The initial premise also reminds me of Scum Villain, though this novel certainly focuses a lot more on worldbuilding and other external matters outside of the MC and ML (that progress is a bit slow since these two get into a lot of trouble.) The rest of the story that follows is mostly focused on this development. That is, the dynamic between the old and the young. As well as the complicated situation with the parents. And, oh! Summary: The MC (Ke Xun) visited a painting exhibition along with his friend. By some twist of fate, they ended up being dragged into the world of paintings. In these paintings, they have to do not only survive the death triggers set up by the instance but also find the seal that will allow them to leave. The ML (Mu Yiran) is a big boss that appears in the MC’s first entrance and helps him survive long enough to grow.

If you want to compare it to other ultimate flow novels, the tone is definitely a lot more mature. The characters are complex and the setting is well put together. Lots of research should have also been put into it, making the world truly seem like it’s popping off the page. SO, all in all? My opinion of the novel is very good~ If I hadn’t been in the wrong mood, I think I could have enjoyed it a lot. <<less

Summary: (Honestly, one of the reasons I stayed away from this novel for so long was because of the Summary, it's so confusing to me LOLOL). The basic gist is this ... The MC (Shen Zechuan) is introduced as a prisoner being tortured by the imperial guards. He's the son of a suspected turncoat during the war, one that resulted in over 30,000 deaths and lost territory. As was common back then, to punish one person was to punish his entire family. And as the only remaining person in the Shen family, the MC got the brunt of it all, and was left to face the collective hatred of everyone who wanted his father dead. Unfortunately for them, he doesn't die. He continues to survive even after being imprisoned, even though he's become numb to it all.

As for the ML, the ML is Xiao Chiye, the second son of a famous war general. His brother took over the family business in his father's stead, and is known far and wide as a respectable and powerful general. Meanwhile, the ML had the identity of a dandy in the capital. One who does nothing but drink and who*e around -- this is not actually the case. Just like the MC, Xiao Chiye is eagerly working towards his seemingly impossible goal. He's a caged wolf that wants to go to where his home is and be free. Unfortunately, the situation refuses to allow such a thing to happen. <<less

Outside of that, there was really nothing else of note. OF course, this could be because I stopped reading too soon. *Thinkingface* well. The Translation is good, so it's definitely worth a try at least. If you're not looking for anything too complex, then this is not a bad read. The tone is lighthearted, so it's easy to just to turn your brain off and enjoy it. Not what I'm currently looking for though, so I've decided to put it down for now and come back to it later. <<less

The entanglement usually involves a force marriage (like the case here) or a fake dating agreement (also like the case here) LMFAO. AKA, some contrived reason to force a plain Jane MC to interact regularly with a handsome ML with great achievements. Of course, due to the disparity in their standings and the ML's cold persona, the... more>> MC has to suffer a lot in the beginning, facing lots of rejection and having to grit their teeth through countless misunderstandings. After a while, the ML's cold facade will slowly melt because of the MC's persistent optimism, and will slowly fall for the MC because of her gentleness and uniqueness. etc. etc. JKFSJLASF It's a very common script, is what I'm trying to say. Very cliche, as a lot of the reviewers, would agree.

Of course, that doesn't mean that it's necessarily a bad read. There's a reason those teledramas are so popular, after all XD. I'm just not into romance novels of this style, I saw too much of it (I swear, all of the teledramas I watched as a kid were like this.) I might want to read this another time when I'm looking for something simple (I doubt it, but you never know). Anyway, for now, I'm leaving the rest of it unread. <<less

