They do not have red mole "between eyebrows" like in many others novels with gers. So how they can tell this one is ger and this one is just young beautiful man? Later in novel there is sickly prince who look almost like a ger (but they still can tell he is man) and head of a trader family ger, who is not so good-looking, but they can tell he is a ger with one glance. So gers and men have drastically different appearance? I just can't imagine it. MC does not freak out with his new body (well except pregnancy), so I always assumed difference was not so big.

Qin guodan's end left a bitter taste for me.

He died protecting Li feng from the dark, even Li feng didn't know about his sacrifice which is just sad for me. Qin guodan actually idolized the MC and ml. He killed Mc's ex husband when he realized the ex wanted to 'reatliate' on MC for not helping the zhao family.

The ending for 3rd zhao (forgot the name) is super nice lols. At least in the end he realized his mistakes and he knew he had no face to show to the relatives he let down. Though he choose to became an alcoholic instead of doing something more worthwhile since his husband does not allow him to take the imperial exam.

Zhao Dong, goshhh I pity his ending of not getting married and having to live with his unbearable mother and crazy grandma zhao to ensure that his ger brother is safe. Its just sad.

I'd been looking forward to the possibility of Zhao Dahu showing up since they hinted that his body was never found, but he really only showed up at the end just to get killed by Qin Goudan? I expected that he would misunderstand MC, but to remark that the wine business should be the Zhao family's... hahahah surely he wasn't that delusional? It just felt like the entire family was written to be bad, except for the sixth uncle and only because he has lost everything else important to him. And really, MC can't come with better names as someone who has studied before?

And then, to delay that happily ever after moment even further, the author resurrects the first husband of the original owner's of that ger body. He never died and never divorced his ger spouse, so deal with that.

The MC is a highly educated gay man who grew up in a village and returned to live in his village after finishing number one university in China. His dad of course wanted him to marry and have a kid, but the man is a virg*n gay, so nope, no hope for that, but he still promised his dying dad that he would and his dad died without seeing his grandkids being born.

The MC has a spot on his hand which is his family's ancestral spiritual treasure. One day he was kowtowing at his dad's grave, broke skin on his head, touched the bloody spot with his hand and activated the treasure under that spot - a space with fertile land and a magical spring. So, he used that space even when he lived in modern day China, built a house in it, farmed fruits and vegetables, fish etc.

Then one day, on his dad's anniversary of passing, he got killed by a ray of lightning, he thought it was his dad's anger for not marrying and having kids.

He wakes up as a pregnant widowed ger in another world in ancient setting. He has a three years old ger child and another boy in his stomach. Of course, there are evil in- laws who want to take away his house and fields and an entire village of people whose sympathies and support he has to win if he wants to survive and prosper on this world.

Spoiler: the husband of that ger is not dead, just missing, but assumed dead. He comes back later, also behaving like an evil in-law (well, very patriarchal and filial to a fault) wishing to take everything away from his now prosperous and happy spouse and give it to his mom, the old family matriarch, to manage.

The entire novel is driven not so much by love (romantic or parental) and caring (motherhood/fatherhood) or even by the rags to riches plot but by envy and schadenfreude of the villagers and family members on both the MC's and the ML's side. These are two basic feelings or emotions that drive all of the events on this story: people being envious of people and people enjoying another human being's suffering.

If pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune is something you find interesting to read about, then go ahead and read this novel. There are very few of the pleasures of another kind in it.

It is not really about romantic love or family love or love of one's business or career. The author simply likes to write about envy, gossip, and how others do not like to see a person next to them to succeed even a little bit, but enjoy enormously another person's failures, humiliation and pain. She describes people en masse as bad with lowly and evil basic motivations. Who would want to live in such a world, even if imaginary? Not me.

I like the fourth fanwai (extra) that tells what happened to Zhao PingChuan, explaining what really happened to him. I know I shouldn't feel sorry for him, but I understand that sometimes life doesn't go the way we expect, even though we've worked hard.

Because he's disappointed and embarrassed that he's drunk himself to forget everything.

He's just an ambitious and selfish person but I don't think he's a trully bad person.

I'm really happy with Zhao Dong improvement, He is getting better and more mature. He takes a responsible to takes care of his younger brother Zhao Mei, I only hope for the best for them

and for the last fanwai this is the best so that it makes me satisfied after finishing this story, telling what happened to Qin Gou Dan, I'm personally quite curious about this kid, he's a good kid but was born into such a broken family... at least he has the courage to choose his own path...

in the last fanwai it was told that he killed Peng Dashan who used to be Zhao Dahu, honestly I don't understand Zhao Dahu, is he a victim of his mother's brainwashing? until he died he didn't feel guilty and instead defended his family... I know this is just a fictitious story but sometimes there are many manipulative people like Zhao Ama who like to manipulate their children or people around them to do what they want...
