Loved it. The romance and plot going on the background were equally entertaining, the balance which I find lacking often in many other. The story was entertaining throughout the length not having any dull moment.

Though I wanted to see more of the two, it made sense to the end and not becoming boring due to unnecessary stretch. Though the stock market plot did go a little above my head at first cuz I am not familiar but got a grasp as the story progressed. Also it was nice how they... more>> highlighted the stock manipulation and retail investors being scr*pe goats for bigger ones, which is happing in today’s world where so many are loosing hard earned money.

The schemer zhang was the best, the ultimate boss becoming a puppy for his wife, wagging his tail whenever he saw Jiang, who was the ultimate power bottom. <<less

I absolutely absolutely love this. Both MC and ML are supportive of each other despite the tricky circumstances and even the complexity of prison life was well illustrated.

It was funny, sweet and a wholesome mess and I was all for it.a

10/10 would re-read

Plus, both the ML and MC are two kinky lovebirds.

A voyeur × voyeur type thing.

Officer× Prisoner Play was the most memorable scene for me.

This is how a romance story should be written.

Exciting, flirty, and filled with tension. I love how descriptive the prose was, and how you can see every vivid imagery the author wants you to see. This is also in part due to the translator, who's amazing at their job. I'm wondering if they've been professionally trained before?

Characters are complex, and their banter has so much chemistry. I couldn't get enough of their interactions.

Gonna be a while before I find another danmei as well-rounded as this one.

I really enjoyed this novel after not being able to finish anything in the past few weeks. The characters and the plot are great, especially Zheng Mingyi (ML). He was my favorite part of this novel. Even if everything else would have been bad. I’d still read it for him ;)

If you like s*xual tension that is going through the roof pretty much from the beginning and don’t mind the couple being a little kinky, I have the perfect novel for you. While I would consider this a romance... more>> driven story, this still doesn’t undermine the good plot.

Additionally, the translation is absolutely amazing; super smooth and enjoyable to read. I’m sure if I had read this novel with MTL a lot of flavor would have been lost. So thank you luckykoi for translating this amazing novel! <<less

First, MC's hobby isn't too bad at all. He's just being nosy to other people's affair, but it's different with the ML that really caught his "interests'.

Second, MC and ML's made in heaven, they are both smart, sweet, funny and PERVERT! Lmao. I love their relationship and their tacit understanding most of the time. They are very much open about almost everything.

The story is simple actually, no angst or too complicated plots. It has a good amount of fluff and sweetness. There's no smut by the way. Lol.

Unpopular opinion, but... more>> I love the side CP's especially XS and Princess, lol. And the plot twist in YG and LH's relationship. Ahahah!

Overall, this is highly recommended. Hope you'll be able to get pass the tag about MC's hobby because this one is really good. <<less

HEEHEEEHEEE OH LAWD THIS ONES GOOD!!!

The story introduces our protagonist shou, Jiang Chijing, a 27 year old man who has the hobby of voyeurism.

Observing, watching, and analyzing is his uncontrollable pastime, however, upon hearing the powerful punches coming from his neighbor initially deemed "boring office worker" living across from him, Jiang Chijing's hobby becomes uncontrollable.

... more>> In a series of, perhaps one may say, fortunate Unfortunate events, Jiang Chijing's neighbor whom hes spied on is sent as an inmate to the prison he works at.

And thus, the teasing push and pull between warden Jiang Chijing and inmate Zheng Mingyi begins.

First off, the character's personalities are well fleshed out and the way the author slowly showed their complexities as the story progressed is entertaining.

Jiang Chijing has had a very successful life and is content with the comfort he currently possess. He values independence and has strong principles (aside from his hobby pfft). Of course, considering the rules he follows, it is no wonder he loses his calm when faced with unabashed teasing.

As for Zheng Mingyi? Panties instantly dropped LMAO. He's like an enigma but as we explore with Chijing, Mingyi isn't that difficult to understand. I liken him to a slumbering, indifferent beast: Can fck you up but chooses not to.

Also, one major aspect that stands out from the both of them?

They're very le*d lol.

Overall, in the emotional line, both has more than what meets the eye and the reader also has the enjoyment of "voyeurism" when watching the two protagonists strip and unveil each other's personalities.

As for the plotline, it's not too complicated to understand and is not too heavily focused on. I'd say it's just the right amount of support for the main emotional line. Also, I'd like to say that the side character's stories also gave an interesting outlook for prison life.