I avoided reading the novel for a long time because of it XD and when I finally decided to read regardless of the summary, it turned it to be misleading. Anyway, here's what I know for now:Summary: This is a novel where the two main characters had long met and fallen in love before the story ever even began. When we first meet the two, the shou (who is actually the ML in this situation), had been reborn without any memories of the past, but with lingering feelings for the gong, who he encounters at a young age. As for the MC, it's clear that he remembers everything, idk why he doesn't say anything (I guess it's a bit pointless since the shou is too young and probably wouldn't believe it), but he chooses to not say anything and e instead let's things go on as they will. Of course, since the shou loves the gong to begin with, progress is expected to be relatively smooth.Thoughts: It's hard to have any thoughts since I just started reading LOLOL, but I do agree that the setup is a bit "bland". This novel reads more like a sequel. Everything has already been setup, and the main pairing had their Happy Ending. It's just that, as sequels usually show, Happy Endings aren't always forever and things happened to split them up again. As a person that usually dislikes and avoids sequels, it's hard to get over the hurdle of instinctively wanting to disdain the novel for not living up to expectations LMAO. ANYWAY, all I know for now is that I have no intention on continuing to read. I'll try again later, hopefully it will be better if I know what's coming. <<less

Rather than infrastructure, this novel focuses mainly on romance and drama. Which is fine, but in a beastman/primitive-era-setting, it felt a little bit out of place to me. IDK, it may just be because of the MTL's quality that it felt weird (it's about 70% readable, but I can't be sure because the author is particularly descriptive and I ended up skimming lots of parts to do with appearances of the characters -- of which there was many!)... more>>

SUMMARY:

Anyway, the MC of this fic is a transmigrator called Wang Jin. He transmigrated into the body of a 'little lunatic' who had lost his memories and found himself in a foreign tribe. This tribe didn't treat the original owner very well, and even arranged for him to be married off (though, to be fair, this marriage was more of a punishment to the ML than the MC XD.) Speaking of the ML, his name is Yuan Heng. He's a powerful beast-man who can also be considered a foreigner. The person that the leader of the tribe likes is obsessed with him, and thus, he is forced to marry the lunatic.

The story begins after the MC and ML have been set up. The MC is a very spoiled and coquettish type of person. His body is so sensitive that he bleeds pretty much everytime even a bit of force is applied, so it's not completely because of his personality that he's so loud and domineering (though it's certainly a big part of it). As it happens, the ML is the doting and spoiling type. So, the two end up fitting together quite nicely.

THOUGHTS:

If you want to see a slightly not-so-typical spoiled!shou and doting!gong pairing in a different setting, then this is not a bad story to try out. I think I could have read it till the end if it weren't the MTL and the lack of ambition in the MC. It's true that he really just gets swept along with the plot most of the time. Mainly because his personality is designated to be as such (you know, lying down while bossing people around). I don't recommend reading this if you're sensitive to personality types like these, I guarantee you'll dislike it quite a bit XD. I don't mind because I enjoy reading unique characters, and this MC doesn't act spoiled for no reason. The author did a pretty good job setting him up with a background and physique that explains most of his annoying traits, and I find that interesting.

I also don't recommend reading this if you're looking for infrastructure-building or clan-building (which is what I initially read this novel for). There is a little bit of that, since the MC is given a golden finger (the ability to conjure formulas for food, equipment, clothes, etc.). However, it's definitely not the focus. It may be played with a little more in the second half of the novel, but I can't be sure. Whichever is the case, I'll come back and reread when the official TL is further along. Hopefully, at that time, I'll be able to enjoy the novel more! (For now, I won't be rating the novel because I read it mostly in MTL, and thus can't be sure if my impression is accurate XD.) <<less

