Transmigrating Into The Heartthrob’s Cannon Fodder Childhood Friend

Description

The protagonist shou, Xie Sui, was a proud son of heaven. He had an illustrious family background, was cold and removed from desire, and attracted many (psychopathic) admirers. From the gentle senior to the paranoid president, to the haughty and proud arch-enemy, these big guys were all top leaders of their respective fields, yet they were all crazy about him.

After pushing him down a series of mentally and physically abusive paths, the three of them decided to join hands to destroy the Xie Family, imprison Xie Sui, crush his pride, and turn him into a pet that could only rely on them.

While the crowd of readers howled “Wuwuwu the feels~”.

Song Yu was already so angry he was going crazy. Not wanting to read any more of this eye-searingly bad novel, he cursed, “Idiots.” and hurried offline.

As a result, when he woke up, he’d transmigrated.

He’d transmigrated to become the Third Young Master of the Song Family in the novel, who had only been briefly mentioned in passing, would die of a terminal illness, and was Xie Sui’s childhood friend.

Song Yu was terribly upset. At the same time, he’d already come to a decision in his heart––those three idiots, had better not think about wanting to get close to his little childhood friend!

Xie Sui was born cold-hearted. In two lifetimes, he’d never tasted the sweetness of love, nor had he ever experienced the feeling of being protected.

After destroying three big families and personally killing his enemies, he was reborn back to when he was 15 years old. He had to hide the violence and coldness in his heart and pretend to be the youth with a gentle and clean appearance that he’d been in the past.

Everything was the same as before, except that the little childhood friend who was nothing but a vague memory in his previous life was exceptionally different this time.

Like the spring breeze that thawed the frozen soil, someone reached into the abyss and grabbed his blood-stained hand.

Song Yu tore apart a love confession letter like he was venting and fumed, “Don’t pay attention to those people, don’t believe in their sweet words. They’re all scum, and their love is worthless. Don’t like them, okay?”

Xie Sui gazed at him for a long time, then laughed, “Alright, I don’t like them.”

I only like you.

I love MC he's everything. He's trolling is so funny. Faceslapping is so creative. He's just so loveable with his settings.

ML of your typical ML OP, dominating CEO, Loves MC great chemistry can't hate him

Usually I don't read school like romance because it's getting boring real quick. But this one is really entertaining. I find warmth in their school life. Where the whole class cab get together and enjoy their time together. Hang out, no backstab and other non sense. It feels refreshing and remind me of my time in... more>> school.

Just that good things didn't last long. 2nd half we are introduce the two words I hate the most 'LG' pain in the ass existence in all transmigration novels. Everything was disturbed at that point. No longer focusing on that lovely school life, plot sped up and everything just go haywire. Alot of dog blood, so many filler characters.

I really wanted just let it be MC really transmigrated to save ML, and go through each plot. Faceslap all those scums and go through High school, University, work together.

So really -1 star for the major disturbance that is LG and the system. They weren't needed in the story.

I do strongly recommend people to read this. Ahh the school life is so sweet and colorful, funny and entertaining. MC always makes me laugh. Read it to reminisce your youth. <<less

I feel two truths slightly at odds can be said about this book :
1. The characters are fleshed out, funny, and engaging, and the romance between MC (Song Yu) and ML (Xie Sui) is soft and soothing like a warm, homely summer breeze.
2. Plot exists, but it's mostly a secondary aspect. Resolution in this sense is a bit... nonsensical (?) You simply have to make your peace with the fact it doesn't really make sense and nothing is much explained but it's okay.

So, did I like this novel? Yes, lots! It was a lighthearted, soft but committed-type of romance novel that was filled with hilarious moments. A thing I think the author mastered and it's not very common is the fact that her formula for OP MC is pretty straightforward: someone looking for trouble belittles and confronts him, MC is c*cky and OP, MC gets his way, and trolls them in the process. You'd think at some point repeating this formula over and over might get boring but, again, the main characters are so likable it's just damn amusing and just fun to read about.

