Xie Lian is a righteous man with an unshakeable sense of duty and morality. He wants to save the world but his path of heroism led him to a historic fall from grace. Was this just the case of a Prince turned God with unparalleled bad luck or something more? Xie Lian is too good in an almost frustrating way. The type to help others to his own detriment and dig his own grave. A lot of his choices are questionable but his heart is in the right place. Luckily Hua Cheng ,ML, was always waiting in the shadows and became the only one who never turned his back or gave up on him. Hua Cheng truly devoted his entire life to a one sided love ,which borders on obsessional, and jumped head first into the darkness for the sake of protecting said beloved. Their relationship grew from a place of gratitude and admiration to a strong bond beyond friendship.

The romance here is ambiguous 80 percent of the time but watching the slow build-up and how their fates intertwine is beautiful. It is worth reading. The plot and characters are intricate and engaging . I loved it

 A wholesome gem! It made me take a second look at modern and slice of life genres. I really wanted more!!

Yu she and Zhong Wan are the definition of shameless and the amount of second hand embarrassment these two stir up is amusing. Two petty but lovable clowns in truth. They flirt in the most funny ways and in inappropriate places at that. They play games and the chase is fun to watch. All jokes aside, they are both innocent on the inside but pretend to be lascivious and paint themselves black.

Zhong Wan and Yu She are both reckless, stubborn and unbalanced to a degree. They both have trauma they have yet to deal with and are dangerous when pushed to the edge. They have no qualms with hurting themselves or value their lives per se. I feel like their relationship with each other is kind of an escape/distraction but hopefully a source of healing as well. I like the contrast of the characters. They are both hurt individuals. One hides it with a smile and perseveres for the sake of others. The other has resigned to despair and lost faith in humanity

Palace politics never disappoint with the cold blooded and messed up family drama all in the name of power struggles. The selling point here is the comedy and awesome sense of humour mixed in.I f you are not into historicals at least give this a try for that reason alone. This is romantic but in a messed up or uncomfortable way at times if critically analysed too deeply(s*ave contracts etc). It is not perfect but it is truly a funny and unique read.

 Romance was treated as a side to the growth of the mc's rise to power and I wasn't that into it when it started blossoming funnily. I did like watching the growth of a smart complicated morally grey Mc's ambitious pursuits who was good at heart but not naive. As a romance novel this might kind of fail ine the eyes of some but still an enjoyable read if you like weak to strong tropes

The entertainment industry setting became the double edged sword that brought together and slowly tore apart our movie emperor and writer. We get to see the good and bad  behind the scenes of that world too. This story may frustrate you precisely because  of the bubbling feelings and miscommunication shadowing the relationship. There are definitely heart- warming and spicy(not many) moments along the way.

What I loved about it was that i could totally imagine a real life couple going through something like this. It is a Happy Ending btw.(P.S the side couple was a bit dodge and went left for me but gladly the mess was not explored in the main story)

Beyond the gaming bits it somewhat tackles the culture and politics of the industry. The actual Gameplay and mechanics were not particularly complicated or groundbreaking. In fact the matches often felt repetitive and the strategies limited(i.e no major surprises). The netizen/fan culture trope and spraying gag might have been over kill but made sense in setting up the stakes. It felt melodramatic at times but it added to the idea of being a professional player and mental stress of it all.The lead up to the championship, games and rivalries in general were kind of tedious and repetitive to a degree.

The true focus here was the the relationships of the teams and players behind the scenes. 

This is a story centered around friendship, comraderie and perserverance. The intergration of romance in the midst of everything was lovely. The MC and the ML go through a rollercoaster that starts of a little angsty and grows progressively sappy and sweet. It really epitomizes the joys of young love and the pacing suits that. The dynamic between them is refreshing and age appropriate. They are good guys who care about each other. They are by definition hot,respectful,not overbearing or cold but thoughtful and caring and reliable. Consent and respect were good to see.

 I was personally more invested towards the beginning. The misunderstandings were a bit flimsy to me but it was fun to witness the fluffiest of fluff. The overall story was nice.

I personally did not totally buy into the romance and felt it was a leap. It gave me I'm not gay but i like you undertones for the MC and extreme possessiveness on the ML's side. The interactions were weird to me and sometimes uncomfortable. If you are into some smut then you might like that aspect but for me it was skirting on the problematic side.The highlight for me wasn't the relationship per se ...it was mason's character and his development as an actor. His rise in the entertainment industry truly drew me in. The acting scenes were truly great and I loved that aspect so much. 

