Zhuang Yu stood on the back of a big blue fish with a stone spear in his hand. Below him were patches of green fields, with herds of cattle and sheep all over the mountains. The dark asphalt road led straight to the distance. The children were laughing as they herded cattle and sheep, while the water wheel next to them was flowing with white water. This is Zhuang Yu’s home. Originally, there was endless yellow sand everywhere, thousands of miles of barren lands, a lack of food, water, salt, and clothes. They lived the hardest life. Now, everything is different. Everyone has a happy expression on their faces and is full of hope for the future.

Good story. Take note that The novel doesn't focus much on Romance. The story is not a complicated; it is light hearted with good (not great) plot which suits my taste but the ending is a little rushed. It is very hilarious and engaging. Though some parts are monotonous, it is okay since I still have the laugh aftermath from the previous chapter. I like the little 🍄, he's so funny XD.
Spoiler

The combat exams and power of other tribe inheritance reminds me of Naruto chunin exam, it feels like it is copied, but I still love it. I had so much laughs

The MC is not from the future. He is the "see spoiler below". He is a native of this backward world not of earth. He is only able to become another person of other world through his dream due to the power of his beast (forgot term for that big fish). And he makes use of the knowledge and experiences from the different world to improve his nation condition. Because among the great nation his is the least because it is in dessert. I like his personality, probably I feel that the ML is a little lacking. For the differences in personalities etc, they explained in the story. He has many powerful beasts and able to control them due to the power of his tribe inheritance. I like how hard working he is and his concern to his people. Since it is mentioned in the story the hardships he and his people experienced to improve their very poor place
Spoiler

he is the successor of chidi dynasty that is betrothed to ML. But he wants to break the engagement so he acts like a jerk to be hated. However, he likes the experiences in his dreams and isvery "into" it. This makes him dream more longer and makes him forgot his original identity.

MTL completed, readability 80%.

MC took everything by himself, only after it was developed into perfection then he gave the technology/food/invention to his people. Moreover he could take all that works in a short time, it's like magic.

In a way, he's super knowledgeable and Gary Stu lucky.

Well, this was just a fun read to pass the time.

Loved it! Ending is not rushed, just not fully expanded on, but still really enjoyed reading it.

It has everything you really like
Spoiler

tribes (power, contract beasts, rank, hierarchy, etc.), development (clothes - styles/materials, infrastructure, technology - production, etc.), food (cooking, spices, ingredients, farming, etc.), beauty (soap, shampoo, community, etc.)

but I would have loved more on some side characters.

Easy to mtl too!

I really love this novel. It’s essentially a modern knowledge in tribal times infrastructure building novel with an interesting world setting that I have not seen in other tribal times novels.

ending is abrupt but also there is a sense of completion.

VERY Gary Stu.

MC was an archeologist, yet he can farm, build kilns, make iron weapons, cook better than a chef, knows how to raise various livestock, how to dig wells, make irrigation systems, hunt... the list goes on.

Then there’s the whole hidden identity plot that went on for way too long, only because the oh so intelligent MC is suddenly dumb as a slice of bread when it comes to this subplot.

... more>> Face slapping, over and over.

ML is barely there, he’s more of a side-character than the actual side-characters.

It’s a very basic prehistoric fantasy novel that has been done much better before and after this one, recommended only if you are really into this trope and just want to waste some time on something you haven't read. <<less

I love infrastructure stories, so it's not a surprise for me to have enjoyed this novel. The only reason I didn't finish reading was because the MTL became more and more intolerable after a bunch of characters and new tribes were introduced T.T MTL and Chinese Nouns are not very friendly with each other... The premise of this novel is similar to the usual "Transmigrate into the Primitive Era to Build Infrastructure." The MC is the type of person that knows a whole bunch of obscure knowledge and he uses... more>> this in order to make advancements in all the environments that he goes to. He starts by improving his own life and the lives of the unrecognized children in a small tribe, and slowly, but surely, make bigger and broader actions after becoming entangled with the mysterious past of the original owner of his new body.

If you're looking for romance, this is not the novel to look for it! The ML is mostly just... there? The main focus of the novel is infrastructure, childcare, andddd external conflicts (tribes vs tribes, etc.) The first arc is very close to simple pastoral living. Then we get to bigger clan building in the second arc and finally kingdom building in the last arc (with a focus on education in a tribal community.)

I enjoyed the first two arcs most, this latest arc with the students and the war doesn't interest me as much. Still, I consider it an enjoyable read overall! Even if the quality may not be the best? For those interested in trying it out, the MTL is around 70% readable in the first two arcs. The further you go, the more difficult it is to read. I think, around the 80s-90s, it it began to drop from 65% readable to 60% readable.

RATING:

Not going to do a thorough review for this one because a bulk of what I read was in MTL and I can't be sure that I understood it correctly. T.T I'll wait till the translation is further along! Preliminary rating is around 3/5, with a personal enjoyment rating of around 3.5/5. <<less

Those who gave these low rating are probably those who didn't even finish reading the novel.

It was good. I like novel's of this genre involving tribes, beast, kingdom building, etc.

I liked how it started from simple to kingdom building. The romance was not focused though just in case that's what you are looking for a novel.

I would have loved to read some parts on the side characters as they are interesting.

This is one of those few novels that I wished had more chapters. It lacks romance and honestly, the ML is barely there, only appearing to further the plot of the story, but I really didn't missed him or it. The novel focused more on MC and his goal of improving the lives of his kingdom and his people, then eventually to garnering peace, civilization, knowledge, and understanding throughout the world. Idealistic at times but it made the novel interesting. The one thing that confuses me is that the cities... more>> built on the backs of beasts. Throughout the novel these cities and beasts remained stationary. That in itself astounds me. Living things do not often remain stationary and moves about frequently, like the land of Zou from One Piece (a city built on the back of a massive elephant). That the cities remained still time after time made me wonder if this plot point had been overlooked by the author if there was something else keeping those beasts there. ╮ (︶▽︶) ╭ What I I liked the most was the little mushroom. It was endearing, amusing, and adorable. I never got tired of its scenes, but I wonder what was the point of the pear tree that they say connect heaven and earth, or if it's just the little mushroom's "beast". What I also found amusing was that the ML's grove went nowhere. I'm assuming that the grove is the place his people went to fornicate but after ML's enthusiasm towards building it, I found it funny that it was never touched on afterwards. The novel had cuteness, slight farming, slight cooking, interesting people with different abilities, and battles. What I wished it compounded more on was the time after peace was attained. One can assumed what happened but I wished I could had read it instead. <<less
