Evil and Neutral grey-moral Protagonists! >:)
Characters who have self-serving personalities or tendencies, and may or may not show it in interactions, actions, emotions, intent, and thoughts. Or just that the character has a willingness to do things that aren't compatible with our modern and diverse views regarding morals, ethics, principles, and ideals of good. Of course these books have different tones and also handling of this subject.
The list was created with much subjectivity, as I won't put protagonists whose good qualities overshadows all their impactful grey actions and evil actions, which is important to me regardless of whether they are truly good or evil. -> Different examples of who I won't include are Song Shuhang (kindness), Klein Moretti (principles and heroic actions), Kim Dokja (altruism), and Chen Ge (goodwill and generosity).
Work in progress. Of course I have read these, I will simply state if I did not. Most are good novels but I will add some non-favorites, which is purely my opinion because I have a personal standard of quality.

@Subline Act Due to his past dark experiences, he chose to just take advantage of his knowledge and capabilities, and use that to live peacefully and not dabble in serious problems anymore. sh*t happens but he doesn't let that beat his desires. His character is pretty strong, his actions crazy, the supporting cast are lovely, and the twists are many.
I doubt this list after seeing this "Otome Game is Tough" novel. First of all MC of the novel not selfish at all. He is full of bullsh*t, while saying he doesn't care at all about something, he actually save them all. He says: "I don't care about people of this Kingdom" and after few chapters he says: "If I do nothing then 10 million of people of this Kingdom will die". And you know what, no one among those 10 million can't suffer even after the war, cause the war just include those shitty nobles, whom MC stepped by on head and greatly humiliated whenever there are a chance. This novel is full of such contradictory bullsh*ts with kind MC.
So i don't trust this list. Recheck your list or just delete. No need to mislead readers!
