Ok my rate is 4.5

It's actually a very interesting take on primitive background of the story.

The flow of the story was smooth and despite being a slice of life novel, you won't get bored with the characters.

I actually like the ML, more than the MC.

Unfortunately, this is the author's first novel and as he explained, he was a bit nervous about this, thus the story ended abruptly.

This is my only complain but according to the author he will write extras. But it's not yet out as of date.

The novel was alright until about 70 chapters in when you realize everything is starting to get rushed to the ending. Now that I’ve finished it, when compared to novels of a similar genre like “Banished to Another World”, this is the the kindergarten, picture version of it. There was a lot of potential but there are a lot of plot holes.

Translator did an awesome job, there were no gender mispronouncing and everything was very easy to read understand.

A really nice novel to pass time. I mtl'ed my way through the novel in 2 days, it's quite easy.

The MC and ML have a really loving relationship and they respect each other.

The side characters like the tribe members and other are really funny and there were some good interactions.

MC helped the tribe build a kingdom with his golden finger and modern knowledge, and of course his cooking skills. The ending was a little abrupt, I wanted there to be a few more scenes of their marriage and life but... more>> overall it is a good read. <<less

At the beginning it was a good light slice of life read, the Matai tribe is very tender and loyal, but as the story progressed it was very disappointing.

MC is a chef? It is a piece of information that is not even needed, there is no deep focus on food beyond a rich barbecue and vegetable soup, the worst thing is that the author does not develop almost any of the moments of tension, the enemies, the fights and moments of tension are counted later, they only raise the problems... more>> and then they say that it is over and it was very hard... there are no explanations or allusions to why travel with lion meat happens, if he found a way of extending the shelf life, there is also no indication that it happened to Cha Zhe or Er Dai.

In summary, it had a good start and a promising development on the development of primitive society but then the author did not know how to extend the scenarios.

The CP was not very remarkable either, ML is the typical cold character who falls in love with MC, it can be noted that at the beginning he tries not to fall in love with MC. About MC... it's normal I suppose, at the beginning he denies his feelings because the differences between a matai and a human, but then they solve it.. I think it was not too clear, literally in the final chapter there was defense of the village, communication with old people enemies, subjugation of the tribes and the witch on the opposite side, telling the truth to society and her wedding, was almost a new topic every two or three paragraphs. <<less

The MC is kind of foolish he keeps behaving like the people of the Primitive world are the same as the "real world" like hello 🙌 ... more>>
Spoiler

also Cha zhe ! Dude not to be heartless but he should have been buried for what he did. Also he knows everything about your witch power, healing ect and you just let him go illogical! Also a Primitive man just let him go ???eyebrow raised , well whatever its all made up but seriously 😐aside from that I like the novel and give it 3.5 for now

As someone who loves primitive world, survival and tribal society novels this should've been perfect for me. Even if the novel is completely cliche, I usually still read them since I love these genre. And starting to read I could see that I could also love this one... except for its biggest flaw that makes me unable to stand this novel. the story has no clear flow, you're always jumping from one event to the next left wondering what happened. At the end of the chapter ML wants to kill... more>> MC then the next chapter they're all happily eating at the tribes place. One moment ML is talking he's going to kill the wolf king, next chapter the wolf is dead and MC has to be intimate with ML??? Like what the hell..... Can't stand the jumps so I'm dropping this novel.

I love these genre and would've loved this novel. Sad to drop it but I can't stand the jumps.

If it weren't written in this jumping from one event to the next without explanation then I would've finished reading it and probably rated it 5 stars.

For those who like these genre and can stand event jumps this will be a good read, for those that can't stand them... another book would be better to read. <<less

Pretty entertaining read, I give it a 3/5 stars so far.

. The ML is likeable...a bit to possessive of MC but not to a toxic degree... hopefully it doesn't come to that.

. The MC is ok...I guess, one thing that's really grinding my gears about him though is he tends to only see things the way he wants to see them & is set in his beliefs & thinks that other people will see things the way he does or believes the other people won't see things the same as... more>> him as if there is no in between or compromise. For example he firmly believed that just cuz of a few bad words about "broken men" (gay people) meant that everyone in that world has the same negative views on them, when in reality... no one actually cares & even supports him & ML being together. MC is... unintentionally prejudiced towards some things on top of being well... naive, he often passively forces his opinions onto others. Like with one of the 18 yr old tribesmen he constantly calls him a child and firmly believes they are an incapable child, saying they cannot do this or go there cuz he sees this person as a small child. Like bro... I get your older than him but can you relax & let people have freedom & stop being so condescending & manipulative? Also MC does not care in particular about this individual, MC seems to just like waving his elder flag above his head & even though this person asked MC multiple times to stop calling him a child MC ignores him Like my guy you realize this person has a name you could use right? I feel like MC taunting this guy like this as well as affection baiting him cuz it was a system task is what in the end is making this character have bad intentions towards MC. Never play with peoples emotions unless you wanna fk around & find out =_=. MC also has a... somewhat fragile ego, he immediately gets angry when he feels like someone disdains or doesn't care about him or his stuff.