All in all, very entertaining and simple read. I loved it so much, I don't know how many times I've flopped like a fish in bed squawking and squealing from Zheng Mingyi's flirting. That man is one handsome devil, lawd.

I guess my only complaint is the lack of meat. Yes, yes, yes, a story doesn't need smut to be a great story but CMON! The tension between these two were blazing!!! How could I not wish for more instead of the oatmeal and milk analogy huh!?

Last but not least, thank you translator for bringing this story to us! Also do follow the translator's guide to purchase the author's story!

Excellent read with a fantastic translation that was difficult to put down.

Definitely interested in this translator's works in the future.

The story was a very good length. Had significant detail, ups-and-downs, excellent character and relationship progression, all packed tightly within 66 chapters, but felt like much longer.

Love that the MC and ML give it as good as they got, a slightly antagonistic, snarky relationship that's one of my favorite types. UST through the roof as well. Strong MC and ML.

Very good read and highly recommend.

This is so good! So good that I didn't sleep just to read this... so good that I didn't realize that I caught up with the most recent updated and I was like "eh?... eh?!!!"

Waaaaaa I wish there was more!

This novel BROKE MY HEART.

First off, strong praise to how fleshed out the characters are, even if they are a side character. They are each multi-faceted and the relationships between them stand on its own.

Was going to give 3 stars but I considered the rare chemistry and equality so hard to find in danmei. I had my reservations about the plot in the beginning; such as the author writing an inaccurate explanation of dyslexia into the story, and the personality test, however the stock bits mentioned were explained decently.

Now onto... more>> my personal lament.

Seriously, the s*xual tension was phenomenal. The entirety of the story was building it up from chapter 1. Only to crash heavy rocks onto some reader's feet when they actually got to banging, which was summarised within 3~ sentences.

Can you believe that. I guess I need to swallow this hard pill called life.

Now, off to mourn for an eternity I never got to read the smut in the author's writing style. <<less

I was trying to get out of my reading slump caused by a particular novel and came across this novel while looking for something to entertain me. I was not convinced at first and thought that since this novel is quite short, even if I ended up not liking this, it wouldn't take too much time. I was totally not expecting to pick up a gem!

Honestly, the only downside of this is that it was too short for me!! Though plot-wise, this has a perfect length, not too... more>> condensed and not too dragging either. But because I loved this so much and I want to read more of the MC and ML, 66 chapters are definitely not enough.

What I loved the most about this is the relationship between Jiang Chijing (MC) and Zheng Mingyi (ML). Among the countless BL couples that I've read, they're definitely included on the top of the list that has a great chemistry. The s*xual tension between them is almost tangible, it was making me sweat. Their bickering and flirting really made my mouth ached from grinning so much. They're also both have wild and filthy mind, so imagine their s*x life. They're so enjoyable to read that I didn't even realized I already reached the end of the novel. That's why I thought it was too short for me!!

I also loved Zheng Mingyi's sexy brain!! Jiang Jiang is definitely not s*upid but when he's having a verbal sparring with his man, his brain was turning into paste and according to him, he really needed to spend too much brain cells. It's so funny when they're having two different conversations at the same time. Reading their antics brought me so much happiness and satisfaction!!

Seriously, please read this one. It has mature topics but this is not particularly dark theme. Be ready for their palpable chemistry that you will definitely love. I highly recommend this amazing novel to everyone! <<less

Very unique. I can count in one hand the number of prison stories I've read, including mangas. If you have reservations because of potential bloody and gritty jail scenarios, it's not too graphic. Plot is straightforward so if you're looking for a light-ish read, this is perfect to binge on a weekend.

Characters - 9

One is a recovering voyeur with a big heart, another is a macho dyslexic genius. Side characters, while not too fleshed out, are given enough background info and personalities to go on.

Dialogue - 10

IMO the best part of this novel and I'd give it more than 10 if I could. There's no misunderstanding between our leads because, hello, open communication. Their witty banter, flirting and dirty talk is just *chef's kiss*. Wait till you get to their role playing scenes!

Woah! Just woah!

The playful flirting, teasing, s*xual tension between Jiang Jiang and Zheng Zheng was off the charts. My cheeks hurts from smiling all the time. I'm very thankful for the masks, so my workmates wouldnt think I'm crazy from smiling so much. In my defense, both main characters were just so cute.