So, all in all, to sum it up: it's the journey, not the destination. The romance is well-constructed and although I never felt a looming sense of imminent danger or threats that had me on the edge of my seat, protectiveness is a big theme in this novel and well worked into the interactions between MC and ML.

Props to the translators btw, I mtl-ed the last chapters only because I was too curious :)

Nice read. The story unfolds with MC, Song Yu, wanting to save ML, Xie Sui, from the suffering described in the novel he read. MC is strong, courageous, and funny. He befriends ML and works to give ML a happy school life. ML was reincarnated so he was not the same person that MC thought. ML is jaded but MC's sincerity manages to melt ML's resistance. The plot is nice and the ending is happy.

Spoiler

The book that MC read was fake. MC did not transmigrate but he had gone back into his body. When he was 6 years old, an alien system forced his soul from his body and took it over. Only when ML reincarnated was MC able to get his body back.

Their current life is actually their second life. In the first life, MC and ML were lovers. However, there was an alien system that wanted to harvest ML's energy (through the emotions of hate and love) since ML was the world's chosen one. It caused ML to suffer in his youth to gather hate energy and then wanted ML to fall in love with its designated person to gather love energy. However, ML loved MC so it tried to break them up.

When MC was mu*dered, its plan failed cause ML killed himself after avenging MC. The alien system used its energy to turn back time but messed up cause ML reincarnated with memories from the first life. Although the memories had gaps since he didn't recall his relationship with MC.

In the end, ML's psychic power was strong enough to save MC and destroy the alien system and its wielder.

Waaahh!! I thought the story would be cliche.... Maybe because I just have read a lot of novels but!! I really love the characters!!! Except the villains ofc- there's so annoyinggg I just hope I can bomb them!! Rawr!!! (ノ`Д´) ノ彡┻━┻

Our MC is not the one being protected! He's strong!! Badass!! 666!!! And such an awesome troll (ꈍᴗꈍ) Husbanddd! Mint!!

The ML is someone who is cold, scheming, indifferent but soo lively aaand soft when facing our MC XD I just love their interaction! (人*´∀`) 。*゚+

This story may make you... more>> think it would be so simple at the beginning however, at the middle you would realize it's really not. I don't really like scheming and conspiracies but this story looked too interesting and gave it a try.. and now, here I am, wanting for moreee--! hehehe~ anyways, give this story a try! It's really great and maybe, you will love it! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈) <<less

i loveeeee xie sui sooo muchhhhh ahhhhhh hes so f*cking gorgeous. Andd song yuuu aaaaa my little cutieeeee.

there are contradictions between one statement and the other, maybe because the memories of some characters are different and they forget some but it's a bit disturbing. But I really like xie sui, that indifferent human so I love himmm

Love how badass the MC is and how everyone supported the love relationship between MC and ML.

Spoiler

When Qin Mo, the first scum appeared, I was actually half hoping that he would be attracted to Song Yu [MC], kinda disappointed that they hated each other to the core. Although that is also an interesting turn

[collapse]

Even though their relationship progressed a bit slowly, I feel refreshed from seeing how fluffy their interactions were

PS: lots of AW moments going on

Just expressing my thoughts:

In chapter 5 -
Spoiler

What kind of s*upid request was 'I'll only take you away if you beg me'?

Xie Sui was really pitiful. After being mol*sted and insulted, he still had to suffer being threatened.

Shouldn't one shout out at the sight of injustice and do something about it?

Well, nobody would save someone for no reason and get trouble for himself even if he is powerful enough as long as it is not a fairy tale.

I liked it.

It was really nice and I had some moments where I wouldn't stop reading.

There was good fluff, comedy, I don't really know what else to say because it was overall good. I'd rate this a 4.5 instead of 5 tho.

I kind of dropped it, I think it was because ... more>>

I really liked everything about the story.

I might have skipped some parts near the end but that's because I was getting impatient. I just wanted the to progress faster 🙂. But I loved that everything progressed logically.

