This list introduces the various popular/common/cliche tropes and genres of the translated novels community. I just want to point out the fact that this list is supposed to cover a wide range of genres and audiences. It doesn't cover everything, but I think most of them are here. I enjoyed these, and I think it's a good place to start reading from. (I tried to have novels for both male/female preferences). While some of these novels may be long, that does not mean you have to finish the entire thing -_- , if you enjoy it, good, keep on reading! If you don't enjoy it, then stop, no one's forcing you to continue.

The list is in no particular order, although I did try to put them into categories ... that kinda worked, ish. Some of these novels are officially licensed, so you may have to get the rest of the chapters from other sources (Google and *cough* aggregate websites *cough*).

Ranking based on:

Plot- Whether plot makes sense, and foreshadowing is given closure. All around just entertaining, and doesn't feel like a chore to read.

Characters- If the characters are fu cking tr*sh, the novel is tr*sh, 'nough said.

Translation quality- Many idioms in chinese novels tend to fly over people's head. And if the translator doesn't have an apt website, I will also find it a hassle to read. <<less

LGBT characters and queer novels are often subjected to being fetishised by both the author and the fandom. There are sadly few books written by LGBT authors, FGEP is thankfully one of them (and you notice the difference!). The books on this list are not perfect, but that is impossible, anyway. But, I can wholeheartedly say, that they have good representation and are portrayed in a healthy, respectful way, most of the time  (which can't be said for a lot of other novels).

Last but not least:
As much as I love MXTX's novels, her first two novels especially are full of cliches and over-used tropes, while the story still remains good. An actual human being isn't defined by their preferred position during s*x - you are allowed to switch it up! I swear, Luo Binghe and Hua Cheng want to be topped so bad, I don't get why the fandom tries so hard to restrict them. Build an opinion for yourself and tread carefully - the s*x scenes are often... unusual, to say the least.  <<less
