I like stories where the MC is loved and cherished by his people (but not romantically, not into harem).Though I still ship MC with other characters sometimes (〃'▽'〃). 

Some are more of a slice-of-life, with little actions, but more focusing on the deep bonds of the main characters.  I only put series that I've actually read, with my little comments on it, I'm definitely up to recommendations for similar trope.

Stories with a close friendship/relationship between two male characters that is not romantic in nature.

- I eat anything no romance, straight, BL, GL. As long as it is good story why not? I ship anyone as long it is cute!

- The MC is I think funny, decent, or good. The side character is not too flat. I avoided pe*vert protag, aiming for harem is a big no, especially slaving someone for pe*vert desire is a no go.

- Story is good, I prefer slow paced, or while MC is gone world still continuing not revolving MC.

- I prefer slow paced romance or romance as sub-plot, or no romance at all, If its twisted but interesting I will add it. If its healthy relationship I will add it too. Yandere or Possesive character is good if its been used well?

- I will give short description each novel (beware of spoiler), and what I think about it.

*Note: I might dropped in the middle / stalling the novel, but I put it in here because I like the premise after all, please read the review to know which I dropped and why. I will put dropped tag + make in lower.

*Note: I dislike when it is all serious and tense suddenly romance pop up. I wont dislike if the novel stated it, or the entry is natural, but forced suddenly out of nowhere I dislike it. It is like a pinapple pizza, when you are expecting pizza but suddenly there is a pinapple on it. You like pinapple, but not at your pizza. <<less

My preference: Meandering slow-burn novels like Mao Ni's stuff get extra points. Harem/romance/face-slapping power fantasies get minus points. Completed novels get bonus points, and terrible endings get points knocked off. Also plus points for character building friends/family/enemies and down points for solo yolo.