I just thought the MC wasn't dumb because of the beginning. Like he was organizing tests for his relative wasn't he. He should've been at least somewhat familiar with the knowledge he was relearning. And even then how can you forget everything. I still remember bits and pieces and it would not be that... more>> hard to remember knowledge thats already once been learned.

Other than that, it was beautiful. Soulful. Exquisite. <<less

I loved this novel! For a plot like Gentle Control, that's supposed to be depressing and sadistic, our boys truly made it a funny, charming, and loving story. Very little angst that usually gets solved pretty fast. I switched to the mtl after catching up with the translation, which definitely impacted the quality and made it a bit less enjoyable. But by then XIIN's translation had me hooked so I powered through.

Only a few negatives:

I felt the ending was a bit rushed and I'm not a fan of how the... more>> plot with the system concluded. Felt really sudden, confusing, and like it really just came out of nowhere. Didn't really go anywhere and just felt like an unnecessary addition personally. But if anything that just made it more forgettable and allowed me to get back to thing things I DID like:

This is truly just a sweet school romance. At the end of the day they're high schoolers and do silly high school things with their silly and charming high school classmates. One thing I found really refreshing (besides this whole setup tbh) was that Xie Sui's revenge wasn't really the focal point. It of course happened as it always does in Start Over transmigration stories, but at the end of the day this was about him having the childhood he didn't in his first life. Warm and sunny and very lovely. Another thing I adore is their romance! I wish it could have gone a bit more in depth but well this novel is on the shorter side. Their relationship felt very sweet, it's an ML falls in love first story, but Xie Sui was not pushy whatsoever (SUPER refreshing.) The relationship felt very natural and was a very sweet friends to boyfriends. I'm usually very picky about slice of life as I have a horrible attention span, but their soft like candy relationship and friendship had me always entertained. Really hope you'll give this book a try! <<less

I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It's the appropriate amount of fluff and comedy as well as some angst.

A good campus bl novel to read leisurely.

MC is living out my mental space whenever I read those yaoi bl's with abusive plots.

... more>> I love the MC's character considering he is goodhearted, and hardworking but also really sassy, impulsive, and temperamental making it really entertaining to read, and that even if he does good things he makes up things or reasonings that are really funny but not out of place.

The MC and ML pair well together, their dynamic as the rage boi and the calm boi (that will rage if you go near his boyfie). I also like how the ML pieces things out together bit by bit by himself and that neither of them are helpless by themselves.

They also remind me of those shounen comics where the male MC would have this male side character friend who is aggressively supportive and acts like a delinquent but if they ended up together. <<less

The premise is really entertaining (who doesn't love sweet revenge) and the main character is quite likable. He is very witty and clever and quite hilarious. His bold personality combined with his careful calculation with both words and actions makes him extremely like-able. The dynamic between the main character and male lead is also great. They feed off each other's energy and have great synergy. My only complaint is that the ending did not feel satisfying. I was expecting a different type of story and I wish I could have... more>> seen some aspects of the plot developed more than they were. I also felt the ending was kind of hurried. The story started as a revenge story and really changed directions in the last one-third or so. It became a lot more focused on the concept of transmigration and the transmigration system in general. I was truly shook and not in a good way. I wish they could have done the romance/exploring the past section while also allowing the male lead to have a more detailed revenge. Perhaps this won't both you as much as it bothered me though! And if it does bother you as much as it bothers me, I still think this story is worth a read for the priceless wit of the main character in the first part. Happy reading! <<less

Very fluffy, angst is almost nonexistent. I highly recommend the story, especially if you want to recover from abusive stuff you've read.

I think the story could have continued for a few more chapters though, that is my only issue with this story

I actually really like this novel!

Although I'm not a fan of school love storylines (they just study so freaking much!! It breaks my heart) I really enjoy this book.

Thank you translator for picking up this novel! You're doing a great job!!

