It's a really simple plot but the the way the story is written makes me feel things. ML does have a reason for acting the way he does (though he's still an ass). It's all about misunderstandings, one that lasted a decade. Shi Wen just loved too much and sacrificed his entire life and self-worth for this ML. I really can't imagine ever being in that situation... I really like how the story is written. MC and ML weren't unlikeable but... I definitely wasn't fond of them in the beginning. It makes sense though since they are both going through the worst times of their lives so we are getting to know them at their worst. This is why the first flashback (also the longest one) is so important since you notice there is a big difference in their personality! There are big chunks of the past delivered by the author from time to time. 

This is basically a story where MC is an ambitious drummer wanting to chase after his dreams but he has a bad judge of character which led to his ruin. Then the ML who longs for MC so strongly but couldn't prevent his death and lives in a never-ending nightmare. I think I would prefer it if ML's side of the story is more fleshed out (or if I saw more drumming cough cough) but it's fine. [4/6/22 - 6/6/22] <<less

The story weaves past and present to show the difference between the passionate love between MC and ML during their teenage years versus ML's current a**holeness. MC can't break away from him because of his long love for him that has become engraved in his bones, his lack of friends or family to lean on, and his financial situation. Fortunately, ML2 aka his doctor shows him a lot of care and loves him to bits. In this story, it's tragedy after tragedy for everyone really. It's sad to read about it. Some readers don't like ML2's actions towards the end but I think it was justified (Haven't read the novel though so might have a different opinion ltr). Recommend if you want PAIN! The beginning was good but from the middle to the end it felt rushed and a little weird... Like, side characters would get introduced but then... they aren't used. Or they would suddenly be introduced and seem really important??? But I go "who the heck are you". I was left with a number of questions in the end including the worldbuilding or the basic "what creature is ML?". I still don't know! The whole MC being an actor thing didn't seem that important either by the end haha. It's like author got into different genres while writing this thing so it feels like a mish mash.