This is pretty well written and for that reason i didn't have the heart to score it any lower even with the problematic stuff and stereotypes. I did enjoy reading it after all.

Never thought I would read anything related to musical theater or dubbing but here we are. Don't know much in this arena but I didn't surprisingly lose interest. The pacing is slow and requires some patience. It really fleshed out this world and mc's motivations and dreams. The build up is long and you have to wait a while before stories converge to the present when they actually get together. The major theme here is about pursuing your dreams and romance on the side. As sweet as this story of perseverance may be I wasn't invested in the main CP wholeheartedly. They spent most of the novel apart but I don't mind that so much.

What I couldn't get passed was  the age gap and whole mentor mentee or fan idol dynamic.It tried to skirt around the fact that they started talking when the Mc was a minor in highschool but nothing happened at the time at least.ML kept reiterating the child thing even when they were older. Whether jokingly or in a teasing manner it created a distance mentally for me. You should not have to parent your partner or look at them like a child and the language didn't help ( ml refers to him as boy, child etc which broke suspense of disbelief) I couldn't make the leap of their relationship crossing over into romance (but that's my own hang up-its not too bad considering the other bls out there) I wish they hadn't met when mc was still a minor as it framed the way I looked at their relationship. It was always at the back of my mind but don't let that stop you as its not as bad as it sounds. A 7 year or more age gap is the norm in bl so it might be my own prejudice. In my mind how could they be truly equal partners but there are always exceptions.

I love that the female characters are not vile and the author really captures the musings of a teenage crush and other stages of love and relationships. It is really cute and warm from the beginning to the end. The bubbling fears and feelings are so relatable. There is no major villain and you can't help rooting for all the characters.

Read this if you have time and patience to digest the whole story and not count on being fed romance or fluff every chapter. Sometimes we should just enjoy the story and the sweetness of it all. There is a pure quality to this.

The MC suffers from a life-time of trauma and is a misunderstood social reject. He is not a good person but aims to be one, which is nice for a change. The point is MC is not irredeemable. I guess this is a redemption story  for an imperfect human who tries to be better. The phrase hurt people hurt people comes to mind. His past is sad but that does not condone his actions in past relationships in my eyes( deeply disturbing)  When he meets the fun loving ex-Yakuza ML his world and heart opens up. They feel like real people and their relationship progresses realistically. All the characters are flawed in some way but their desire to live differently and work towards a better path is heart-warming. 

A Pretty good story overall. It is not very fluffy or cutesy but still sweet. It is mature and kind of mellow. Truly a story of growth and changing for love. Honestly it's short, sweet and hits the right points for a short story. I have no regrets reading this. Is it perfect... no, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Don't be deterred by bad reviews. This isn't bad, but just silly and humorous. Read this for some chuckles and light heartedness. I will say the confession, jealousy, moments together and misunderstanding were lowkey underwhelming and  didn't give me butterflies or the sense of overall satisfaction I was looking for. It's cute sometimes though. The logic for character motivations and actions was flawed. This is a warning that the MC is kind of ignorant/childlike in a way that made no sense unless he was on the spectrum. Could someone truly be that naive, forgetful and indifferent when bad things happen? Is it all a joke?

This novel is s*upid but I guess that's it's charm. It goes beyond bl logic and is  ridiculous but I still kept reading haha. This is a fun and random read not be taken seriously and it really wasn't a chore to read. Worth a read.

I enjoyed reading about introverted Lin Mo's ordinary life, loving family dynamic and simple work. It was calm and not as boring as one would think.  What I found interesting was how the world looked at gender. There are men , women and Ger. Our MC is part of this third gender of effeminate males  who can give birth (this is neither good or bad but different).There was an Mpreg tag but no actual pregnancy( I was uneasy at first but curious because I've never read the genre so a bit disappointed it wasn't explored). When it came to entangling with the ML that was smooth, expected and cute at first. The ML is stoic, gentle  and reticent and suffers from amnesia but changes a bit  when he regains his memories. The  relationship dynamic kind of works. After the first confession the relationship went 0 to 100 and so did the rest of the story.

It looked like a simple and uncomplicated story but got progressively weirder. The author was truly ambitious with the plot twists and genre mixing. This has its's charm but you either love it or hate it. There are few giant leaps in the plot you are expected to fill. In the end a lot is left unsaid and unresolved.

 I was in the mood for the crazy and don't regret reading it. I didn't hate it. I kept reading for the mere fact that it was so strange. A fun read not to be taken too seriously.
