Although she actually had another engagement, her family persuades her to do it because her nephew might suffer under a foreign stepmother. Her husband (ML) is rather cool and disciplined - both see marriage more as an agreement of rights and obligations than emotional. Her main goal is to lead as relaxed a life as possible. Therefore she doesn’t really care too much about anything, including her new son and husband.... more>>

I liked the FL and her development in terms of relationships with her stepson and the ML. Also her relationship with her sisters war really nice and heartwarming. But for some it might be a little boring and the FL too emotionless. <<less

What can I say - the FL is one of my absolute favorites. It's a rather unconventional "stepmother" arrangement - the FL marries her husband (who already divorced several times) due to her poor circumstances (she has to care for her family). On her wedding night her husband tells her, that he loves his "daughter" whom he adopted bc his family is against their connection. It only takes a short while and the FL doesn't care about her husband and his white lotus daughter anymore and decides to just live her best life.... more>>

This situation doesn't have that much impact on our FL - she decides to make her husband happy and as soon as the time comes she'll divorce with a lot of money. The ML knows its just a contract but somehow manages to make himself believe that the FL *actually* loves him and is somehow surprised when he finds out that's not the case. It's a typical novel in this genre. It's neither really bad nor really good.

Afterwards she flees to the countryside and starts to raise her baby boy. Her son is reborn and hates her bc he thinks that his mother/parents didn't want him. He had to suffer a lot in his last life and became a villain. FL decides to raise him in a loving and nurturing way. The ML is the father - he didn't know about his son and is ready to step up.... more>>

Honestly the story wasn't really my cup of tea. I found the FL too childish - which inherently isn't that bad, but she was so self-centered that she saw the people around her (especially the son) as mere props.  <<less

One thing I didn't like: (SPOILER + TW)

How they portrayed the ogFL and how they downplayed her r*pe (she was 16!!) and subsequently ens*avement (I mean they forced a five year hostess contract on a 16 year old who just gave birth and was basically homeless) just to book her and humiliate her. That's just vile and I hated how they acted like she wasn't a victim (ogFL/ML and their friends where older by 5-6 years so they KNEW what they were doing).  <<less

The FL transmigrates as the (awful) mother of the hero of a book. Her previous life was rather hard as she suffered from the misogynistic worldview her parents had (she had to work hard, they preferred her brother, didn’t let her go to college and wanted to marry her to a mentally disabled person). At first she had a hard time adapting but slowly opens up and has an overall loving relationship with her son. The ML was a really nice surprise - at first you might think he’s of the silent-cold-stoic soldier type but he’s really mischievous and teasing (in a green-flag way). 

I also liked how he gave her space and let her slowly adapt to their relationship and especially their intimacy (and only doing for what he had explicit consent).

But it’s a little bit too slow at the beginning and seems a bit directionless (the first part of the novel is mostly farm-life which doesn’t really have any impact/meaning for the plot). <<less
