All of these are, IMO, must-reads. Hands-down some of the best novels here. I've also included my own personal ratings and opinions of each of these novels. Well-written stories, great plots, characters, etc. I have relatively high standards for these to be my favorites, so these are all really high quality. Actively being updated. I haven't finished writing reviews/ratings for all of them yet, but I will in time. Meant to be ordered by highest personal ratings -> lowest personal ratings, but haven't had time to fix it yet. These are also my own opinions and feelings regarding each novel, so they won't be particularly eloquent, and you can definitely disagree. It's just me rambling.

Also added some ones I haven't read but will read and I know i will love. Feel free to recommend any danmei too!

Disclaimer: This list is made with my own tastes in mind, but if you like a healthy amount of angst, amazing characterisation and a gripping plot, this list is also for you. This also means that most are popular danmei and you probably won't find many hidden gems. BL (of all genres) that leave you with a paradoxical feeling of completeness and emptiness after finishing. Completeness because the plot, characters, romance, world-building, etc.... more>> are all so well fleshed out. Emptiness because you either want to stay a bit longer with the characters in their world, or rather, you know that the story has reached its satisfying ending, and that this is where the art should end. <3 The BL & danmei world is a treasure trove of all sorts. Danmeis I completed reading and I find amazing. They have plot most of the time. :) It's in a historical Asian setting.
