At that time, Shi Qin was following a dark doomsday harem novel. The male protagonist, Cheng Yu, is simply the most handsome, strong but also the most miserable. Later, he turned into a villain hero and was determined to destroy the world!

Shi Qin found the story very interesting , but he was hit hard by error 404. He was so angry that he almost vomited blood, but what greeted him was being tied to the novel by the rogue system and forcibly made to carry the heavy responsibility of changing the story.

In order to leave this world alive, cultivating the character design and changing the plot, not only does he have to prevent the hero from blackening, but also prevent him from accepting girls, and hold high the banner of monogamy.

God this novel made me cry so much. If it weren't HE, I would say this heavily deserves the tragedy tag. It is a beautiful story of love in the end days, but the process to fulfil that love comes with many hurdles. One thing I would say is to remember that Shi Qin comes from the mostly-civilized modern era, aka a different mode of thinking, and humans can very easily break down when everyone turns against them. This is a PSA, to go to someone you know who is... more>> struggling and let them know, fully know, in whatever way possible, that there is at the very least ONE person who is there for them. If Cheng Yu could survive for so long because someone believed and trusted him wholeheartedly, we in the modern era should be able to as well. Be someone else's Shi Qin, not their Bai Xiao. Don't let someone you care for suffer like Cheng Yu did. If you want to know why I'm 2/3 sad for life and 1/3 pissed at humanity, read the novel. Read this beautiful but despairing story, and take some messages to heart. Thank you to the author for continuing the story even when they felt discouraged by people's comments. I hope Cheng Yu and Shi Qin continue living peacefully in the post-apocolypse 🥲 <<less

this was one of the worst things I have EVER read, if I could give it negative stars I honestly would! the only somewhat likable character is the MC (haven't gotten to the ML being all possessive/abusive but he's still kinda ehh?), other than that they all basically suck

the humans (fingers crossed they were meant to be absolute shite humans because if not... wow) who seem to think they can't do any wrong and are morally better than the zombies/abnormals) are actually 100% worse than the actual villain (i only... more>> read what was currently out so there might be another villain)

like part of the big plot is that some of the humans can be bitten but instead of turning into zombies, they survive AND gain pretty awesome powers? one of those being to control the zombies!!!! and other humans are like no!!!! how evil!!!! instead of treating them with basic f*cking human respect and using them to help fight zombies, let's try killing all of them off because we're f*cking idiots!! (also I know they did use them for a short period in the beginning but they mainly only used kids and they didn't treat them right, and then were angry when said kids turned against them when they weren't being treated right and they were all surprised?? like what!!!! people don't like being treated badly???? Has interesting plot, characters are either loveable or hateful, you get attached to the main characters and become invested pretty quickly with an interesting first few chapters that only contour to get better as it goes on.

I miss pre-blackened ML a lot, he was such a cutie with his jealousy but not being overbearing at all but now he reminds me of all those beastly ML’s that only care about having s*x which is kinda disappointing and his personality is a little more stereotypical and flat but oh well, the... more>> plot is what makes me keep going.

I have to say, some side characters are sooo goddamn annoying when you think they’re dead, turns out they survived and im just staring here blankly with my hands wanting to strangle something like...

anyways, solid 4/5 since it’s been a while since I’ve read something that could actually keep my attention for this long and make me binge while I had exams going on. The main couple at the beginning was what kept me going, they hit all the right spots but after the time skip, I kinda lost interest in their relationship since it became predictable. Wish Shi Qin could’ve had gentle s*x the first time he did it bc I would be traumatised personally, for anyone who experiences that even if the other person is your lover. <<less

... Gosh is this frustrating.

I just wanna see all the characters get killed already... they're all s*upid, except MC, although, if I were him, I'd probs just bite all the characters heads off and call it a day. With their actions and my patience, I couldn't stand being near any of them.