. MCs IQ is ok but a lil sketchy at times & his EQ is... questionable, He often is confused with his sexuality which is normal but he gets so conflicted he turns idiotic. Like Bro says he's straight as a pencil but then admits he was turned on by ML & then goes n says he's not attracted to women but then changes his mind n says he is attracted to women & even had some crushes before. After that he does obvious g*y things with ML & then still tries to say he's pencil straight n even continues to say n think prejudiced things about homosexuality. Like bro you are not in modern times you are in the primitive stone age the social norms are not the same so stop putting your morals & beliefs on others... that's beyond closeted denial.

.I'm trying to not dislike MC but... he's making it difficult.

.I wish it was explained why this mysterious system chose MC & why in the beginning cooking comp when he was judging that boys food it was apparently that primitive worlds lion meat. How did this mysterious boy get that meat? why did he feed it to MC? Is he originally like MC? A transmigrator? Odds are it wont be explained like in so many other novels with giant plot holes. *Sigh* <<less

First of all, the story doesn't end at all, it's like it's just about to reach the climax. It seems like the author didn't want to continue the story so he immediately stopped it.

The premise is good but the execution is poor. MC is too childish and naive, very easy to trust other people. The Matai tribe also trusts MC too easily. Many things are not explained well so it is quite annoying.

In terms of story, I can only give 3 stars, but because the premise is good and I... more>> like the genre, it's 3.5 stars. <<less

Won’t continue reading for now...

I don’t like MC’s personality.

He was initially going to be killed by ML and his tribe.

Then, he happily helps them without any worries and shows that he can “magically” heal them and that he has a storage space.

I just feel that everything is going too fast. He doesn’t even try to hide his capabilities at first, afterall, the ML did try to kill him before.

I just don’t like it that much how fast paced the novel seems

But still, give this novel a try!

I originally really loved this novel, it was just a relaxing and fun read with no big drama, but it got a bit frustrating nearing the end.

First of all there was all that Cha Zhe drama ... more>>
Spoiler

I still don’t understand how no one from Matai saw the kidnapping but the person from the three big tribes spying on them clearly saw the kidnapping. And I do think Cha Zhe got off way too easy, it just felt unsatisfying letting him go without any punishment. He literally only got punched once by the MC when MC escaped and that’s it. Clearly this wasn’t enough to make him regret his actions as when he appears in front of MC again later on he threatens to kidnap/force himself on MC again.

[collapse]

Then there’s the biggest plot hole in the story, which might not be a big deal but it just frustrated me. It’s about one guy in the second couple or hinted second couple since it’s never confirmed
Spoiler

But Le Shui, a Matai tribe person was stated multiple times to have a wife, the ML even went to him for advice on how to court someone because of that. Here is the literal paragraph from the novel:

Tai Lie found Le Shui, who was married, and asked with a serious expression, “How did you get Xia Hua to agree to marry you?”

But later on this Xia Hua is suddenly the partner of Shan Pu who has not yet agreed to marry him??? So Author literally forgot that they made her the wife of someone else and just decided to make her Shan Pu's partner while the previously married Le Shui is single because she wants him to get together with Er Dai, the s*ave who helped MC escape the kidnapping. Sorry but this just frustrated me every time I saw intimate scenes between the second couple

[collapse]

And lastly, the ending
Spoiler

There's not much to say except it being way too short and abrupt, the big boss who's behind the slaughter of the Matai tribe and the slaughter of Cha Zhe's tribe, is the witch of the three tribes (No surprise here) but guess what he was literally defeated in less than half a chapter with one to two paragraphs explaining his cheat and that’s it.

If you thought that after that they at least wrapped up nicely then be prepared to be disappointed. It isn’t even clear what happened to the witch, only hinted that he was possibly killed by them. What happens to the three tribe's territory now that the witch is dead? What happens to Cha Zhe? What about Le Shui and Er Dai? And most importantly what about the lifespans difference between the MC and ML, they still haven’t found the lifespan increasing potion if it even exists. We don’t even see them get married let alone their life after marriage.

[collapse]

This is one of those novels where there should've been side stories to wrap everything up nicely and explain what happened after.

