Ok about the novel. Um I really like it. Basically you just have to be the type to appreciate ruthless opness from both the MC and ML but to be fair, it makes sense why they are so op. It doesn't come from no where; they do work for it. Bottom line, except for a few characters, I think most if not all of the characters are enjoyable and real. And finally to end my thesis, the romance between these two is so damn cute and RESPECTFUL. And despite being ruthless, the MC is somehow very refreshing and different from others I have read. You will notice there are very little korean novels on this list. The reason being a. They are highly protected so they either eventually get taken down or stopped in translation, b. They are very popular so they get hidden behind paywalls for long periods (which is hardly acceptable esp if the author doesn't get money lol), and c. Imo when they get collected by an aggregate to be translated, the translation quality is not very good compared to Chinese translation groups. Why do I say this? I'm prepping you so if these chapters go bye bye you know why ahha. But ultimately I have to say that this story is specifically very immersive. I find it enjoyable although not a masterpiece. Nah and preferably I don't mind black belly mls at all. I like these two too much. It's a sweet romance. A bit slow in the beginning but it's a romance y'all. The MC is also a super modern realistic cool funny girl; she has a real personality & intentionally is super loyal and has healthy female relationships. The only annoying part will be her mother - but I think their romance is worth trudging through the unlikibility of the mom (she's not that prominent). <<less

Im gonna give you a metaphor per say. It's like when you have a co-worker that you haven't talk to very much but you're pretty sure from your observation that this is how she is bc of what she wears, how she talks, who she interacts with, and whatever background she's shared with the work before: like yes she's just basic, would maybe be your thoughts. Like she's just not that complex. But reality proves us wrong all the time in your real life. She probably isn't always happy because she's rich and she's human so maybe she's never had the emotional growth in dealing with people, she's only in her twenties. So that co-worker metaphor is not exactly the MC but it is the metaphor for this book and all of its characters. What I'm telling you is that this writing and book looks like a stereotypical 2d story and honestly you can tell that the author doesn't have ANY PRETENSIONS imo bc the writing is effortless. And that's f*cking skill. This writing neither takes itself too seriously (that it is not going out of it's genre) but naturally, effortlessly allows the reader to see all of the characters as growing, changing real human beings. Bc we're not like "woe is me" everyday as real people. We go on, we avoid issues, we act the same, we have pride, and ultimately we change eventually. I'm telling you this because this is ultimately what is a fluffy novel but with real human characters without ANY PRETENSIONS. The writing never takes itself too seriously and I JUST READ THE MTL..the SKILL. OMG. 

Basically the MC is cringy in the beginning, get over it, she can't help it - trudge through it and you will find a gem of a story. The MC lacks emotional experience. She's in her early twenties, it's reasonable also you understand why bc of this writing. (I mean anyway Most men statistically don't have high emotional understanding until their 40s.) 

The ML has faults like humans do lol. But they both recognize their issues and grow and when I say issues it's so naturally written. He is still a very good person. There is no angst. Also this has real side characters. Everyone is a real person. I'm like.... What. This has hands down the BEST FEMALE FRIENDSHIP in all of the Chinese books I've read thus far. WHY? BC REAL FRIENDS CALL OUT BS and friends learn from each other. 

And honestly the ex girlfriend just exists to allow us to eat dog food and I'm here for it. And you won't care either. You will be lining up for this dog food.

This book is subtle dude. Just enjoy the ride. I feel like I can't even describe it. It's just a very low-key understated "fluffy" (bc it is?) book about what it's like to join two people in marriage but also be fabulously rich and good looking lol. I mean that's fun man and it doesn't take it seriously. I say that bc I lack vocabulary.

U can tell by this longass review that I think this book is a masterpiece but I don't even want to set the bar that high bc it ruins how natural and understated the author wrote all of these characters. <<less

And they make sickest memes. The romance is not the most romantic however this is what everyday modern technological apt ppl like u and me are like - aka the ML and mc are written like what it's truly like to be good looking together in a relationship, literally not caring about each other and annoying each other normally like as if they're real people, they're not praising each other's looks to the end of the world (although other ppl are lol). They are written like a realistic friend relationship imo.

I agree w one of the reviewers that is is a shame she goes into entertainment BUT wow ok this may not be a masterpiece but I am HELLA refreshed by the super realistic approach to handling the family situations/problems (nothing is dragged out bc the characters NOT JUST THE MC have a brain) and the omg familial relationships is SUPER REFRESHING. There's an appropriate growth and redemption and recognition of what they did wrong. It's not perfect but it's a good cliche fantasy entertainment novel for spending your extra time. If you like to read about a good brotherhood this is also it.

Disclaimer: its so strange but it has a fairly strong fl lead and "weak" ml however it is still upholding traditional chinese gender roles and standards lowkey. The ML is arguably more feminist than the MC/most women tbh is (before her growth). The growth of the two leads beat out how cliche some of the scenerios the author wrote to get them together. The disclaimer is that this could have been better written to reduce the amount of unnecessary cliche romcom plot devices to get them together, BUT their romantic relationship once they get together and their growth is amazing although predictable. Honestly, this book opened up my perspective and changed my thoughts on relationships and law so I think no matter it's flaws, it deserves a full read from everyone.  My full review if you want is listed there.  <<less