Most of the content is comprehensible, but all the details and subtext are completely lost @.@). So yeah, I thought it would be best to wait.SUMMARY: The cowardly MC, Wen Chi, transmigrates into a cannon fodder from a novel he had read (surprisingly, this aspect doesn’t play that big a role, it’s just a plot device.) In the novel, he gets married off to the big villain in place of the protagonist shou, and as a result, he ends up with a bad end. Upon transmigrating, the MC does make an attempt to change things once, only to find that he was inexplicably controlled by something. As such, he gives up trying... and just lets himself be married off lolol. The situation at the Crown Prince’s (the ML, Shi Ye) Palace is a bit weird though. Based on outward appearances, the ML is content to treat him as a toy, though he’s a uniquely favored toy (and he’s quite cruel about it too sometimes). However, there’s some secret behind the scenes, and the MC discovers the truth as the story continues.THOUGHTS: TBH, I don’t dislike the MC’s cowardly nature, cause I thought it was a unique characterization and found it interesting. However, his lack of proactive ness makes me feel really exasperated at times. He’s really just being pushed along by the current of plot little by little. He has no big ambition, and though he does make a few moves that made me believe he had potential, for the most part, he doesn’t do much. In contrast, the ML perhaps does too much XD. He does so many things, but with the mysterious-ness of his background, it can be a bit frustrating to guess his thoughts.All in all, the characters are a bit iffy for me. Maybe I’ll like them more as the story goes along. But that’ll have to wait for my next reread! <<less

That may play a part in me not continuing after I started running out of chapters LOL).SUMMARY: The MC, Luo Shuyu, had been hunted and chased down to death by a mysterious party along with his husband and child in his first life. All because of Shen Mingyun, a dense transmigrator with a SYSTEM who doesn't think about the consequences of his actions. The MC and his husband (the cold-faced but warm-hearted ML, Li Mingjin), had not really gotten along well in their first life because of misunderstandings and lack of communication. After being reborn the day the emperor decreed their marriage, the MC decided to fight for a better life for his once-family, and along the way, ruin the person who caused his downfall in the previous life. <<less

There are only a few bits and pieces where he reveals his motivations. Making it seem like he's completely careless at everything, and just simply s*upid. And as a result, it's hard to raise any interest for his story going further. Of course, if you prefer this kind of fast-food drama/romance, then this novel may end up being pretty good for you. <<less

Here, the world is a bit strange, I don't understand it much myself because of the MTL quality. But let's just say that gender differences have been a bit blurred. As a male, Song Jingwei has the right to legitimately inherit the family wealth, however, he's not a legitimate child. The only legitimate child in their family is female. And this girl hates Song Jingwei to death — to the point of wanting to ruin his virtue and forcing him to drink the magical river water that can allow men to give birth to children. The novel starts right when this overbearing female villain starts the plan in motion, and affected by aphrodisiac, the MC and ML are forced to go through with it, tying themselves up together.

As for the ML, his name is Shen Junxi. He was once a promising scholar, but because of an illness, he lost his ability to speak. In contrast to the MC, who is cold and indifferent, he's warm and optimistic. The romance between them is terribly unequal, since the MC enters the family as a daughter-in-law with a lot of wealth. He also doesn't intend to take his relationship with the ML seriously, which he tells to the hopeful ML outright. Prompting a slow and somewhat bittersweet romance — which I currently have no idea as to how it ends. <<less

He persisted in a state of denial for a while, not believing he's the same as the original owner, especially after encountering an ex-boyfriend (the ML) that hated his guts one second and wanted back with him the next.

The MC is very resistant to having anything to do with the ML, since he believed himself to be 100% straight. He also couldn't accept being the same person as the original owner. So they go back and forth like this for a while. With the MC a avoiding the ML whenever he could, and the ML sticking a hot face on a cold ass again and again in order to regain the favor of his BF.

____________THOUGHTS: I'm not fond of the back and forth between the MC and ML, TBH. Not because it's not interesting, but because it's very repetitive — and thus, very frustrating. The MC's personality is very flaky (not very stable at all) and the author made things worse by giving the ML a —mostly pointless—cultivator background that pretty much forces him to make mistakes and aggravate their relationship again and again. ANYWAY, because of the relationship troubles, I deducted 1 star from my rating directly XD. But, when it comes to other aspects (which are not so detailed in the novel), I still give props to the author. The novel is a little different from most novels using the same apocalypse/survival genre, so it stands out that reason. I would read this novel for the worldbuilding alone! And I shall do so when the TL is further along heheh. (The MTL is fine to read. But I always feel like I'm missing something, which is part of the reason why I quit outside of losing interest after getting distracted.) I'll give an official rating at that time! <<less
