On the other hand, stories with bottoms who are outwardly masculine but play a wife role in the relationship would not be considered a "manly gay couple" in this list.

A "traditional" top-bottom dynamic is primarily defined here as one where the bottom is an ersatz traditional woman. Certain danmei-specific tropes that make a character easily identifiable as the bottom or top could also qualify.
