Invisible Dragon is one of the most unique stories on NovelUpdates. Its generic in the sense that it doesn't step away from shonen-esque tropes, but the style of the writing gives it the feel of a parody, and it parodies the mindless action genre incredibly well. The worldbuilding of Invisible Dragon is simple, because the world itself is not the focus of the novel, unlike many cultivation novels, power is not found through miracle herbs in the ground or ancient legacies, but from within oneself and the history of the person. In this sense, the worldbuilding does exactly what it is meant to do: criticize those novels for their shallowness in developing a world so essential for their story.

It can't be said that the world is built well. But it is precisely because the world is not built well that the story parodies so well.

Characters 5/5:

The characters in Invisible Dragon are practically perfect for their usage. The dialogues between characters are so frank that it is incredible how complex they can be. For example, Colbob, the greatest supreme entity, is a cavalier figure, but we aren't just told he is some "free unrestrained immortal", but we exprience it through his actions. To his very end, his character is consistent, complex, and developing, as he explores who he is and why he exists. Furthermore, his end hallmarks his own weaknesses, as he is undone by a fatal flaw, rather than external force of nature/god/plotarmor. There is a similar story for invisible dragon and for duike, both of which are thrust into conflict not by plot contrivance, but by a natural conflict of character. This conflict highlights one of the most futile aspects of human society, that man simply cannot coexist with all of his fellows, and that natural conflict really adds depth to Invisible Dragon. Furthermore, there is the exploration of choice and free will through Shang-a, who is burdened by her desires conflicting with not only her rationality, but also each other.

Story Development 5/5:

Invisible Dragon is a character-driven story, but because the characters are so incredible, the story ends up being so as well. Fights were kept to the absolute essentials, but still managed to be exciting. The story continuously develops through every chapter, not muddling through side-arcs but fully focused on reaching the incredible resolution of the series.

Enjoyment 5/5:

Its not often you get to read a hallmark of good literature, and less often that such is in the form of parody. This series in incredibly enjoyable, and great to re-read as well.

I recommend Invisible Dragon to anybody who has read a YY novel, or plans to, because it is an incredible journey that cannot be understated how amazing it is. <<less

Every recommendation list for godly novels includes the 투명드래곤 (invisible dragon.) Known as the Issac Newton of literature, let me introduce you guys how this excellent novel was published.

The author of this book was, at that age, in fact an elementary student. Truly magnificent, such a young age, brilliant in fact.

The web novel was published into a book quite recently. The author (now an adult) came up to stage and said with a sober face. "...I never should have written the book. What the hell was I thinking?"

The greatest masterpiece I have most probably ever read. It's got everything required for a perfect novel. Even under pressure the author was able to bring such an epic story. I'm moved to tears. The grammar and writing was excellent. There were certain moments I had to reread certain parts to understand the profoundness of the text.

The Main character. The MC in this novel is too wonderful, maybe too complex. You'll shed tears when you reach the chapter/chapters where you'll learn his past. The World Building was also amazing. Universe could only become a unit for measurement. Also the ending of the novel was truly wonderful. Unlike some other novels that have bad endings, this one had the perfect ending. In fact the ending was so big that everything was written to the very last detail. No one can deny how big the ending is (the last chapter is probably larger than the remaining 49 chapters combined).

Rating this novel is almost impossible. The limit is 5 which is only 1/100000000000000000000000000000000000000000 of the rating this novel deserves. <<less

I suggest you don't waste your time on this series.... reading it made me feel my braincells dying.... the 'chapters' are sentences to a paragraph if even that and its riddled with 'intentional' mistakes....... not to mention there is no story no real plot its just mindless drivel.....

This is an ode to the human mind's ability to adapt and make sense of the worst of spelling and grammar. I must say, I first started reading web novels in 2014 and was starved for some new crap after things started picking up 2015 in the novel translating arena. 2016 I stumble across this crap with very few reviews.

For those you who don't know this novel is one of the biggest trolls in Korea. The author was in elementary school when he wrote this and extremely regrets ever writing it all those years ago. It is now even published.

It is an old fossil people use to torture others and that is why I gave it five stars. Everyone knows it's horrible. The author is in tears over this monstrosity. The readers know. The publishers know.

But that's not the point.

It represents the epitome of intelligence in making people cringe and gauge their eyes out. It is a parody that wasn't intended to be a parody but now is a parody because it can't be anything else besides a parody.

This is not a novel for the faint of heart. I am crying right now as I write this review. This is a classic that should only be read after reading coiling dragon, I shall seal the Heavens, Stellar transformations, Tales of Demons and Gods, or a cultivation novel of similar proportions. Plot - 9/10 - A strong plot with a definitive purpose you can feel due to the novel only being 50 chapters.

Character - 10/10 - Every character is fleshed out perfectly acts as a satire to traditional cultivation... more>> novels.

Translation Quality - 10/10 - This was most likely incredibly difficult to translate due to the unorthodox spelling of words in the original novel.

World - 7/10 - The worlds could have been fleshed out slightly better, but it does not detract from the main plot. The background merely stays a background, not influencing decisions of characters and not providing for more strategic combat. The reason this is so high is because there wasn't any real opportunity to create a stunning background in such a short story.

Personal Enjoyment - 9/10 - I cried at the end and while my tears dried up while writing this review, the feeling will most likely stay for a couple of weeks at the least. <<less

For me a story's real worth is how it was ended. A beautifully written beginning but a shitty ending will make it a shitty story. A shitty written story but a beautiful ending will make it a beautiful story. Just like life.

Invisible Dragon is beautiful. A true and unadulterated representation of the world, human nature and the joys and sorrows within. But every good story needs a good author, so let's start off with that. Duichidak is clearly a free spirit who feels great pleasure from writing his magnum opus. Not unmotivated by harsh comments during his earlier chapters, he perseveres, just like Walt Disney when he got fired by a newspaper editor for 'lacking imagination'. If we were to take a look at the plot, by itself, we would find a tale of comradeship, love, comedy and tragedy. It's as if a piece of life has been carved out and placed into text format. The character interactions are natural as if they are real people. Character development goes from 0-60 in a reasonable time. The lack of descriptions is clearly a method employed by the author to allow the reader to visualise the worlds within the story. And finally, the grammar. The grammar within this story is so famous that it has been named as the representative of the seven forbidden texts. The text is clearly forbidden because of the great joy and satisfaction it brings to everyone's lives. The author is an experimentalist, at the forefront of the avant-garde in regards to grammar. Despite these unfamiliar ideas, it has been perfectly crafted to allow the reader to read smoothly and without hesitation. Absolute genius.
