Little screenwriter Gu Nian has a secret. She was a big fan of an 18th-tier actor by the name of Luo Xiu.

Luo Xiu was good looking but his acting was god awful. He had no work for 2 years, the one time that he was on a show, he was mocked to the point that even his own mother wouldn’t admit that he was her son.

As such, he dropped straight to 180th-tier.

Gu Nian, on the other hand, was determined to become a gold medal screenwriter and had him be her dedicated male supporting character.

Luo Xiu had a loyal fan. Ever since his debut, she did everything that a fan would — wait for him at airports, vote for him online, and wave banners of his. Other fans would waver back and forth but this girl remained his loyal fan for two straight years.

Once she was drunk after they have met each other, she patted him on his shoulder, cried and said, “Son, its okay that you are not backed by big bosses! When Mommy become a gold-medal screenwriter, I will back you!”

Luo Xiu: “……”

After Gu Nian became a gold-medal screenwriter and signed her contract with a up-and-coming media company, she was summoned to a meeting at their office.

She texted Luo Xiu outside of the conference room, “Son! Mommy can back you now! Just you wait!”

Soon after she sent the message, she heard a notification chime coming from in front of her.

Gu Nian looked up, puzzled, and saw a very familiar handsome face.

The secretary introduced the two of them, “Miss Gu, this is our CEO, Luo Xiu.”

Gu Nian: …..?

Secretary: “Boss Luo, this is….”

“No need for introduction, I know her.” Luo Xiu looked up after he finished reading the text. His eyes a dark black color. “This is the boss who has been backing me behind the scene.”

Everyone: ….? ? ?

I have no idea why Eclat thinks that this is a story about fangirling. This is a romance story between the ML and the MC. Readers will learn later on in the story why MC considers herself a mom-fan of the ML. I like this story for the following reasons:

    1. MC is funny. Her identifying herself as a "mom-fan" is part of the humor.
    2. MC is an independent woman before and after ML's identity was "exposed".
    3. Every time I think the story will fall into the cliche trap, the author manages to surprise me.
    4. The story goes at a good pace with the main story ended on chapter 68. The extras are still ongoing, but I am guessing it will end in another chapter or so. Will update on that.
    5. MC has a healthy relationship with her single mother and friends.
Most importantly, it is light-hearted and fluffy.

I cannot help myself from binge reading this after this certain eccentricity from the MC, Gu Nian when she sees her 'son' being 'kabedon-ed' and hugged by a certain woman...

Gu Nian was only too anxious to protect her "son". After struggling between "Don't move" and "Let go of him" for 0.1 second, she finally shouted out –

"Don't let go of him!

"Or I am going to call the cops!!"

ML, Lu Xiu, for me is sort of black belly and a manipulator. He describes his self as someone who have zero sense of morality. As such, all those who knew the real him called him evil dragon. So when they found out he cares for Gu Nian, they applaud her for bravely cluelessly entering the dragon's den.

MC, Gu Nian, is a wise and street smart kind of MC who reasons her way out. MC is kind of OP/talented but it was not emphasize unlike other C-novels... She is a screenwriter, composer and singer. She is also hypersensitive type of person.

I like that Gu Nian being a 'mom' fan was not because of Luo Xiu's face or just for the sake of being handsome type of guy for the plot to continue... There is a deeper and touching reason.

If you just see Gu Nian to be just a fan blindly chasing Luo Xiu in a camouflage known as mom fan that looks like she will never listen to her friends about their observations regarding LX's manipulating tendencies. You are greatly mistaken.

Luo Xiu, for Gu Nian, is her safety net (figuratively and literally) . This is the main reason why she was never deterred nor disillusion even if her friends or someone warns her about Luo Xiu being a manipulator.

For me, the story is good and the Translator is so right about this novel being light hearted and fluffy. <<less

I honestly don't understand how this got such a high rating, or maybe it's because I've never had the experience fangirling over an idol so I couldn't relate to the MC at all. About 70% of this novel is filled with MC gushing over her 'son' with overexaggerated wordings and fantasies, I'm not even kidding. She's hands down obsessive borderline delusional for ML, even though she's a full-fledged grownup.

For me, as someone with no experience fangirling, the plot is extremely silly, childish, with TONS of plot holes that didn't even... more>> make a dent of sense (like how the filthy rich ML ended up as an actor), shallow characters with no growth, and written with mediocre skills. You better off not reading this lest your IQ digress. <<less

You know my fave thing about this is?

the ML is so manipulative lmao. But not in the way that most ML's are in other novels, where they play with the life of the FL just so the FL will depend on them more.

but here, the ML sacrifices himself a lot just so the FL will "save" him lmao. There was this one time where the FL is so afraid of what will happen to the ML if they reveal their relationship so the ML ... more>>

allows a picture of him and the FL to be taken where the FL's face is covered and they were heading out a very expensive neighborhood (where they live but the ML is not known to be rich) and is rumored to be a kept man. So the FL decidedly reveals their relationship to save the ML's reputation

and there are a lot of times where you want to tell the FL to run away from the evil dragon but oh well the evil dragon is so nice to her and he's so goodlooking so <<less

Enjoyable—already had several laughs just a couple of chapters in. The heroine has signs of some swagger and fun, which is what I like in a heroine.

