- The comedy. It's dirty, immature, pe*verted, and very 18-yr old hormonal boy comedy, if you get me. Expect a lot of d*ck jokes and puns. Very s*upid. A lot of second-hand embarrassment too, from MC doing s*upid things / or horribly failing at some things.
- There are a lot of positive opinions on MC and a couple of negative ones, but I personally find that this is one of my favourite MCs. He's unlucky, brash, has a motor-mouth, a little slow but he's dedicated and committed to his mission, while also soft and weak in the places where you'd expect him to be. I think his shortcomings are presently exactly as what you'd expect after a naive 18 year old boy who has barely experienced the world suddenly gets thrusted into life-threatening missions. He lived a regular life where he was never required to be a schemer, so scheming has never been his forte. He knows how to cook well because he used to cook for his father. He never liked sports or being athletic in his original world. The only reason he knew how to lie was because he had practiced some acting, but even then, his lies were never completely fullproof and were uncovered from time to time. Still, he tries his best anyways because he is desperate to go home. Honestly, I feel like this is one of those rare stories where you can actually see how desperate the MC is to go home, rather than just being some few-lines descriptor. Another point that I like is that while he was handsome in his original world, he wasn't a world-bending, heavenly, divine, national-level temptation. Lord knows how tired I am of descriptions of the typical beauty shous, so having an average protagonist (ugly in one world) really feels like a fresh of breath air.
- The other characters, aside from the MC and ML actually feel like people. They think, and have thoughts, and have feelings and aren't just spectators that gawk at MC and ML, or cannon fodders that serve to complete dogblood plots. Especially in the fourth arc, where one of the side characters really left an impression on me.
- This is more of a personal preference, but I like that in every world, MC gets ML's attention through his own efforts, rather than the “lovers with history” trope (though I have nothing against them.) In my opinion, I think this kind of thing gives ML's obsession with MC more depth. The pacing of each arc can feel a bit slow but it's better than suddenly falling in love on day one. You can probably consider each arc slow burn if I'm honest.
- MC's banter with System is very fresh; if I were to put it in an analogy, they're like a pair of comical childhood friends where one is spoiled, whiny, and slow and the other is blunt, sarcastic, exasperated but secretly caring. System isn't totally OP though, but it tries to help out where it can, though sometimes it does like to act stingy (purposefully). They're very cute.
TLDR; read if you like an average, (endearingly) dumb, underpowered and unlucky MC,... more>>The MC is so lovable and optimistic?? Other MC usually have either a naive+annoying vibe or the gloomy vibe to them. Also, the bickering between MC and system is so fun. Each arc is so interesting, I like how MC isn't always the perfect character.
Arc 1 MC is an artist that use drugs
Arc 2 MC is a burly inmate x beautiful inmate ML
Arc 3 MC is a snake beastman that ended up getting eaten (literally and figuratively) by ML
Arc 4 MC is a bed wetter and ML is a pyschopath
Arc 6 stepson MC x father ML
Arc 7 MC is a 'bird' doctor hehe and ML is the director of the hospital.
Arc 8 MC is a bird that only ML could see. Poor ML was searching everywhere for his wifi while MC is right beside him. At the end, we get to know the secrets about MC and ML past. We also get some lovey dovey scene. It's such an enjoyable read. Cons : Real life MC is different from the MC that we know. Lowkey living for the master MC x butler ML.