ML starts out very considerate, then becomes possessive after becoming an awakened aka evolved human, after completely blackening he's restraining his emotions. So he rejects MC since he can't tell what's an illusion or reality anymore and he's afraid of hurting MC. MC is just SO FRUSTRATED he complains to his OMG Super BFF Mao Mao! Then BOOM dumb Mao Mao comes up with the idea to pretend to have s*x with MC. So MC goes through with this idea instead of waiting and persistently chasing after ML, who waited for MC for 8 years. CUE totally not a r*pe scene because the MC enjoyed it even though he keeps telling ML to stop but that's ok because he doesn't mean it and tells ML it's voluntary afterwards. ALSO it doesn't hurt cuz MC now has a body that won't hurt and heals itself.

Dang I was really close to having a consensual relationship without dumb forced scenes like this.

IF you read the summary thinking oh, I'm gonna see how a straight MC reacts to a bent storybook protagonist after finishing his task then don't read cuz by the time he does finish the task he knows protagonist has feelings for him and he definitely also knows he himself isn't too straight anymore.

It's like 100+ chapters before task ends and MC's final task is to have his crystal taken out of his head, but instead of getting pain blocks from the system and instead of just getting the crystal taken out, author wants to write a torture scene to be dramatic and drive ML completely crazy.

* full of actions! (From the very start already, it is already heated up!)

* romance (MC is dumb! Acting like he can't see ml's love... so annoying!)

... more>> * zombies (not typical chinese story where you use elemental powers as attack. Focuses more on mental. While for zombies... different way of evolution!)

*side characters (their cute some are cool and there is also love and sadness. I have to say it does not discriminate (as in on life and death and so on...) on things but there is discrimination ok! In the story there are a lot of race discrimination so be prepared... I won't spoil on stuff. Read it yourself!)

* tragic?. (ummm... a bit yes and no... And to tell you MC did and did not die ;) and also more people died since it is apocalypse..... .... it is sad at the middle so prepare your brains and tissues... literal tissues for nose not for brains!)

* adventure? (full tooo full of them... and also too much use of the mind... so many things are place in... TwT almost MC and ML do not have time to have a vacation.. everything happened in almost a year and a half and after that some time skip... oops no more spoiler! Read it!)

so yeah let me tell you. In the story bad people get retributed and some learn from mistakes but some just don't. It is so annoying... anyway... remember try not to read this thing at night when you reach aroung 70 - 100? I cant remember... I couldn't sleep because of sadness...

i recommend this baby ah... not really baby this old stuff! Old... Because it is not for babies? Hehe.. ok I will stop my random jokes... I am rating it 5 stars... <<less

Reading the synopsis, you can get the gist of the story. Though I read something similar in a sense and could probably be a story full of cliches, I still decided to read it.

So I started reading because of the plot. I stayed because I want to know how these villains died. There are a lot of them. Though there is 1 ultimate villain, I still wish to see the demise of these minor canon fodders.

I don't want to tell much about the story. All I can say is that... more>> it is well written. For me, I can't wait to read the next chapter to see how these characters die or how other characters get together, etc. It made me want to off all those hypocrites.

If you are interested, give it a go. I recommend this story 5/5 <<less

I really liked this novel, the characters are, in a way, interesting, although some are so obnoxious that it makes you want to enter the novel to slap them. MC is adorable (and there's a whole interesting plot of him being a zombie) and ML is so interesting! It's been a while since I've had that feeling of wanting to read more and more!

This novel aish. I really want to read it, and I do find it likeable, but the MTL situation is a bit miserable DX it’s about Hmm 75% readable? Which is not the worst I’ve read, but since the TL is so good, I decided to just wait and read it when it’s further along. As for the story itself, it’s pretty good. A bit slow-paced at times, but the development is very interesting. Lots of twists and turns, the MC and ML are constantly getting into trouble while they... more>> bend for each other lolol (they’re both straight at the start). The initial premise also reminds me of Scum Villain, though this novel certainly focuses a lot more on worldbuilding and other external matters outside of the MC and ML (that progress is a bit slow since these two get into a lot of trouble.) All in all, worth the read, though if you’re current lacking patience, I don’t recommend reading the MTL DX <<less

Well I actually mtled way past chapter 7, but I don't remember when I stopped.

Cheng Yu before blackening was sweetheart, and that what I read this book for, after... It's your typical ml, that don't have personality. Naturally I lost interest, especially after author put dump drama of brother and sister loving one man. Too nauseating, thank you next.