I'm still giving it 4/5 because I really enjoyed it till about Chapter 80 and I would still recommend to give it a try even tho the later chapters might not be as good. <<less

I loved this book. It was a great read if you like this type of genre and I’d recommend giving it a go.

My criticism would have to be that the pacing was definitely a bit off and it could have been fleshed out a bit more, especially the ending which seemed to be very rushed and ended abruptly but did have a happy ending.

Even though it had a topic I love, I couldn't enjoy reading it. It felt like the story wasn't being told but summarized instead. The connections between chapters were broken, and it felt like I had missed two chapters. Because of this, I'm stopping reading. I last stopped at around chapter 20.

It's a decent novel to read over the weekend; however, it is too shallow. The speed of the story is too rushed, and some situations are described as too utopian. I am giving it 4 stars, or rather 3, 5. Let's say that a short story appeals to me more than if the author continued to write mindlessly to a thousand chapters as some Chinese authors do.

This novel isn’t bad, but I was expecting more Infrastructure-building. In the end, it was more about clan-building, which is not so different, but also means there’s a lot more drama involved. I ended up not finishing the novel cause I could tell that the ending would be rushed and didn’t want to be disappointed LOL. My current opinion is that the novel is a good read if you’re interested in novels with “game elements” and “primitive/tribal” environments.

Theres is a focus in the romance here as well, though it’s admittedly... more>> a little clumsy (complete with the typical straight-guy!shou and the silent-and-stoic!gong.) I wish there was more details about the game elements and the infrastructure T.T as it is, I only got hints of that. Though that may also be the fault of the MTL. The TL quality is good but the MTL is only 65-70% readable. If I had to give this a rating now... I would give it somewhere between 3.12-3.3 out of 5 rating. Either way, it would be a 3-Star Novel for me. I’m not doing a full review because a large chunk of the story was read in MTL, and I can’t say for sure whether my impression is wrong based on misunderstandings T.T <<less

Overall, the novel is a decent read, although I have to say that the second half of the novel was incredibly rushed and so many things that could've been expanded were just abandoned.

Spoiler

The village building stopped a little over halfway through the book and was mostly skimmed through. Afterward, it was focused on dream training, exploring islands, and the ten thousand beast city (it's called something similar to that, I can't remember).

The food, item gathering, and even production of the red medicine were thrown to the wind and were vaguely mentioned every once in a while.

There was a potential ship with one of the Matai warriors and the boy from the evolution race that failed to evolve, but that was quickly forgotten and nothing was developed out of it.

Also, the big conflict that had been looming over their heads was solved in like a chapter or two, which is very disappointing as it felt that the author was impatient. There were a lot of points that were clearly rushed and the villain had like half a chapter of screen time. The build-up of the villain was all for naught as he seemed more like a minor villain than Cha Zhe, who seemed more like the big boss.

My favorite primitive BL novel! They actually treat the MC well! XD I enjoy the different races of people, the ability of the MC and the way he using it to integrate into the world, and I also like the Personalities of the MC, the ML, and all of the characters. Very good read! I am looking forward to more chapters!

I know this is the author's first book, but it left me wanting more, the end was very fast and there were many things pending, about the development of the tribe, if the MC would find something to extend his life, etc, although still I liked him.

The end was to be desired, but he was not angry because it ended like this, everything was calm.

The story's only begun, but I find it to be so cute and endearing!

The MC is a chef that happened to transmigrate into a primitive world. I normally don't like this kind of setting since all the stories I'd read before focused mainly on the protagonist's cooking. That all got boring after a while, so this story was rather refreshing to read.

The MC has some really cute interactions with the Matai and his relationship with the ML is really fluffy.

Spoiler

Their relationship proceeds at a steady pace and there's no magical "love at first sight" between them. The ML didn't realize he'd fallen in love at first and the MC is even more oblivious. They start becoming more intimate when the MC had to gain "favorability value" from "special characters" in order to upgrade his system (not sure if these terms are correct).

[collapse]

I read the raws up until chapter 25, and at this point the story gets a 4.6.

The translator is also doing an amazing job. They update super quickly and the work is of amazing quality. Thank you for your hard work, translator ^^ <<less

Just 4-4.5 stars since the ending is very ummm just like that it ended. There are also some plotholes and sometimes you may question the logic of some of the characters like for example there was this one character who got tortured to get some information about the MC, this guy is only an aquantance of the MC, they weren't that close, but instead of hatred, he was very grateful for the MC like WHAT, I know that after the torture you were barely alive because of the medicine the... more>> MC randomly gave you but whaaaaat like I don't understand... you were tortured because of a person you don't have much relationship with and guys, this character was almost killed but fortunately his heart was on the right so he survived.... ugh, anyways, yeah its still good to pass the time. <<less