The heroine is a “mom”-type fan, so she is always talking about the ML as her “son” and wants to send him presents and “raise” him. The joke is of course that she is younger than he is, but that ain’t stopping her.

Translator turns out consistently high-quality work. I hope they are able to take this on as a more permanent project instead of... more>> an intermittent one, but we can only wait and hope! <<less

I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorites! I'm looking forward to the day this becomes regularly updated so I can dramatically sob everytime a new chapter comes out lol

This is probably the first and last time I will ever be writing a review 1) because I'm not good with words 2) I add nothing to the conversation 3) my opinions are meaningless

This is how desperate I am for more chapters

Look into my eyes O.O don't you see how sincere and pitiful they are???? I'm... more>> begging orz <<less

So far so good!! Though it feels like the usual interesting witty MC x cold ML, it has 11/10 plot and the translation flows naturally. The summary pretty much explains the premise of the story, mama fan MC chasing after her secretly bigshot 'actor' ml.

This novel is a very good thirst quenching novel. It's filled with pink bubbles all around.

Gu Nian (MC) is very likable. She is clever, open minded and straight foward. I find it cute when she tried to spoil Luo Xiu and protect his dignity. She also treats her friends well.

The reason she starts liking Luo Xiu is because he saved her from commiting suicide. To her, he's like an angel whom saved her and gave her a new life. That's why she wanted all the best for Luo Xiu.

Luo Xiu (ML) is very cunning and self aware. He would use a lot of unscrupulous methods to capture the MC, but he would never hurt the MC and even tries to protect her.

The reason he fell in love with Gu Nian is because of her actions. Such as supporting him and caring for him all the time. I really appreciate him for trying to be honest with MC in the end.

The dating part is also written nicely. You see how the ML 'struggle' but it's mostly filled with cute moment.

Don't worry to much about the antagonist in the story. They just come and go.

Although I do feel like some questions were left unanswered but It's still worth reading. <<less

The story as far as im reading has become kind of irritating... I feel like the MC is too blind about the ML. The first few chapters are really interesting but as the story goes on I find it really irritating to the point my eyebrows were starting to meet.

Seriously ... more>>

what the hell is the MC like its been said that she's not someone who has a deep background and she's currently an amateur screen writer without really an official work but then she started acting like a big boss behind the scene with an artificial power/authority threatening somehow (but I interpret it like that) the director tho yeah there's a problem with the crew but like she started saying you cant bully blablabla the ML like she's a hidden boss while in reality she's a screenwriter and an amateur at that. And don't get me with the lies after lies and misunderstanding that doesn't seem to stop yet. Seriously... She should atleast have the power to save herself first before trying to save the ML to make it worthwhile. Its like she's asking for a beating sighhhh

The story is seriously stressing me out but the translator is doing a good job but then again I mtl the chapters so im not sure how accurate it is but as far as I'm reading it I cant really help it.

I really love this omg aaaAA 💯💯💯💯💯

The main couple really reminds me of the main characters from another chinese novel named 'I Am Not Fit to Be the Male Lead’s First Love'. The MC here (Gu Nian) reminds me of the MC in that story (Chu Yin) with how consistent their personalities are. Although they are different on how they treat their own MLs, they have something in common which is that they're both really strong minded female protagonists and that's really something in chinese novels. This is just a personal opinion but I've read a lot of novels and those chinese ones that I've read usually have a pattern in their female protagonists, they're usually introduced as really strong minded and smart but would somehow end up dumb or s*upid in front of the ML and would 'unconsciously' slip up things and that'll be their charm or smthng. Not that I hate those characters but it gets annoying when it always happens so these types of female protagonists really intrigues me.

That said, even the ML here (Luo Xiu) are almost the same with the ML from that novel (Lu Zhen). One thing that didn't change is the fact that they're both the powerful type of ML, though in Luo Xiu's case, he's hiding his identity so currently the public doesn't know who he is other than some low actor that doesn't even act well, just a pretty face. What I do like about the both of them is that they didn't fall in love at first sight at MC. (Though for those who've read the other novel I've said then we know it's different in his case it's not that he didn't fall in love at first sight it was rather MC didn't let him so kinda different in that case but anyways lol). In Luo Xiu's situation, he didn't immediately liked her at first interaction, rather, he was weirded out by her indifference to others yet she was super nice to him so he suspected that she must be like the others, just wearing a mask to use him or smthng.

