The MC harnesses his cheat as a portal between worlds, and he harnesses it to start growing in power in a pretty satisfactory manner. MC gets a harem and sleeps around, which did put me off. Nonetheless the harem has some backstory into each character (Better than I can say for most other harems in Chinese novels), and I did find his exploits both in the real world and apocalypse world very interesting. Pure slice of life novel with the MC gaining intelligent pets and expanding his wealth via treasure hunting. The only real negatives I can think of is the plot/pacing and the "racism", yet I think those things are blown out of proportion. This is a slice of life novel so you should keep your expectations down with the slow pacing. Secondly, the "racism" in this novel is comedic but also truthful. Consider this, the MC is Chinese in a white dominated Arizona, in a tense industry that is involved with people's livelihoods, obviously people will talk crap about his ethnicity when he steps on their toes. Good novel as it has the MC become a buff gunman/superhero in marvel crossover world. There are definitely great parts such as when the MC makes an appearance during famous movie scenes that makes you filled with adrenaline. The world isn't black and white, people at the top aren't always saints, its made apparent that most of them look out for their interests first. Heck, even the MC isn't some idealized hero as confirmed by the system and himself, creating a more realistic modern day novel. Stats in this novel are inconsistent as noted by the translator himself. However the MC is scheming and pragmatic, who has a grey moral compass when it comes to dealing with conflict, in fact certain scenes will make him seem like a villain, though nonetheless the MC values friendship. MC pursues the tank path, which I think is a breath of fresh air in this genre. Characters aren't s*upid which is a good bonus, can't say much about world building since it is just the MC travelling to different movie/book worlds. For anybody reading this list, BEWARE OF THE BLATANT SPOILERS IN THE OPs RATINGS. This is not how you make a public reading list, nor how you promote novels.
The OP doesn't properly explain why or how the novels they recommend are good, or how they are "boring", which they denote with the stated chapters in nearly every single novel they recommend.
OP also seems to judge what is quality or not based off of arbitrary factors such as "whether the mc is h**ny or not", this along with how they imply most other novels are "dogsh*t" and "sh*t" are major red flags.
I advise any readers caution taking recommendations from such a list, especially with the added spoilers. I mean no offense but this is absurd to the point I had to say something.
Firstly, I admit there are spoilers in the descriptions of the novel, however most of them are minor in nature and do not ruin the reading experience. This is quite necessary in giving my opinion on the novel. Nonetheless I will be editing these descriptions.
Secondly this is a novel recommendation list, not a novel review. I do not go in explicit detail into why the novel is good or bad, I do admit I need to give more of a description on my part where I simply say the novel is "ok" or "decent", however I do give some of my reasoning on select novels. This is clearly my opinion
Thirdly, when did I suggest that the novel quality is worse/superior based on whether the MC was h**ny or not? It is obvious that I am implying that I do not quite enjoy this type of protagonist, however I never gave any annotations towards worse quality for the novel objectively. I am just pointing out my preferences for my own ideal MC.
Fourth, I find it laughable when you complain that the words "dogshit" and "shit" on my recommendation list raises "major red flags". Although there are plenty of novels out there that are good (based on quality of writing, characters, world building, cultivation system etc.), for multiple reasons whether it be a noticeable decline in quality in later parts, or arcs/plot direction that I was frustrated with, I have decided to not include them in my list.
Remember, this list is just what I personally enjoyed and what I think others would like to. There is much improvement to be made on this list and you have helped give feedback for where I should edit this list, however I feel that you are too harsh for a newly edited list.