Anyway if you like bickering couples or couples with an equal standing in a relationship, then this novel is for you. It's a rare novel where the uke wasnt feminized and each had their own strengths. It' s... more>> a light read without angst and mainly focused on relationship between them. Oh, by the way, the novel also showcased how complicated humans really are, with all their biases, individual moral sense, compromise and etc.

Anyway, if you liked the couples in faraway wanderers and peerless, then you wouldnt go wrong in reading this. <<less

I’ve always been a fan of passionate romance novels but sadly BLs either have normal or fluffy cute romance most of the time. Passionate romance with s*xual tension so high that it’s literally palpable, are the minority. So i’m really happy to have found this one!

This was more romance based than plot based. Tho I would have loved more character development and more pull and push between the leads but damnnnnn the romance is just soooo goood. The s*xual tension is sooo high that you just want to push them... more>> like just kiss already! I was always screaming hot damnnn whenever their gazes crossed and whenever they interacted! We need more novels like this please! I love how the MC didn’t conform to any typical BL uke norms but was really unique cool, handsome and strong dude who knew how to fight and hold his own against the inmates! He couldn’t be pushed around! The ML was really good too! Not only strong but also on the intelligent side. He was such a big vinegar jar!They both stood on equal grounds!Always playing word games and teasing each other! And when together? XDDD such a shameless couple who loved doing roleplays and trying different positions and places! And both of them knowing the imaginative scenes playing in each other’s minds (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) It was honestly so much fun to read such a couple dynamics!

If you are a fan of passionate romance like me, then this is your cup of tea! Don’t skip it! I recommend it 10/10! <<less

Ahhh! This is really good! From the characters' dynamics, to the riveting plotline and even to the wordplays. Absolutely stunning!!! Even though it was a short read, it definitely exceeded all of my expectations. I originally didn't like the premise from the summary, but I was hooked in and blown away by the great execution of the story. The author is so amazing.

This is legitimately a power couple, both the MC and ML are intelligent and powerful in their own rights. I adore their tit-for-tat banter and mutually filthy minds.... more>> One of the extra chapters lets us peek into the ML's perspective and it was so adorable and hilarious!

Translations are of a very good quality too, I love how the translator would explain certain wordplays and add in some notes to clarify things. This novel has a solid recommendation from me, do give it a go! <<less

An unexpectedly well-paced wholesome love story. I don't know if the translation elevated it or the original itself was already this good. The plot is tight and the setting is not overly dark despite most of the characters being criminals. Quite an enjoyable read.

Now, now, I have been reading novels for such a long time but has never reviewed one. But this. THIS.I am literally feeling compelled to let others know that this is a gem. In my opinion this is the best and most natural couple I have seen in such a long time. Made for each other and love at first sight actually lives up to its definition. Translation *chef's kiss*!!!they have done an incredible job and it is wonderfully written in the first place.I have seen MLS said to be... more>> with high IQs but ZM at every turn proves it. You read his mental calculations and agree to that. And although plot is not very exciting and it a smooth read (predictable to some extent even) , MC and MLS "little games" and interactions are just worth reading it.

Great read in conclusion!! Definitely one of my favourites. <<less

The perfect example of a heathy push-and-pull dynamic between a power couple ML and MC. It was refreshing to see a ML be sulky rather than angry when the MC was being a "scumbag" (AKA the MC not wanting to get fired). They always indulged in whatever filth the other said and never made the other feel bad. 100% one of my fav couples!! My only complaint is that the ending came too quickly.

This was quite a fun read. The s*xual tension between MC and ML was definitely the highlight of the novel. Honestly the main draw back was the censoring which was so damn annoying after all that teasing.

Considering the rating I was rather surprised that I somwhat lost interest in the novel later on due to the lack of action and plot. Despite what other reviews mention, the termonology was fine, I think the issue was more the lack of depth on suppporting characters and the author relying... more>> on the tension between the characters to carry the novel. There was just not enough conflict. I feel like the novel had so much more potential which just wastn't explored by the author in my humble opinion.

However, this story was amazing to read and I thoroughly enjoyed how thirsty MC and ML were for each other.😝 <<less

This is a solid 5/5. From the summary you might expect this to be a dark, red flag story but the character are actually very wholesome and have a really fun dynamic! The story is incredibly well written and the plot is very engaging, I binged the whole story in a day.

My favorite part of this story has to be the writing style! The author is very deliberate with their words and it’s extremely satisfying to seeing all the puzzle pieces come together at the end.