There is a lot of misunderstanding here and believe me when I say a lot because it is A LOT. Though I find it funny here since MCs intention is really pure and solely just to take care of ML which she sees as her 'son' but in MLs perspective at the very beginning is that she must be pretending and hiding her true intentions of bedding him LMAO. In other stories these kind of misunderstandings would have been so stressful but in this one it's more on funny with MCs character LMAO. It's because she's really nonchalant about other stuff, doesn't care about how others see her, would save her friends if needed, wouldn't care if others talk sh*t about her but would talk sh*t back if others were talking about her friends, aND would also wreck sh*t if others are bad mouthing her 'son' aka ML xD HAHAHA.

So in short, what I really like is Gu Nian's personality. I really love how she doesn't let any irrelevant rumors affect her yet when it comes to her people she'd do whatever she can to save them. And ALSO, her clever character is really portrayed well. I really like how attentive, clever, and calculative she is it really suits her character as a screenwriter with how open minded she is which I say not many 'author' characters have in most novels.

And lastly, with how guarded Luo Xiu is at the beginning, thinking that Gu Nian must be pretending and is just laying a trap for him for her own advantages, him being bored so he decided to 'play along' with her just to see what she'll do, but would end up finding out a lot of things about her like how she's actually his loyal fan all along and that his first impression of her was all his own misunderstanding and that she genuinely cares for him, to him now being stressed since she really treats him as her son xD. He really was like, 'this woman has bad intentions she keeps on seducing me' to 'why is this woman not seducing me' LMAO THEY'RE SO FUNNY.

This is a fun and refreshing read and the translation is excellent. It's one of the only novels I'm keeping up with consistently these days.

The main character constantly makes me laugh and she's got a lot of interesting aspects to her character that I hope live up to their potential. She seems like she has hidden depths!

For me the romance is secondary (ie I don't care about it too much) but the ML's generally confused reactions to the MC (so far) do always get a chuckle out of me and... more>> that's always a plus imo. I'm not especially invested in his character yet but honestly the MC is what makes this novel for me anyways. <<less

I think this novel is promising. The summary itself tickled my heart and I am already hooked after reading the first 3 chapters. The FL is witty and pretty laid back while the ML is the usual quiet and powerful type - my usual cup of tea. Translation is really clear and the flow of the story is good. I can't wait to read the rest of the chapters and I do hope this will be translated until the end.

Alright, so! So far, it appears that the MC live with a rose-tinted glasses, that "fan" filters which automatically goes up whenever her idol is near. A bit out of touch with reality, and the first several chapters would want to make you shake some senses within her. She's a bit of a stalker... or that's just how much of a die-hard fan she is. But outside of her obsession with her beloved idol, she's a strong, calm, and capable MC.

If you can power through the nonsense in the earlier... more>> chapters, things will get better. It's fun and silly, but it feels like I'm reading a fanfiction.... And remember, don't expect realism in here...

Opinion might change later <<less

I like the black bellied male lead Luo XUn.

chapter 34
Jiang Xiaoqing couldn’t help but turned her head and said softly to Qin Yuanyuan, “If this Luo Xiu really is interested in our Gu Nian, I’ll feel sorry for him.”

Qin Yuanyuan, “Why?”

Jiang Xiaoqing, “Just think about it. The girl he wanted to pursue think of him as her son. Can you think of a bigger tragedy than that?”

Qin Yuanyuan finally busted out laughing. “I guess you are right.”

I want to say that compared to the story about the younger brother I feel this one is a bit lacking. Maybe I missed where this is explained but I really don’t get why the brothers refuse to accept the inheritance as well as how bad the relationship between the ML and his family is. Like I would have loved to get more insight on the brothers relationship and growing up... the father son combo etc. even the FL backstory is a bit lacking. When it comes to the romance... more>> it feels really dragged especially in the translations because of the split chapters. Dw when the ML makes a move things are relatively fast. What made this slightly boring for me was that too much entertainment industry involvement when the ML isn’t even trying hard or basically interested in it. There is truly no fluffy romance in my opinion and things are pretty dry. I love how gentle he is with her but if you’re like me who’s directly coming from the first book this is a far cry behind and makes the experience drier.
it’s not horrible but feels terribly dragged out. An ok read. <<less

It's a really light novel

It's average

It's not that bad. The concept is good. A mom fan, and two faced ML. How she slowly learned that her idol is not as saint as she expected him to be. But, I still think it's quite rushed, and a lot of character doesn't really has that much developed