Okay. So what's good: Our Song Yu is just the best. I think you'll notice how witty our protagonist is within the first few chapters but his comebacks are just pure gold. I think it's actually rare to have that much good one liners from one character. They're not cringy... more>> or weird. They're just funny and savage. Our Song is fierce but not like a kitten. Thank god he is nothing like the typical Mary Sue. He might look innocent but he's strong, witty, smart and good looking. Basically he is perfect. No character flaw either. Though he might be a bit dense in the beginning. But it gets a little better. We all know a good shou is always a little dense, just so the plot can progress and our gong can shine.

So the Gong -Xie Sui. Is it just me or is this name a little cute? He's cool. I suppose my fav is Song by miles but Xie isn't bad. He's just a good typical Gong. Though (once again thank god) because of his previous life experience he is disgusted with yandere behaviour. Although I like a little bit of madness (and we actually get hints of that from Xie) I am glad we get to see a nice, steady and careful gong. Instead of just passionate and desperate. Well. I don't think my description of Xie is that good. I still think there's plenty to find out about him. I suppose I'll know when new chapters are translated ❤️

Lastly, the story. Yes. There are some interesting complications. You're not really that surprised with them because foreshadowing is good. I think the story is interesting and it's a cool spin on the whole transmigrated into the novel trope. On top of that, side characters are there. You know. Really there. They have their own personalities. Maybe it's not perfect but at least you remember who is who based on their actions instead of just remembering the names. They're funny too. And girls aren't evil! At least not all of them. There is this one biatch but she pays for dinner for everyone later and is tough a lesson :)

Anyways. I can't wait to read more <<less

Till now it's so good and fluff.

It's more like two individuals who love each other was separated by life and death, yet when the god wants to destroy MC to make the plot correct, he couldn't. Cause MC is always in ML's happiness and consciousness. So even the god couldn't control them meeting each other again after rebirth. It's like even when I'm burnt to ashes, I will still recognize and reach for you. Loving you is an instinct. So even after the memories are hidden by the system and god, ML still fall for MC once again.

I really hated the system here, it's not a cute system that helps MC and ML together, it's just the opposite.

Any way it's a good read.

GUYS this one it the one.

I normally never do this, but I read it all using google translator. Yes. This whole thing. I just couldn't wait for new chapters hahah.

The story is very good and interesting.

The main character is smart and can stand up for himself.

The ML is HOT AND loves the MC so much.

The story isn't rushed.

The pacing is for me personally really really comfortable.

What do you need more?!

Ahh this was good fluff to read.

The MC is quite strong himself but is shy with the ML and is very good-hearted. The ML is the "cold to everyone except to the one he likes" type and he's so lovestruck with the MC.

Most of the story is about their school life, and I wish the author had thrown in more fluff, but there's lots of drama and a bit of mystery thrown in to keep you interested. The ending was... an interesting choice. I think it was a little bit... more>> weak, but the extra kind of makes up for it.

I read up to chapter 76 and MTL'd the rest. The MTL is a bit rough... maybe 75% understandable. There's a bit of slang and idioms used that do not translate well. <<less

It's more a 4.5 stars.

This is one of my favorite transmigration novels to date! Now whenever I read any transmigration novels, I unconsciously compare them with this one.

The couple is very cute. My favorite dynamic ever. The MC is sweet and is also always fighting someone LOL. It's really endearing though. The ML on the other hand is very doting towards MC. He basically just lets him do whatever he wants hehe. Their relationship dynamic is so so cute.

I also like the side characters! There's not much about them but... more>> they're there and they're supportive! I especially loved the MC's family. I love it when they have good families and the MC has a great one!

One complaint I have about this story is the forums. I found the forums to be way too excessive sometimes that I would skip a lot of it. They take up a good chunk of the story but I personally do not think they add much to the storyline. It was a little annoying to read but besides that, I have minimal complaints.

Keep in mind that you are going to want to MTL this because it's impossible to wait for more translations when it's so GOOD. The MTL is not great and I had a bit of trouble understanding the storyline, especially when there are many twists in the future, but this is not the fault of the author or translator. So if you don't want to confuse yourself with MTL it might be better to wait for translations! <<less
