As mentioned, if you like face-slapping and drama, this is not bad. The story is primarily plot-driven, so the pacing is quite fast and the characters are there mostly for amus**ent and entertainment than anything else (that is, they serve whatever roles the author's set for them and don't do much else -- this is the case for the MC and ML as well). As someone who primarily enjoys character-driven works, it's natural that my impression of the novel is not the best. It's just fine. I thought it was fun. Nothing too impressive, but still entertaining. For this reason, I read till the end. AND, I think it's worth a 3.3/5 rating. I kept it to that amount because I don't think this novel deserves a 4 star rating. At most, it would be closer to 3.49. But never enough to round up to 4 stars. <<less
