Like seriously the mc is so smart he has to be dumbed down so the plot gets moving and his character settings keeps changing to the point where it feels like he's a transmigrator in the body of the og host fulfilling the plot points by being s*upid af. Drinking but forgetting everything the next day? So cliché. Suddenly addicted to playing cards?? Oh because he was like that in college too. It was actually nice that mc's gene is unique but it doesn't get any explanations or credit because the plot could be about the bloodline of mc and his ancestors and him rising on the ranks yada-yada, the potential of mc's genes was so great hayst but wasted. I know it's all about the relationship of mc and ml but damn too long winding that it becomes annoying because of the pushing and pulling or just plain pulling and barely any pushing. I was so frustrated at their s*upid asses, when reading I thought this next paragraph can't be s*upid as the last one but NOPE it's more s*upid. Like goddamn why is ml making his subordinate a walking Google??? Boi look it up yourself WTF hayyysssst. I hate that subordinate too, like I know u friends with the ml but he's your superior??? And not like you're best friends??? Maybe they are but their relationship is really annoying no f*cking respect and it depended on that subordinate whether the relationship of ml and mc progresses, he's a giant third wheel for f*cks sake. MC has no self-awareness as a MARSHAL'S WIFE like even a little, his brain is turned off when something happens to him (I know he doesn't think he's important but he should still be aware of his position?? Damn ml can't even say any reassurance or become mc's sense of security sooner. Ml knows he can't disclose information but can't he warn mc properly? Like 'its dangerous to go out without a bodyguard, I can't tell you why but please trust me' 'you need to have your phone at all times, I can't be sure nothing will happen to you if you don't') and mc's brain turns on analysing this and that, even the analysing the psychology of the kidnapper/s when he's already kidnapped.... I grit my teeth reading it like so so so much. Mc's colleagues too, they have no ounce of restraint when gossiping... Damn... All I keep reading on and on is their gossiping. The slander at the beginning too it was unending and too much and then it was suddenly gone, like no face slapping to those brainless people? Just a few passing mention of the ml and it's gone? Psh. Ml's and mc's EQ and IQ is occasional 0 a big fat 0. And mc's friends... Something happened to him in the past and friggin disappears for days... Yet none of them knows?????? He's suddenly in a hospital??? And if mc says he's OK then nothing really happened??? Fake friends. Bruh when mc's intuition was sending alert signals he suddenly ignores it when someone texts him the place wasn't cleaned up yet wtf but didn't call after that text only calling when he gets to the place and everything is clean, he didn't even call other people to verify KNOWING his intuition was alerting him so much earlier in that same place. Hayst let's not talk about verifying other stuff too because I skipped on those parts lest I get so pissed. I didn't even feel sorry for the mc when the past got revealed and his 'attitude towards ml is explained' why only ml?? Why not all alphas huh? That is more reasonable it's not like the ml did it but why only towards ml? Because he's someone with a purpose to 'mark' mc like what the abuser did? Like hell Negative EQ ml was nothing but nice although he was not learning to be considerate enough. Ml can't even get a rest day like why? There is no war why are you busy? With what that rebel or whatever that he can't catch?? Oh he's just busy here and there can't tell mc because he can't. Bro is a Marshall, can banish mc's s*upid ex someplace but can't have a day off.

I don't remember how i got to ch 50 and to realize how dumb it was getting and every chapter from then on is due to my willpower. I have so much frustration for this novel that I need the comfort of my QT novels. Bye. <<less

If I had read this before #33 here I would be angry but I think I would only be a little angry because it's not as stressful to read as #33 and very easy to read and understand. The mc is smart and was not dumbed down, ml may lack EQ but at least he kept trying to learn continuously on his own or he was provided materials. His subordinates were actually very useful and has TACT which I so love. And mc knows how to PROTECT HIMSELF (altho he was beaten up by ml to teach him). The netizens were actually supportive unlike the other one. <<less

I enjoyed this novel very much but I was reading this on a single braincell therefore my reading comprehension was very low as I struggled to connect one sentence to the next. The love between the two came slowly but bittersweet and I gained extra few braincells from their constant flirtations and even my way of writing has become impeccably different from before, very unnerving if I do say so myself. I love the story though, very gripping to my nerves as I read one chapter after another.

There is one funny thing that keeps happening and that is Shen's real name, is it: Buci, Buyi, Buqi?  <<less

MC is like the purest soul ever, so precious and heartbreaking, he's the type of person everyone wants to protect but to those who's evil will hurt him and MC will stay as he is, as pure and kind. ML on the other hand has so many faces but internally he says he's corrupt and all kinds of evil but he's just broken inside, all he wanted was his parents love and attention but they never gave it to him wholeheartedly. 

Let's talk about ML's parents (cracks knuckles) I have a lot to say about them. Good people, bad parents. Compensating your son with everything, DOES NOT equal to him giving back the love he never received. Compensation does not equal love. When the parents look at ML, all they see is a distant boy who didn't love their parents, thinking that they tried to mend the relationship but mending it by having another son when they can't treat the first properly? A gap of 14 years (between the kids) says a lot. The ML wanted his parents and they gave him a baby brother that they will treat better than ML, it hurts to read these parts.

Believe me I like the baby brother but it just didn't sit right with me how the parents were so enthusiastic to the baby bro like its their first child (coz they couldn't do that with their real first kid) and eventually kept on forgetting the existence of their first kid and they keep wanting ML to love them? For that treatment? That's harsh. They never changed, in the novels I've read before there was reconciliation of familial relationship but in this novel that never happened, it showed in the chapters that it'll never happen. No matter how much the parents try they could never have their son back it's also because their 'try' is not actually trying anything. The father is so disappointing, he is so happy playing with his 2nd son and when he sees the first son, he looks bad like it wasn't him who didn't spend time with the first son PROPERLY and being treated distantly is the only wrong. The mother was like, 'oh I don't know what to say to him' 'oh no i forgot about him' 'I should make my first son like the second son while treating the first son like air and spoiling the second son, that'll make my first son forgive me' 

I hated the parents with a passion, PASSION. <<less
