Favorite novels that I always go back to re-read. This is regardless of completion status or genre, so it's a hodgepodge, but an enjoyable hodgepodge.

Rankings are totally random. It's gonna be updated. It's still a new list so bear with me. Min +500 chapters translated (although there will be... more>> rare cases of some novels having a little bit less chapters). I've been reading Chinese/Korean novels for 7+ years. If you don't see the chapters don't worry, novelupdates... they don't upload unofficial translations. Use novelfull or noveltop for reading, they're anti "webnovel" web sites, or other similar websites.
"Preferably" Chaotic Neutral and Lawful Evil MCs. Male MC only. Hate IET novels except for the Stellar Transformations as it was my first novel. Hate cheap faceslapping and arrogant youngmasters. This is a forbidden territory for The Desolate Era lovers.. go away. Chinese & Korean novels only. As everyone knows, there are two different perspectives for a novel review. The true, detailed analysis and the one that is based on personal opinion. The novels on this list, are all selected after detailed analyses, not personal opinion. They all (seriously) are quality works but you might not like them. It depends on your taste. 1 - STRENGTH : Constant MC drive to Increase his power/strength via cultivation or other means. The greater the obstacles he overcomes, the hardship, and the explosion of his power after he strengthened himself, the greater is the psychological reward. Examples: I Shall Seal The Heavens, Against The Gods, The Desolate Era.

2 - BEAUTY : An unending series of beauties in distress, with saving them as the main motivation to go on with the story. The MC should not be necessary a righteous person, but he should have a soft spot for damsels in distress. The beauties must not necessarily become part of the MC harem, they just need to be grateful to him. Examples: Womanizing Mage, Ancient Strengthening Technique, Battle Through the Heavens.

3 - WISDOM : The MC must outsmart his enemies. The most cunning, the better. Battle strength alone is not going to keep interest in the long run. Scheming and strategy, especially long term grand designs and political ploys, keep the story interesting. Antagonists also need to be crafty to make defeating them a rewarding experience. EXAMPLES: Legend of Ling Tian, Nirvana in Fire, Transcending the Nine Heavens.

So the formula is Xianxia/Xuanhuan + Save-The-Beauties + Cunning Protagonist.

SSS - it was incredibly interesting for me to read, I consider it an excellent work, the shortcomings do not strike my eye.

SS - it was very interesting for me to read, I consider it a good work, some shortcomings are striking.

S - I was very interested in reading, the work may be shit, but I was interested in something and did not want to pay attention to the shortcomings.

A - it was interesting for me to read, I think the work is at least normal, there may be many flaws.

B - it was interesting for me to read, it may be shit, there are many shortcomings, but I ignore some.

C - it was a little interesting for me to read, I think the works are shit, there are a lot of shortcomings.

Estimates can be corrected and specified. The meaning can be distorted due to translation.

Although imo the most correct classification would be: what I finished reading was interesting to me at that moment, and what I never finished reading was not. <<less

Each novel in this list parodies  or satirizes generic Xianxia or Xuanhuan  novels. Some popular methods include playing with the arrogant young master or lucky protagonist trope. That is, a common trope in cultivation novels is included in a twisted way that somehow comments on the state of the trope in the genre as a whole.... more>>

No evil protagonist, no game novel, only a few systems, not a lot of fast pace only action books. The first ones are slower and more elaborate. I'll add a few more : Walker of the worlds, World domination system. <<less

Too little wives like 2 and 3 , don't count. I mainly prefer harem and polygamous novels as they are the reason I turned to light novels in the first place, anime,manga etc just don't have enough true harem endings, most just choose one girl and break my heart. That's why I make major concessions on certain novels to continue, as beggars can't be choosers. List is not optimized and places may change as many of them are close and the middle is hard to sot, there are a few great novels and tr*sh novels and more middle novels... more>>

Some where the MC's normal desires such as "protecting family" is distorted and warped in to the extremes.

Some where the MC starts out already as a bit outside a normal person and gets more and more distorted through the progress of the novel.

Some where the MC starts out as a normal person and ends up completely twisted and warped.

MC's can end up as either righteous, evil, antihero, etc but the character distortion is where this list focuses on.
